    I think the reason Shane is being so isolated in the group is because he’s irrational. He has a huge obsession with Lori and Carl, but he’s also not very strong minded. He never wants to take the risk to get his people back (there are some cases where you have to cut your losses, but never taking a risk in the apocalypse is basically shutting the door on yourself as everyone around you dies). Back at the CDC he was going to trap them all by nearly destroying the timer since the explosion would have went off automatically. And even in the times that he’s right, he doesn’t have the tact to prove his point. Part of communicating danger is knowing how to make others understand it. He’s so aggressive that everyone is apprehensive of him.

    The reason Rick wants to stay is because Lori is pregnant. Sound and smell draws Walkers. So being somewhere isolated and with fences is the best bet for having a baby. They don’t know where they’ll end up outside and they don’t know how long Lori’s labor would take, but her screaming and the blood from the delivery would cause unprecedented issues

    Shane was definitely the type of cop that planted evidence on innocent people to make his quota. The way he escalates every situation and makes everything worse is actually award-winning. Imagine a stranger coming into your home, your space telling you how things should be done and then taking it upon themselves in the worse way possible to do those things. IT'S HERSHEL'S FARM... calm tf down Shane the walkers are locked up they're not hurting anyone. Also, I'm pretty sure with time Rick would've convinced Hershel to get rid of the walkers but here come bully ass Shane ready to bulldoze over anyone with critical thinking skills.

    • @brookcty
      @brookcty ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @jarvisfowlkes3200 Nope, I disagree just from the way Shane spoke about & treated women from the 5-minute conversation he had with Rick in their police car showed me what kind of toxic man he was. It took Shane literally 3 months to turn on his best friend and start murdering innocent people. He didn't change with the world. He let this world break him and turn him into the worst type of man. There's characters that have been through so much more than him, and it took them years to break. Shane is weak and always takes the easy way out, so it's not far-fetched he used to do that with his police work, too. You also need to realize he always chooses to leave people behind... First Rick, then the group in Atlanta, Otis, Sophia...he never thinks about anyone else but him and lori. Which is ridiculous because everyone knows to survive an apocalypse it's better to have community around you.

  • @thecontinent9192

    I definitely felt like Shane was correct, but he goes about things so poorly and selfishly. He didn’t know Sophia would be in there or not, he was pissed about Hershel with the walkers and pissed about what Lori said on top of that. Not to mention he didn’t respect the wishes of the man letting him live on their property lol. But again, Shane is correct. Rick is more diplomatic rn. Shane makes decisions based on his personal agenda (ego). And yeah I don’t fw Lori 😂 she’s a pain.

  • @brookcty
    @brookcty ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Well if it is Shane's baby it wouldn't be his because he went and got a married woman pregnant. Legally speaking the child is Rick's because any child conceived or born by his wife during their marriage is his.

I always believed shane wanted Lori and wanted to be Rick from the beginning. I also believed although Rick and Shane have been friends for a long time . He left Rick to die because if not why would he put the hospital bed in front when the military was killing everyone and sis not go in that room. That is just my opinion from watching as a fan for years. Which I have also read the comics. I can't wait to see what other reactions and conservations that will be had for the coming episodes. Blaming lori is so completely illogical. He's out of his mind. Lets just forget all abt what shane was saying before lori told him it wouldnt be his child, right? Wishing his best friend was dead. Implying that she only decided to keep the baby bc she knows its his. HE'S DELUSIONAL! He's completely unhinged. He wants her husband dead. He sexually assaulted her. Why would she want this man to have anything to do with her or raising her child?? There's no logic behind continuing to defend him and blame lori for his behavior. It's pure misogyny
    What shane did at the barn was completely wrong. The walkers needed to be dealt with, no question. But the way he went abt it was absolutely wrong. They didnt know abt the walkers being there and wouldnt have known if glenn hadnt accidentally stumbled on them so the idea that they were an immediate threat that needed to be dealt with is just false. There was no logic to the way shane handled that. It was just pure emotion and stupidity. Doing it that way was actually more dangerous bc all of that gun fire could've drawn more walkers to the farm. He was an unhinged idiot, per usual.

    17:00 This man is speaking FACTS! You're not alone in thinking this, mate. Lori DEFINITELY did some emotional damage on Shane saying that even if the baby is his, it will never BE HIS. Meaning she is excluding him from the family unit even though they both know deep down that he most likely IS the father. That's heartbreaking. Like, the world ended, what's so bad about the baby having two father figures? Rick and Lori are clinging on the the old world customs too much and thats what pisses Shane off. He sees that as weakness (and it really is).

