You did very well. I love the way you explain everything but please how do you remove the back puff on a straight dress that has no cutting at the waist line? Thanks 👍😊. God bless 🙏
@@Wunmi1133 your question has been answered. The video explanations to this question have been posted on my page so you can check it out. If you any questions do let me know.
I must confess, mummy u are the best, this is what has been keeping me active on TH-cam on how to get this princess dart bustiers and to remove zipper budge and i couldn't understand rather they make me more confused but this video has helped me alot, i don't know how to pay u but i just subscribed on ur channel immediately and clicked the ring bell to notify me whenever u upload a video, please u are the best. Another thing i need to understand now is how to cut straight dart bustiers please make video on that, thank u and God bless you. Extending my love to you Ma ❤
There are two ways to achieve this (1) you can remove only the zip dart (2) you can draft out your pattern for the bodice and the skirt separately, then remove all the 3 darts, after removing the darts use masking tape (cello tape) to join both the upper bodice and the skirt together before cutting out on fabric as one piece. If you do it this way there will be no half length on the dress but the back fitting will be sweet. Number 2 is my best method but know that number 1 also works .
No Ma, if you are making a dress that has JOINING at the waist you don't replace the dart you remove on the hem line. But when making a dress that has no JOINING AT THE WAIST then you can replace the darts, WHY? Because the length of a dress that has no waist joining will short if not replaced.
@@stitchesbyesterna83 I watched it not too long ma. Going through the question again now, I realized that was not the question I meant to ask, my question is what if the dress has front zip and not at the back now, because there are several times I made front zipper dresses/ blazer but has little bulge at the back. Thank you ma as I await your response.
Any fabric will come out perfect if you follow the teach, You can use crepe or stretchy fabrics they are all good. For this tutorial I used crepe fabric.
@@mercyetta9579 let me give you another explanation so you can understand. Let's assume my shoulder measurement is 14 Inches, when i divide it by 2 I will get 7 inches. So When drafting out the pattern you will add what you want to slant to the 7inches. For Example if I want to slant 1inch at the shoulder, I will add 1inch + 7inches= 8inches. After I remove the 1inch slant I will be left with the actual 7inches for my arm hole depth. So my arm hole will not short. Let me know if you understand my expectation.
Thank you so much ma, I really do appreciate your kind gesture ma. You are a rare person asin you are just to perfect and good. Your intentions are pure and wish for everyone to succeed. May almighty God continue to bless and increase you in wisdom and grace. With love ❤ ma telegram.
Hello ma watching from Benin city , thnk u so much ma God bless, all my worries I put dem in one video, , from burst dart to zipper bulge lol to butt contour u r d best ma
The back half length and front half length cannot be the same EXCEPT a lady that has NO breast but as long as you have BREAST your back and front cannot be the same. Your question should be, Must the burst dart/side dart be two inches or what if the front is only one inch longer than the back? because these are possible, so in conclusion as long as you have BREAST on your chest your back and front cannot be the same. Secondly if you have been doing it that way, check your dresses you will see that any time you wear it on your body the joining in front is higher while the joining at the back goes lower than your waist at the back but ideally it's supposed to sit on your back waist. Have you not seen where someone will wear a dress and the front waist line goes up while the back waist line is going down? Do this assessment and give me feedback A lot of people can learn from this.
It is not a standard, it is just my own way of doing it, you can do 4 in front and back, whatever your nipple to nipple measurements is, you can do the same for the back and front.
Thanks so much ma, My question is what if we are not making the dress a princess bustier but a normal waist dart, how can we make the both side front and back side length equal, is it that we are going to transfer the side dart to waist or stitches the side dart on our fabric. Pls ma I will be looking forward to your explanation ma 🙏
Make your question simple so I can understand and give more explanations. This method applies to bustiers only. when making a normal dress I suggest you draft out your pattern using a pattern paper, then manipulate the darts you want and then use a cello tape and gum it back for example after you remove the 3 darts on the back, join both the upper bodice and the skirt with cello tape then cut it out as one piece. I didn't really get your point but I hope this explanation helps
Okay ma,my question actually based on the front pattern that how can we make it equal with the back pattern without using side dart but still Follow our actual half length ma
so your question says How can you make the front equal with the back without side dart? The only way is to cut both the back and front using the same length, which if you do that your dress will not lap properly on the body, the half length in front will be high above the belly button and the half length at the back will be low at the upper hip.
Yes ma , I don't put darts on the front, and it's not just skirts even for trousers, I want a perfect fit and a flat waist in front. those front darts on my skirt create folds.
Won't the back be too short, knowing fully well that the back length is shorter than the front, then you remove another 1" from the center back. Please clarify me ma
Not at all ma, the back will not be too short, but the back fitting will be so sweet. give it a try don't assume, if you really want to eliminate the back zip bulge then you must remove those 3 darts for a perfect fit. Please give it a try and give us your feedback, can't wait to see your results.
This method is for a fitted dress/gown. It will not affect the waist measurement, the reason why people wear dresses with a back bulge is because they refuse to remove that inch, this method does not apply to all , it is only for a fitted dress.
I’m less than 5 mins in and I already love the way you explain things. You’re like a teacher in a classroom. So clear!! Thank you so much. You have a new subscriber!❤
You come by 1 inch at the kneel lnt for back butt contouring and didn’t add it back at the side …so that means the back hem width will be 9 and front 10 judging from the measurements you use
Yes sir , by doing that you are shaping the down part of your skirt, do not add it back by the side, you only remove a dart and add it on the side when you are drafting the upper bodice but as for the down part you don't add it back it contributes to creating that perfect fit to the body.

I really enjoy this class but can you please do a video on how to get the shoulder to waist right for a straight dress
Very detailed tutorial, thank you but is it not necessary to replace the 1/2" last dart you took at the waist on the hem of the dress?
No Ma, if you are making a dress that has JOINING at the waist you don't replace the dart you remove on the hem line. But when making a dress that has no JOINING AT THE WAIST then you can replace the darts, WHY? Because the length of a dress that has no waist joining will short if not replaced.
