I usually use a little dot of superglue (if you use too much it’ll cause frosting on the area), I’ll also add a pin for extra strength if it’s a larger mini!
Hey! No, as long as you test your miniature placement out as you build the base, as I mentioned in the vid, you can make sure you’re building them in a way that the miniature will stand flat on them, if there’s any small little gaps left around the feet at the end, you can usually chuck on a little bit of extra flock/sand etc with some glue to hide it 🙂
@@SleepyGhst hahaha me too, I have to check and double check like 10 times as I build the base to make sure it’ll fit, appreciate it though dude, thanks for watching!
Hell yeeeeeah, I’m turning them into reels for my Instagram I’ll see how they look as shorts too, as the physical format for shorts is a bit weird, thanks for watching though!
I use XPS foam for these, depends on your country but a lot of building supply stores will sell big insulation sheets of XPS (make sure it’s XPS though as some other kinds can be a bit toxic to cut up/breath particles etc), if not, I bought some small blocks of it from Green stuff world!
Using a literal miniature boot to make trodden-in mud is a stroke of genius.
Bit of a spur of the moment idea but seemed to work pretty well! Definitely gonna play around with more trench stuff like those, super fun to make!
SwampRat always hits way above his weight class. Criminally underrated.
@@TioMostFrio appreciate it bro, I hope to keep improving as much as possible!!
Love the trench bases!

That would be so cool with trenches!!
Awesome tutorial, getting me hooked on making bases more elaborate!
Glad you enjoyed it! Making bases is one of my favourite parts of the hobby to be honest, lots of fun to be had 😁
the swamp bases was pretty nice!

Beautiful creations my son! Daddy is back, I just bought some lettuce.
Daddy I misssss you, daddy why you dieeee, enjoy your lettuce king ❤️
Looks cool. 👍
Thanks dude hope you’re well!
After putting all that details into the bases, how and what kind of glue do you use to glue the minis down to the base?
I usually use a little dot of superglue (if you use too much it’ll cause frosting on the area), I’ll also add a pin for extra strength if it’s a larger mini!
Dont you find that your models just kind of float on the surface of these bases?

@@SwampRatMiniatures I’m super bad at eyeballing placement lol. Either way I loved the way these looked. Super cool ideas here.

Hey! This video is really...base-ic. 😉
I was trying to come up with some witty reply but my brain is firing on fumes apparently so I will just say thank you my dude 😄
@@SwampRatMiniatures Yeah...that happens from time to time.
Very late but 1 for the algorithm
Man this video is ripe YT short content. I would encourage you to re-edit this one to share each type of base as a new short
