    I’m loving on my first pm2. I bought a k390 blade and had it reground, acid stonewashed, and a broken tip turned into a reverse tanto style tip area, along with blue terotuf scales, purple flytanium hardware, purple lynch clips, and a purple titanium backspacer off Etsy. I’m so happy with how it came together and the way it operates.

    Great vid. It’s difficult to find 4v. I have a Manix 2 in M390. It’s one “sharp paperweight.”

    Lucky enough to have bought and own both the Manix 2 and PM2 prior to the going rate easily tripling, these were limited to 500ish per model. If somebody starts using CPM-4V in regular production models, they will be champions. Love it in DLC, have a Maxace Mammoth in V4E also, Knifezilla.

      St. Nicks just dropped the Goddard in 4v for 125$ i cannot overemphasize how sticky the Spyderco 4v edges get!!

    I have same angle grind issues with my lightweight rexy para3 I had just put my own edge on it yesterday as I dropped it and took a micro chip out of the apex from factory at first I clamped it up and I saw a huuuuge difference in angles so I took it out and went freehand to just try and have matching bevels

    My manix tested softer than my para 3 as well. Still performs great imo even at 64. The pm2s I heard where 62 ish if I remember right. Was pure luck to score any of the 4V drops from St Nicks due to the site freezes/crashes during drop times.

      they just dropped the Goddard in 4v this past Friday for 125$ i was able to seamlessly snag 2 within the first 5 minutes, i checked back and they literally had a live stock counter ran into today.. in better words, their website is much improved now. these guys put the sprint in sprint run when it comes to shipping to my new 4v babes were in the mail by 4pm same day

    You can make 1000hp on the dyno but only go 10sec. Gotta have the right tires, aero and suspension to get that power to the ground and make that 9 sec 1/4 mile. And you can also make 1000hp different ways, but if the tune ain't right it won't get that 60ft you were hoping to get. Etc

    Is it possible that the edge geometry is playing larger role here? If im not mistaken, doesn't the para 3 have a much thinner edge geometry (maybe not much, but it felt more "slicey" in hand) either way thanks for the tests brotha, learned a hell of a lot from your channel so thanks man. I know a lot of work goes into these tests ....

    • @Outpost_76
      @Outpost_76  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These 2 are .001-.002 bte within each other. In this test this is a direct comparison of Spyderco 4V at a different hardness. If I have a chance to test a 4V PM2 or Native ill also compare that since I've seen them all so far test in the 62 to 63 rc range. The Para 3 and Fradon Lock Manix have been the only Spyderco 4V models to hit 65 or higher.

    This is the perfect example of know what the hell your talking about before you talk about sharpening something. The main draw back to the sharpening system fan boys vs the hand sharpening system fan boys! Learn angles and feel it out and learn angles. Dont just rely on a fixed system unless your 100% confident in the angles and geometry of the edge.

    I bought a strop that came with 3 different compounds but they weren't labeled. Has a brown, white and green. Does anyone know what might be what ?

    • @rockets4kids
      @rockets4kids 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no standard on colors, you need to get the function from the manufacturer. That said, there are some generalities. Brown is generally tripoli, a silicon dioxide abrasive generally not used on hard metals. White can be pretty much anything, often it is a general purpose compound. Green is generally a CrO2 compound for a high polish on stainless steels and other hard metals.
