Great reaction! In this concert at the Festival della Vacanza in Lecce, Italy, at the age of 12, Amira sings Gounod/Bach's Ave Maria in a masterly way. The mezzo-sopranos and altos of the choir were amazed at Amira's level. She used advanced vocal techniques with ease and mastery. For example, when singing the phrase “Nunc et in hora”, Amira projects the syllable “ho” with the very long high note E5 and immediately without taking a breath Amira performs a portamento (slide) still with vibrato to the lower syllable “ra”. Classical singing students in their 20s struggle at university to learn and execute this portamento. Amira executes it perfectly, with confidence and effortlessness. Amira already belonged to the cream of the cream of sopranos.
Thank you for a good reaction. I'm not sure if the woman with the red hair in the choir,is jealous or simply astounded by Amira's powerful voice, from such a small body.Reguards from Michael Jonathan Lewis, Johannesburg,South Africa.
Wonderful, sublime performance by an Angel from God who makes so many of us wonder how is it possible for anyone to have such a perfect voice unless it is a special gift from God. Great reaction as always and please react to another of her Ave Maria performances ( entirely different song), that being: …. … Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church at age 11. In my opinion, this is up there with her very best performances & one that all reactors should be reacting to. Cheers Graeme
Her most deeply, inspired and impressive Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod...She seems immersed in a direct invocation to the Virgin (look at her Face )..And perhaps there is an intimate reason for that ?...And congratulations for the excellent reaction...🐢🐢
She is horrified that Amira is using her own tone of voice. She was expecting that forced, breathy tone of a fat old Italian lady from the 17th century that many conservatories teach. You can see her singing in the choir with this artificial, dusty, archaic impostation that destroys the naturalness of many sopranos.

I agree. she is awesome.
Indeed, Amira offered in the homeland of opera a lesson that students from various Conservatories would analyze and try to match her perfection

A few have had the same reaction. Yes she did not look happy. I believe you are correct.
