I worked at shelby in whittier for the full term, I worked the assembly line doing the engine upgrades, I built the omni , glhs , lazer , lancers, fun little cars, the omni was the fastest.
That's fantastic. I saw a video on YT many years ago that showed that plant in production. I can't seem to find it, but I believe it was put out by Shelby Times - I'd love to find that. If you have any pics, send them our way via email (in bio) or Instagram! Or ANY inside info - I know the community craves that sort of thing.
You didn't do anything nasty to Omni # 174 did you?😆 What about Charger # 0958? It'd be cool if your name was scratched into them. I guess you could still come scratch your name into them.
At 15:23, the comment on the fuel hose hit home. Had an ‘86 LeBaron for our older daughter. She complained of gasoline smell. I took the car, and when the smell came I stopped and opened the hood. That fuel line was porous under pressure and was leaking lots of fuel. I replaced that post haste!
