Thanks TheRooster1122!!! I appreciate you watching our videos!!! And a big HELLO to from Leanne and Rodney from down under Perth, Western Australia, Australia!!! Take care and tight lines!!!
Thankyou Booger500us!!!! It's quite fun when Leanne and I go out into the Indian Ocean!!! It's quite exciting when we catch something we know we can take it home and cook up a storm!!! Take care!!!!
As a West Aussie, there's nothing more satisfying than a man/woman understanding and acting to preserve what we have for future generations. If only the government had as much understanding as to how the ocean ecology works when it comes to particular issues.
Thankyou for your comment Tick Tock!!! I think your absolutely right government needs more understanding on how those issues work!!! Thanks again for your comment we really appreciate it!!! Sorry it took so long to answer your comment. Take care!!!!!
Thankyou Let's Go Fishing! South Florida!!! I wish we were catching them like that everytime we pulled our pots! But we've got poachers out there beating us to them at times. Tomorrow we're going out to do an early morning fish for some Pink Snapper, Breaksea Cod and hopefully some Dhufish then on the way home we'll check our pots!!! Hopefully we'll have a great day and you'll be able to watch it on TH-cam in a week or two!!! Take care and tight lines Icy Santa Ana!!!!
Me encanta la metodología de su pesca tomando en cuenta las que están a huevadas de esta manera se preserva mas el ecosistema, ojala todos sean así como este pescador. Saludos desde Republica Dominicana.
Great video Rodney. Interesting and nice to see you treat nature with respect going of your diligent measurements and making sure females were defo not with eggs. That must be some great eating, very envious mate :-)
Thankyou SpLiC3!!! We've got to look after nature if we want nature to look after us!!! Some of the scientific names are quite confusing if your just starting out in crayfishing or fishing. Hopefully a few people can see what they can keep and what they can't keep!!! They sure are beautiful to cook up and enjoy with your family!!!!! Thanks for your comment we really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed it!!!! Take care!!!
Thankyou HOOKEM IN THE MOUTH KAYAK FISHING!!! Leanne said HI Charles Cramer. We're going out in the morning to HOOKEM IN THE MOUTH and she's going to try and get it on film!!! My family loves eating fish except for my younger son but he likes fishing though his taste buds might change with a bit of luck!!! Take care and tight lines!!!!
Thankyou Joseph Russell!!! We got another 8 today and Leanne caught a beautiful Harlequin Fish!!! I'm going to post a couple of pics up on my facebook a little bit later you'll be able to see!!! They sure are tasting good though!!! Take care brother!!!
Thankyou Dennis Butler we really appreciate your comment!!! We haven't encountered anything like that yet. Last week a few of the guys at the marina were saying there was a few sharks coming up with there craypots. There's plenty of crays out there at the moment. We've been getting a few Jumbos with a few of our catches we look forward to those ones!!! There's a lot of people out there raiding other peoples pots at the moment it gets a bit annoying at times but we're still getting a nice feed to feed the family!!! Take care!!!!!
Hi Rene Flores anywhere from two to seven days. If we leave it in there for seven days we use tuna heads, mullet, mackerel and herring for bait. The tuna heads take awhile before they disappear. The mackerel and herring don't last long but it attracts them. The mullet and tuna heads keep them hanging around for awhile!!!!!!!Thanks for your comment hope this has been helpful to you!!!! Take care my Friend!!!!
Man , That looks like fun... I have never seen a fish like that last one you caught... That is what is fun about fishing in the ocean.... You just never know what you are going to catch!!!!! ;-)
Thankyou Bill Goudy!!!! It was fun I've never caught one of those fish before it's called a Painted Grinner!!!!!! Your absolutely right that's what Leanne keeps saying it's a lucky dip in the ocean!!!! We had a nice day in the ocean today!! Leanne caught a beautiful Harlequin Fish, it's quite a pretty fish!! And we got to come home with 8 Western Australian rock lobsters!!! Take care!!!
Hi, are you harvesting all the males only? does this thing does not mate to have eggs? I mean returning the females with eggs is good but how about the male population, is it not decreasing? Just a curious one.
This is just what our fisheries allows us to catch. If there in setose, tar spot or eggs we can't have them. We can have the male and the female as long as there size and the female isn't in setose, tar spot or eggs. There are huge penalties if we're caught with the wrong lobster. Western Rock Lobster are one of the most expensive lobsters on the market. 90% of Western Australian Lobsters are exported to China and Japan live!!!
thanks, may be the your law can consider releasing 1 male lobster out of six keeepers captured since adult lobster may takes time to mature hence even though you have enough female lobster but with lesser male, the same effect as if you are harvesting the female. this is of course not considering the study your government is doing. thanks anyway for the feedback.
Here's the link from the Fisheries department for the Rock Lobster industry. Hope it answers your questions www.fish.wa.gov.au/Species/Rock-Lobster/Pages/default.aspx hope this helps

I just fish because I love to fish and share my experiences around the world!!! Fishing is a hobby of mine that I love with a passion!!!! Every opportunity I get I will go fishing!!! These type of fisherman may be our only last hope of keeping shellfish alive. In my opinion the Japanese fishing industries will destroy the entire pacific rim of valid fish and shellfish within a decade. The entire Japanese consortium live in this pipe dream there is nothing wrong. well good luck to you when in 2030 you can't bring in a single blue fin that ways more that 300 pounds well good luck to your country when you can no longer feed the massive. Japan and the whole pacific rim can no longer sustain live food for Japan. Until ten years ago I ignored the green piece BS. I believe now the Japanese will destroy the entire pacific ocean of all food sources within 20 years. if this happens their country will fail because they will have to rely on outside sources of food. Its like oil they are just looking at profit margins now. god help their country by 2030.
