Really like that you focused on one material, coffee stirrers. Makes it easier to imagine the possibilities of the medium. I do similar things with Jenga blocks.
They’re such a good material for miniature hobbying in general I knew I had to make a video on them. Jenga blocks are great too I’ve used them for making some big chunky fortified walls before, thanks for sharing!
I really liked the coffins and the graveyard doors. Made some crates like these with a core of cardboard squares layered into cubes and rectangles, instead of coffee sticks I had some slices of old vaneer I cut into strips.
All great ideas!!! A few I already knew about but never got done that good though!!! 1 things I would love to learn how to make would be extra bits?!? Like the missiles you had in 1 of the crates!?! I know you get a few from certain box sets…… but I usually use those for those sets!!! But I would love to know how the best way to make more just like it!?!
Thank you my man, glad you liked them, I’m 99% sure the missiles were from an older cadian heavy weapons kit, but I could see it being fairly easy to make some similar ones from styrene rods and similar little bits, so maybe a video idea for the future!
They were actually just from some random skeleton miniatures I grabbed off eBay and chopped up, no idea on the brand but you’ll find tons of them on there. Thank you, the gate was by far my favourite, I’ve got a whole bunch of similar bits that I’ve been thinking of making into a graveyard too, thanks for watching and commenting!
Yup, the coffins are ridiculously easy to make, all of this stuff is really. I’ve glued many little tiny planks to my fingers while making them though haha, thanks for watching!
7:17- I’m not sure how good this would work…… mainly because this video just gave me the idea!?! But I wonder if you 1st paint it the wood color! Then put a decent amount of Matt clear varnish over it! Then paint the green over all of that after everything is 100% dry! Then just like you just showed us, green, green wash, then sand it (obviously you would need to sand lighter! So you don’t go through all of the paint)! And if you did it right and that 1st coat of varnish did its job, then on all the pieces that the green paint is going would be the wood brown!?! To make it look way more realistic!??
All I need now are wooden coffee stirrers. Going to be a tiny bit of a challenge though, since where I live there seems to only be plastic tube like ones (which admittedly make for nice industrial pipes/plumbing).
I get my stirrers from Co-op stores, best done in the evenings when students work their shifts. No need to sneak about, I usually just ask if I can have some. I never get asked how many I want. A big handful is never a problem.
I did some doors recently and had some spots that wouldn’t stain where the Pva glue touched the wood from the excess so I used typhus corrosion texture from gw to cover it and it gave the wood that rotted look worked well. Feather the edges with a wet brush and it was perfect
I have indeed, probably would have been way better than the foam I used in this video. I might have to have a play around with it again soon I have some walls and other bits I need to make, thanks for watching!
Don't get me wrong, the boxes all look great... but my god THOSE OLD DOORS. Damn they look so legitimate. Also I'm really impressed with the moss on the gate. So simple but effective. Top notch work
Haha thank you I really appreciate that, they were by far the thing I was most satisfied with after making for this video so it’s great to hear you liked that, thanks for stopping by!
Coffee stirrers are great ideas. I hope my coffeeine supplier will not worry too much about me now, that I will have another reason to go there. I also like your funny comments. Indeed, I do gently kiss colours on my minis.
Hahaha you just need to increase your coffee in take to 20 cups per day and you can make all this stuff too. I’m glad to hear it’s not just me also, thanks for watching!
Where do y9u get your skeleton bits from? I miss the old GW box set of skeletons that gave an amazing amount of parts for all kinds of projects and want something like that if possible.
I grabbed these off eBay, they were random skeleton archers of a nondescript brand that I chopped up for nefarious purposes, sorry I can’t be more specific ☹️
The Skeletons Warriors box from Warlords of Erewhon, by Warlord Games (formerly by Wargames Factory) is by far the best source of random skeleton bits we have, since most of the pieces are separate (or if you want to make skeletons in very specific positions for dioramas or whatever). And for skulls, as mindbending as it sounds, the best bang for your buck is *still* the Games Workshop Skulls box, nothing else from no one else comes close if you want a whole bunch and variety of them.
It’s a bit of leftover scenery I had laying around from some Age of Sigmar graveyard scenery set - something to do with the nighthaunt I think, thanks for watching!
Never occured to me to use sandpaper to weather wood bits... Looks great!
I started doing it a while ago and haven’t gone back since, it’s so easy, thanks for watching!

