it's interesting how theres such a huge contrast between the consequences of killing gods in the norse and greek games. in greek mythology the gods hold everything together, being the watchers and protectors of their titles while in norse mythology they're just there, not serving much purpose except to protect the people and make sure nothing bad happens in the nine realms. It's really interesting when you think about how Kratos is so worried about the consequences of Atreus killing gods, because he's not particularly afraid of incurring their wrath he's instead worried of destroying yet another place he calls home.

To be fair Greek gods influence the world so their death is much more significant. Norse gods are much less privy to influence the world as much as they are a part of it. Thor was thunder, Odin was knowledge, magni was brutality and force. Modi was bravery and courage. Baldur was the only significant god he killed that could have an adverse effect but even so no direct effect would cause like Poseidon and Helios

Even tho the Greek gods were jerks to Kratos in GOW 3 you could see they did not really want to kill Kratos more like defend their home and Helios,Hermes,Poseidon,Zeus in each encounter try to reason with Kratos at some point in their battles but Kratos was blinded by rage and sick of them insulting him and his pain so he was not hearing nothing but kill them all
Agreed but in Kratos shoes could he really trust them in reasoning? They would of tried to do something to him
Nah. It was all because of Athena's trickery to Kratos to open the Pandora's Box, to unleash greater evil that corrupted the gods
They were looking for a way to negotiate. That is what gods do when they're afraid of losing all of that power and possessions. They are greedy enough to compromise.
Not only to Kratos they were really, if you read mythology and great philosophers wrote and thought about these false (great) gods
From what I remember the only ones who was reasoning with Kratos was Athena and Poseidon, and the rest of them was just digging for their own graves, (excluding aphrodite and all other gods that aren't being involved) especially with Hermes and Helios, and Hera they were just asking for it. Hades only has reason for revenge against Kratos btw.
A remake for the trilogy is a must in the form of what it looks like now
The camera is inferior now in many ways, and it limits a lot of combo potential due to lack of jumping. Runic attacks are pretty fun, but a remake should have a camera much farther and ability to jump
Remaster would be better so they won’t ruin the story of Kratos

Nah just better graphics and animations would be good. Todays camera wouldn't work well with the original gameplay which is what we all loved in the first place.

I’d like to think he realized he was part god once he killed the hecatonchires and the first fury relatively easy. No human is capable of fighting gigantic monsters and falling great heights with barely any injuries
I never watched the greek God of war games, only the norse ones, so I can confidently say that Kratos had so many more incredible and epic fights in greece than in Scandinavia. THIS WAS AWESOME!

You failed to include Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. In the former game, Kratos killed Persephone and in Ghost of Sparta, he killed Thanatos.
Speaking of which, in Ascension between killing the fury Megaera and the scene with the illusion on Apollo's Gauntlet, didn't Kratos kill Nestor and Pollax(forgive me if I got their names wrong) to see the Oracle of (some Greek town with the initial D) or are they some other Greek Mythical person?
And technically Thanatos, according to the Myth guy who points inaccuracies of the games, is not a God but a Primordial.
Also after killing his half brother Hercules, Kratos killed Cronos who is, or was later on, his grandfather, a TITAN, NOT A GOD.

The Norse Saga was far more story driven than the Greek Saga.
GOW ascension had the second best opening of the saga behind GOW 3. Such a cool and intense intro
I love that they brought Helios back in the God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC and recreated some of the levels from the earlier games.

Jörmungandr is literally the size of an entire dimension... The jötnar in GoW are incredibly scaled down versus their actual size. If anything, some like Ymir were probably larger than Titans

Watching them back to back like this do you notice all the god deaths cause a knock on effect thematically tied to the god they were? Like Ares dies and what looks like a hydrogen bomb goes off because he’s the god of war, or Hermes does and disease and pests consume the land.
