Painting Hot Wheels Cars - Redline C-Cab Fire Truck. Here at Diecast Resurrection we specialize in painting diecast model cars. In today's video I wanted to grab some stuff from the spare parts bin and make a cool fire truck. I tried out some more gold leafing at a very small scale. Overall it turned out pretty good. Mission accomplished I'd say!

You made another great model...I really like that paint
love your vids, why not try a 1k/ 2k varnish slow setting hardener, let the leaf bond remove sticker, there is always that fine line of no paint between sticker and paint. Might cut nice? I love dollar store clear coat spray cans, put a spray nozzle on it, with tube, spray some in airbush cup. and us it as bonding agent.
when the leaf is stuck and cleaned. put a thin layer of clear over it again. then apply your black fine line mask strickers on it. perfect :) final clear coat and zero transfer decals used.

Have you ever considered taking a Paddy Wagon and turning it into a hearse?
Open the sides and put in clear windows , brass handles and lanterns with a black paint scheme. And a little coffin in the back on a platform.
I am also happy with that!

You might be a bit too hard on yourself. Considering the scale, I think it looks great! The gold foil was a perfect match to a fire truck. I love that you went HotWheels over-the-top with the motor. That looks like something HotWheels would have done! If you don't want to do the leafing, you could do the same process with the mask but use a big flake gold paint and put the decal over it.

Red is always the principle color for the fire engine. Yellow is the secondary color, also white and teal blue.
Very neat. Would have Molotow'd the head lights though to make it look more like a brass radiator with stainless headlight buckets as was common for that era.

Maybe if you did twice the outline decals. Lay down one set of outline decals, then paint the glue inside the lines right on the decals instead of using stencils. Lay down the leaf, then add the second layer of outline decals. Stencils can be awkward with glue bleeding under. Might be worth a shot. ;)