Thanks a lot! Good stuff, I enjoy hearing about other people’s hobbying resourcefulness, thanks for sharing!
Sound advice Sir, 'Keep your goo off your wood'. Very interesting video, thank you 😊
It’s a rule I live my life by, thanks for watching!

That gate is top notch! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
like this. I used coffee stirrers to make ladders and fences before too. Great for Mordheim and Necromunda
Thank you! They’re a great material for crafting diorama bits from, thanks for stopping by!
I'm curious where you got the skulls and skele-boys from? That gate is super rad and now for no reason at all I wanna make a grungy graveyard haha

Good question!
I use lolly sticks and wooden skewers but never thought of coffee stirrers. Thanks for the tip!
Those are great options too, you can make really cool stuff combining them together, thanks for watching!
Very awesome bud. Thank you for the help and ideas. They look brilliant
Glad to be of service, thanks for watching!
I especially love your style and approach, I'm glad to have found this channel!
Thanks! Glad to have you here
Like the idea of the open crates, and the easiest coffins ever.
Yup, the coffins are ridiculously easy to make, all of this stuff is really. I’ve glued many little tiny planks to my fingers while making them though haha, thanks for watching!
This was so great! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!

You can order big bags of them from Amazon if your local McDonald’s isn’t giving them away 😉 thanks for watching my friend!

Yeah people are usually pretty chilled about these things if you’re polite about it, thanks for watching also!
@@SwampRatMiniatures Love your wooden overcoats - as my old dad used to call them.
I did some doors recently and had some spots that wouldn’t stain where the Pva glue touched the wood from the excess so I used typhus corrosion texture from gw to cover it and it gave the wood that rotted look worked well. Feather the edges with a wet brush and it was perfect
Ahhh great idea, I’ll have to give that a go next time, thanks for the suggestion!
Very nice work 👍👍
Much appreciated, thanks for watching!
That’s awesome 👏🏻 I’m definitely going to try the coffins ⚰️
Thanks a lot, I hope you have fun making them!
Where did you get the surround part of the gate you made? Wonderful video and chock full of great/helpful information! Thanks!
Thank you! It’s part of a graveyard scenery kit for Age of Sigmar 🙂
Very cool work
Thanks my man, nice to see you here!
Great tutorial, not too fussy and you’re funny. 👍 and new sub💚
Thanks a lot, glad to have you!
exellente combo has hecho!!
Gracias mi amigo!
Have you try use 5mm foam board? You can stack as many you want to get height. Its good size to make building and brickwalls.
I have indeed, probably would have been way better than the foam I used in this video. I might have to have a play around with it again soon I have some walls and other bits I need to make, thanks for watching!

I use coffee stirrers for the bodies on On30 narrow gauge railway wagons
Awesome I love that idea, they are super versatile, thanks for watching!

Another amazing video on using great, easy to get products, in useful ways for our art or gaming! Thanks again Swampy.
Thanks Bo, always glad to see your name pop up, hope all is well for you my friend!
awesome video man!
Thanks man, appreciate you watching!
Hello, you make a very good job, it's looks very realistic. I subscribe you 😁.Many greetings Thomas 👍🚂👍🚂
Thank you, very glad to have you!
👌👌👌
Is that Gateway an STL?
It’s a bit of leftover scenery I had laying around from some Age of Sigmar graveyard scenery set - something to do with the nighthaunt I think, thanks for watching!
Used stirrers?
These were new ones but I don’t see why you couldn’t use used ones, as long as you let them dry off first! Thanks for watching!
Hehe bottoms 😂 (yes that’s my four year old mind from you saying we can play around their bottoms)
Exactly what my brain did too 😄 thanks for watching!
2:05 Oh matron
😏
Love this! Going to definitely use these tricks for some future dnd sessions!
Glad to hear it, thanks for watching!
Or just to put in a drawer and never thing of again.... Ouch. :D
Hahaha it happens ;) thanks for watching!
They must be Poundland Coffins - there are no handles.
Whoever’s inside doesn’t deserve them apparently, no one’s carrying these they’re throwing them off the back of a lorry 😄 thanks for watching!
The foam you used looks like some sort of feta cheese.
Or maybe I'm just hungry...
Regardless, very nice crafts!
Maybe it is.. might explain the very chewy feta I had the other day.. thanks for watching!
RIP this guy when he meets Luke's t16
I’m not much bigger than 2 metres 😢
