Cute couple ! Thanks for insights!!
There is a high sense of giving-up in their story!! If they were frustrated about Netherland, why did they end up having citizenship - I'm lost in their story. Wanting kid to grow up in India with Indian values but foreign citizenship will leave them nowhere other than a confused state of mind!
A lot of people (general observation outside this video) use the excuse of parents, culture to justify their R2Is - while in (some) cases, its the inability to live-up to one's own expectations (career growth, lifestyle, money, cars etc.).
Teaching grit to kids is an important aspect no matter where one resides!

    100% True
It's just a Mechanical life in abroad
    Forgot about Healthcare
You have to wait months to get a specialist doctor appointment
You pay good amount every month for health insurance but when you get diagnosed with any disease you will get a fat bill to pay from hospital as insurance pays only some part

Moving to western countries could be very challenging after a certain age, specially when you are planning a family. Its a very planned life, less chaotic, a challenging weather which needs a mindset to adapt, also with kids it could be extremely difficult.Overall i think its a good experience for them to have a perspective of the life style.

Ankita mentioned in last few minutes of the video that they made sure to secure finances for their son. I would love to hear how & where they achieved it.(Netherlands/India)

parents being employed/on pension not dependent is the biggest advantage to NRI who travel abroad for work. Otherwise sending them money every month with this high taxes in europe , it becomes bit difficult. All government retired parents are best

Bit over simplification of the decision-making process. All about spending time in traffic/unprofessional services vs. spending time with chores/mundane things. Former goes back, and the latter stays.

    • @australiatruelyasia6825
      @australiatruelyasia6825 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Its all about convenience and feel good factor you get in India vs health benefits abroad. There are multiple factors example Getting stuck in traffic in an ola/uber can still be productive :) as you can read books to enhance career than the later where you cant read while you are washing dishes or cooking and if you listen or see tv then a 20 min job will become 1 hour job :). One will only know this when you do it for years and years after you are out of the honeymoon period (say 5 years) that its such a boring stuff and at the end you are not progressing in life and sacrificing plus taking risks by doing mundane work thinking this place is better for kids but infact you are getting trapped into a cycle that can be broken by wise choice,

@@australiatruelyasia6825 Getting into risk by doing mundane things? But being productive staying in a cab. Very different approach and though process towards life. No wonder the multitasking in cabs leads to exertion and motion sickness . Add pollution purified air to that if the driver agrees.

Such a postive video!!!...Work life balance part was like exactly describing my life in germany! I dont understand this great work life balance comment about EU.. i feel am working always..either at home or work or kids..we never got a chance to sip a coffee in peace...totally like wat she described..
But curious to ask the couple- has this improved once in india? I sometimes domt understand if we life is so hectic because of kids or because of living here ...does it get better when u are in india?

Indeed life changes drastically after kids, but in our case we are finding it better here with help available around that we are able to take out enough time for ourselves.Very grateful for that! As far as work is considered, if you get into good product based company here then it's a big advantage. Plan it wisely wherever /if you plan 🙂

Just google the netherland tax slabs, they have tax for all income earners. Hence for expats 30% exempt was a big difference. Also I dont think both of them returned to India because of this rule, it is combination of factors not just 30% rule . I guess they mainly returned because it is difficult to look after kids without help/support abroad. I can relate to this couple.

There is nothing hypocritical. They paid so much taxes and insurance in Netherland for so many years. Why not take advantage of that? The very fact that they are working, living and contributing in India is enough.

Most the of people who went to Europe/Australia/Canada just about 10 years ago have a European/Australian/Canadian passport. If u analyze, most interviews from people who lives in these countries have an Indian OCI. On the other hand, those who went to USA and there for 15 years don't even have a green card. Now coming to the point you make. Indians cannot integrate even within India, for e.g. in my city in chennai, we have an area filled with Gujarathi and Marwadi, none of these folks integrate into Tamil culture, they just live like how they would have lived in Rajasthan or Gujarat. But for most of their businesses their customers are Tamil people. There are now millions of Indians with european passports, but they live an unintegrated and disconnected life. Inside their house then have one culture outside the door is a different culture. I bet these two can't even speak a single word of Dutch but they are having a passport.
