just a note, due to rusting, I highly recommend using aluminum hardware (carriage bolts, washers and lock washers). Also, I used #6 3/4" carriage bolts to mount onto the crossbars. I'm sure things will work out for you, good luck Uncle Aaron!
no issues with it since the initial install. Been offroading and camping many times and it hasn't moved even a bit. As long as you have lock washers and nuts tightened correctly, I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't hold.
You are soooo clever mate !! Wow. Never would have thought of that!
@@swimcali saved me a few bucks and it works just fine. That’s what frugality does lol. Thanks mate!
Perfect! Now I understand how it can be done. Thanks!

Is the tank resting on the nuts and bolts? If so, do you think that will eventually damage the tank?
Are you referring to the nuts/bolts that's holding down the Rotopax mounts?
@@modXELA Yes.
@@PaulStimac no, the depth of the circular recess (0.25”) is slightly deeper than the height of the nut. So the nut is not even touching the canister.
Is there any risk of gas leaking on the roof by putting it in that position? . Looks really nice . Just concerned about damaging the paint
@@faraon769 .......you mean right over the sunroof??? na na he'll be fine!!!
