Great reaction! From the age of 9 until today, Amira has donated half of everything she earns from concerts and sales of CDs and DVDs. Through her foundation, she builds and maintains large playgrounds in South African schools. She had already donated 21 by last year. She does initiatives at Easter and Christmas for children. She also helps with the infrastructure of crèches. She supports victims of typhoons and fires financially and with her music, and supports causes for wildlife, autistic children, war and 9/11 veterans. She donates uniforms, shoes, equipment and infrastructure for poor girls to play netball and take part in student tournaments. She visits nursing homes for the elderly at weekends and sings for them for free. Last year (2023), she won South Africa's Anti-Racism Award. At the age of 10, she went to Vatican City to receive the Humanitarian of the Year award.

Gissur Páll Gissurarson is a seasoned tenor, who entered in 2001 the well-known Giovanni Battista Martini Conservatory in Bologna, where he was trained for four years in Italian repertoire and vocal technique. In 2012 he made his debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème by Puccini (among many other great tenors, Pavarotti played it with Renata Scotto at the Met). And just before this duet with Amira in 2015, he played the role of Count of Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, by Rossini. These are not easy tasks... At this stage of her carreer, Amira had vocal lessons since two years only, but she already reached the required level to challenge a professional. Stunning... By the way, this concert was held on December 12, 2015. Just a week later, Amira made one of her best performances ever, by singing an other Ave Maria, by William Gomez, in Canisius Church, Nijmegen. This one was really out of this world...
I was fortunate, very fortunate, to be at this Christmas concert in Reykjavik.. the Icelanders gave Amira a great welcome. Lovely people - and wow what landscapes. Amira's duet with Gissur was fabulous .. you ended before his compliments to her on stage saying 'Mama Mia!' 😊 Amira looked and sounded fabulous lost in that song. Credit to her mother Frieda who made Amira's dress, as she made most of Amira's stage dresses at that time I believe.
Hi. Another absolutely beautiful performance is Amira singing ‘Ave Maria’ by Gomez at the Canisius Church in Nijmegen in 2015. It’s a fan cam recording but it’s remarkable.
Up until she won Hollands got talent, she was largely self taught, then she was given coaching for her first album recording. It continued from there, but she put in a lot of practice at home. She really couldn't stop herself from singing. Just before this duet, she sang a solo O mio babbino caro for the Reykjavik audience it went down well and is on YT. A few week after this she was guest soloist at a Christmas concert in Nijmegen, her home town. She sang a different Ave Maria, penned by William Gomez, her vocal gymnastics on that are really impressive and worth experiencing. Look up Ave Maria, Gomez. St Canisius Church for that one. I discovered Amira because as a fan of Jackie Evancho since seeing her perform on AGT in 2010, I was aware Jackie had messaged Amira her congratulations on Amira's audition on Holland's Got Talent in 2013. Amira was thrilled that Jackie had reached out to her, and they still keep in touch. Pay close attention to her face and especially her eyes. She's not there. She's standing in the presence of God and singing directly to Him.
When she sings secular songs, she sings with amazing talent. When she sings songs of faith, she almost glows and it seems she goes elsewhere.