    Shane was right about the walkers in the barn, it's a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode, it was necessary to show Herschel what the walkers really were. but he should never have broke into the barn, after shooting the walker Herschel was holding, he pretty much got the message, Shane should have stopped there and let the situation cool off.
    What Lori said to Shane about the child is mad though, like at the end of the day, if he's the dad, he has a right to the child. However Shane should have come clean to Rick about what happened instead he continues the lie

    Idk I’ve always been 90% Shane’s side. He realized what the world was wayyy quicker than anyone else, Rick a few seasons later becomes very similar to Shane.They would’ve respected Hershel’s rules if his rules were reasonable. Asking them to not carry their guns and to be okay with a barn full of walkers being a few feet away from where they sleep is not reasonable and were rightfully broken. Shane seems crazy because most of the times his decisions are the most logical and correct but everyone around him can’t see it which leads to the people he loves (mainly Carl, Lori) being in danger. Knowing you’re right about something and having other people bash you for it can make you lash out and less tempered. Rick while trying to be the “good guy” left his family many times and made choices that were maybe morally correct but would put the group in danger. Even killing Otis was pretty justified, they had no bullets and were limping. Shane told Otis to go forward without him but he refused. Knowing that they would both die (killing Carl) he made the hard choice of sacrificing Otis since Otis didn’t accept Shane’s sacrifice. On top of everything Shane now has what he believes to be his child on the way which amplifies everything. Season 5 Rick and Shane would get along perfectly.

    Shane may be right about some things but he is irrational and emotional and that is a danger to the entire group. He is so obsessed with Lori and taking over from Rick that he cannot think thru the consequences of his actions and even if he tries he doesnt care about anything except getting what he wants. He is mentally and emotionally weak. Btw Jon Bernthal is an incredible actor

    Shane is an imperfect man who was easily corrupted by this world. I like to compare Rick to Aragorn and Shane to Boromir. One is far easier to corrupt than the other but Boromir was not a bad man. He was a man with honour who fell victim to his own weakness. Something we can all understand. The show has continuously tried to show that Shane is not an evil man he just let the darkness take him quicker than Rick.

    it was wrong what they did cuz that wasn’t their house, if hershel wants to dress his zombie wife up and go on brunch dates with her.. f*ck it lol that’s on him.. is it crazy? hell yea but that’s his house.. they were guests.. but without Shane we would’ve never found Sophia..

    Agreed, one of the best episodes this season. REALLY enjoyed your reactions to this one guys and glad you're enjoying it.
    Shane has devolved into hardened survival mode and as Dale sees it he thinks Shane's soul is dark and belongs to this Apocalyptical world.
    We always cracks up when 'Theodore "T-Dog" Douglas' looks across the field to the trees and says "Oh *bleep*🤬" and Shane looks and screws up his face😡 and starts running towards Rick and Hershel with the walkers saying 😡"what is that", 😡"what is that".🤣🤣🤣
    Yes Shane took things into his own hands, but without him doing that, we would NEVER have known Sophia was in that barn.
    See you on the next one!

    Man, I'm not a fan of a lot of Shane's actions, but that speech? EVERYONE needed to hear it. In fact, he put some sense into Hershell's mind, they're not living people, they're dangerous. And they HAVE TO FIGHT to stay alive, otherwise they won't survive. Sophia in normal days wouldn't be alive either, she was a lonely child who disappeared for several days, and in a zombie apocalypse? if she was alive, it would be a miracle. Shane was totally right.

    ENOUGH! 😂 That scene with Shane is sooo epic! He’s crazy and didn’t handle that situation correctly but damn it’s great acting! Hershel didn’t know about Sophia he’s a good man and thought he was doing the right thing by his loved ones. Shane has officially lost it and yes I do think Lori played a huge part in that! Shane has good points but he’s a loose canon and that’s dangerous! Great reaction 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️

  • @mrsfahrenheit
    @mrsfahrenheit ปีที่แล้ว +2

    you guys are so entertaining, how you're almost having a fight over Shane love that 😂
    but yeah none of you is completely wrong, technically yes of course Shane is right. The Walkers are dangerous and yes thanks to Shane we finally found out what has happened to Sofia maybe we never would've found out If it wasn't for him and If we'd followed Rick's way. Hershel also needed to see it to believe it, also right.
    The problem is just that Shane's way too impulsive and his impulsive actions are so fuckin dangerous in a world like that. He might've adapted quick to the living conditions in one way but he's mentally way too unstable to keep a clear head and think things through. And that would just get you killed as quickly as being someone that's not able to accept the situation their in like Hershel for example. Sometimes it's better to wheigh out what the best thing in that exact moment is and taking their very unstable situation as a group which 1. consists of a pregnant woman 2. a child 3. also some people who are not really skilled fighters yet plus the fact that the man that has given you sancturary in the first place is currently trying to re-think his decision of kicking you off his grounds ,following Hershel's rules at least for the time being would've been the better option. And there goes the next thing: Shane has no sense of community. Everything Shane does is what would benefit himself and his own ego first because If he'd actually care about Lori or Carl or anyone else he'd be in that exact same situation Rick is in, trying everything to secure the most safe living option for your pregnant wife, son and unborn child even If you have to suck it up and follow someone else's rules no matter If you like it or not. That's the qualities a leader also needs and that Shane misses.

    Hershels rules don't mean shit if he's putting them and his family in danger. Hershel does not decide the rules. And he ruined a peaceful place? it wasn't peaceful since it had a barn full of walkers. They were in an extremely UNBSAFE place. What shane did was not wrong. Hershel was putting EVERYONE in danger by his stupidity. Shane is the ONLY smart person in the entire group right now. The threat had to be taken out. Shane did the right thing for the right reasons, everyone's safety. And it's nto a spoiler because it's never said in the show. The baby IS Shanes.
