Walter was my "Grandfather" and Magic Mentor. We were close friends from 1970 to 1983. I spent more time at his home than mine. Walter's home was in Eddyville, NY (near Kingston) and many famous Magicians came to visit him there. These included Doug Henning, Harry Blackstone Jr,, John Calvert, Randi, Kreskin, Mario Manzini, John Scarne and Jerry Andrus to name a few. Besides being a Master Magician Walter created a Super Hero called the SHADOW that appeared in Novels, Comic Books, a Radio Program and Movies. He was the first Masked Hero Character to have Special Powers (to control men's minds). The Creator of Batman credits the SHADOW as his Inspiration for Batman.
