He sympathized with Hercules to some extent - both killed their families due to Olympian manipulation and were put off on ending their servitude. I do wonder two things: 1 - A paycheck's a paycheck, but this series got Sorbo here and Hamlin as Perseus dying horrible deaths. Did the actors welcome this to get 'revenge' on typecasting or was it just money? 2 - Did the devs ever say why he was called Hercules and not Heracles? It's not like players who even glanced at Greek myth wouldn't know the name was changed for Roman worship. He is like the only change to the Roman in all three games.

Herc here is voiced by Kevin Sorbo from Hercules: the Legendary Journeys. Very fitting choice. I guess using Tate Donovan from Disney would’ve been a tad unfitting for this gritty game, not to mention you’d have to use James Woods for Hades which would’ve REALLY stuck out like a sore thumb. That said, would’ve been nice if the PSN Trophy for beating this boss said “Who puts the Glad in Gladiator now?”

This Boss Battle (that at the same time is not even close to other bosses in GOW3) is million times better and more epic than the ones against Thor and Odin fused together.
