Hello, Great video thank you. I am there every second week, but a little upstream. I always catch fish. My favorite water. I was glad to see a new video, all the best to you.
So tempted 'next time' I see you to try these techniques rather than the EN. Thats awesome news regarding the flies! On my last baby pink and you know how I feel about the baby pinks 😍.
Same problem yesterday Andy, picked a few small Grayling up early fushing a French Leader on #16 Cadies Pupa, 1 decent Grayling on my take of a Chris Flay 'Traditional' nymph.😊 Olives started to hatch around 1pm which the Grayling showed interest in, 2 fish around 6oz size, but so did the Trout 🙄. Switched to the duo. Grayling seemed to prefer a #16 Hairs Ear. Any other nymph pattern only resulted in Trout.
Nice fishing Andy. Was doing the same at the weekend on the Tess but only one trout and it took the klink. When you say dress the leader, what do you mean by that? Rub some floatant on it? Cheers 🎣
Great video, always informative. Out of interest, what knee pads do you use? I fished the Dove a few days ago and spent a large amount of the day on my knees and was thinking I need some! Tight lines.
Great video of what seems to have been a fairly tough day. Thank you. Interested to see you using some very small flies with success. Whether dries or nymphs, I now rarely fish anything larger than a size 16 and often drop down to 18s and 20s, especially with the nymphs.
Hi Andy, Nice Fishing, I always use the duo over any other method theses days or a wool indicator. Ive got a Helios 9ft 4 weight coming in january from Orvis to test and review for them, hows it feel?
Hi Andy. Really nice video on a lovely bit of river. The mini extending landing net handle looks really useful. Do you have any info on where I could find one? Thanks, Rich
I haven't been out as much as I would have liked. I have had my fare share of fish over the year. I really need to get back up to Derbyshire. Let's see what the New Year brings
@IBandAndyFishing only local fisheries. Mainly Meon Springs Hampshire. Its my safe place. I also get asked to help young people out if they are struggling. Which is fun
Andy, any chance of showing how you add/remove a tippet and or dropper to your cast while fishing a beat. I assume there's a more efficient way then the way I do it. Which quickly reduces the length of leader even tho I use a tippet ring?
In this instance bud, I was using a duo fly with a tippet ring on it, and didn't change it. So I only had to add or take away tippet from, the dropped below it. Id I'm adding, I just blood knot it on to what's already there 👍
Funny you mentioned fly size for me it’s also been a funny season for fly sizes on the Stillwater’s. I caught many more trout after I reduced from 10-12’s to size 14-18 blobs and Buzzers even mini daddies etc but then on the opposite end of the spectrum I had my best day of the season on a 10cm pink snake! I give up 🤷♂️
Odd creatures, aren't they?! I definitely find that as the water gets clearer, I go smaller on the flies. Those little orange and red tags didn't catch lots of fish, but they have been so effective of late
Hi Kevin, exactly that yes, because we've still been getting good hatches, we've been catching on the dry fly too. Looking back, the stand out from the day was that there was no hatch, where there had been previously, the conditions had changed more than I maybe realised at the time

Nice to see you back on video Andy .
cheers pal, hope you've been out a bit this season?

Great video Andy, I am going to try this method on the Dee on Friday.
Let me know how it fishes, I'm there on Monday and Tuesday 👍👍

Where do you get those giant Klinkhammers from please ?

Thanks buddy! Review coming very soon on the rod - you've made a wise choice!
I Always love the content mate 👍🏼🎣
Hi Andy. Really nice video on a lovely bit of river. The mini extending landing net handle looks really useful. Do you have any info on where I could find one? Thanks, Rich
It's a Mclean landing net, model F521. It's a heavy beast but very sturdy!
Great video nice to see you back out
Thanks Stephen 👍
@IBandAndyFishing Your very welcome
Great vid guys we would love to see a collaboration vid with IB and Andy Vs snagged bro
that's a nice idea! I'll get in touch with them!
Been a minute. Glad youns are all good.
Thanks bud! We're still here, it's been a busy time for us, but we're trying - promise!
Nice to see you on the river. It's called fishing not catching. Tight lines Andy
there was plenty of fishing on this session, that's for sure! Hope you're doing well, and catching plenty?

@nicholastully7865 of you've not been out much, but still had your fair share, it sounds like you've been getting it right when you have been!
@IBandAndyFishing only local fisheries. Mainly Meon Springs Hampshire. Its my safe place. I also get asked to help young people out if they are struggling. Which is fun
@nicholastully7865 keep doing what you're doing then bud, it sounds like it's working on a few levels 👍👍

What was the reason for choosing duo rather than a small indicator & single nymph? Is there still a chance of getting a rise to the Klink or Sedge?
Hi Kevin, exactly that yes, because we've still been getting good hatches, we've been catching on the dry fly too. Looking back, the stand out from the day was that there was no hatch, where there had been previously, the conditions had changed more than I maybe realised at the time
I assume Duo is what I call Klink and Dink ?
You should have had IB with you
Are you not allowed to wade once the trout season is over?
this particular stretch of river is no wading full stop, Luke, it's been a rule on here for over a century 👍
