I'm 100% agree with everything you say, I bought a 2016 Speed triple R over the s1000r. Out of the s1000r, Tuno, MT10, Speed Triple is the best looking one.
I Bought the Speed Triple RS 2019 and I think it's the best looking supernaked Bike imo. It has the right balance of power and torque. Lot of people are complaining about the price, but I think that for all the extra equipment ( Arrow exhaust, Ohlïns suspension, Quick Shift etc) It's worth the price. Plus you get the satisfaction of riding a premium and reliable machine. You can't go wrong with the new Speed!
I just bought a 2019 Speed Triple RS and it is fantastic. I traded my 2014 Tuono in. I do miss the sound of it but that is it. Just need to put a louder exhaust on the RS and that's it.
I got a street, and i agree. I do prefer the muscle look on the speed, but im also a fairly small guy at 5'9 and 150 pounds. So the street fits me like a glove. Light, flickable and wheelies for days!
Loved my 2011 speedy but it was always my second bike so when I went down to just the one I didn’t want to ruin it with day to day riding. Have had a Yamaha fz1 fazer 1000 for nearly 3 years now and love it. Wasn’t sure at first but so easily upgraded for not a lot of money and still fast than 90% of bikes out there.
Good choice, competitive field. Touno, S1000, MT10 are all great bikes but they are so common. I like the Speed Triple because it’s more rare. It’s different. I was at this bike meet up and I saw a lot of beautiful bikes but this one KTM RC8 took the cake. It was beautiful and rare!
Good attitude! You bought what you wanted it because you wanted it. I have always been into sports bikes, however now I am thinking the super naked market is picking up and growing on me. Keep the vids coming.
Obviously the weather is starting to get better up there, glad we got another video Cheers!. I for one would really appreciate seeing a maintenance video, bit of guess work at the moment as it’s hard to find a service manual for these in Australia.
Did you ever see a German company called SixMonkeys would turn your Speed Triple into a ‘Daytona 1050’, they essentially just put a Daytona nose fairing on, it does look good. Now the new Daytona 765 has been spotted I think it’ll be my first bike I buy with 0 miles, think it’ll be well worth it. Thanks for the upload 👌🏻
Totally agree with you on the looks. The Aprilia Tuono doesn't look like a naked to me. The Japanese bikes always have their styling and colors wrong. Other naked bikes i like the looks of are the KTM duke 1290 and some of the Ducati's. Only thing i dislike about the default speed triple is that the exhausts are up high instead of low like on the new street 765. But i see you fixed that already. 👍
"Bet it goes like a stabbed rat"... LOL Best thing I've heard in ages. I have a street 765 RS with an arrow exhaust, miss that gurgle and pop when coming to a stop I had on my 675. I need a full SC project STAT!!
I own a 675, and I just can't live without its pops and gurgles! Does the new 765 is worth from the handling point of view, in comparison with the old 675 R?
@@mattiadallapozza5619 - I am not sure the differences are great enough to really justify the upgrade if you already love your 675. Here are the biggest differences I noticed between my 2015 675RX and my 2018 765RS = The seating position on the 765 is taller, by about 1.5 to 2 inches. The powerband is much higher up in the rev range - the 765 doesn't really come alive until you hit about 7k RPM. Because I have the RS the suspension is fully adjustable and is setup for my weight, so it does feel a little more in touch with the road, more responsive. Track mode on the RS is pretty ridiculous, very torquey and quick throttle response. The TFT dash is pretty sweet too, but not worth paying for a whole new bike. You really should go ride one!!
@@303MoTo thanks a lot for the answer, I really appreciate! I think I'll stick with my 675 R for now, but I'd love to have a test ride with the new RS 😉 Lamps!!!
I miss my 2008 Speed just a stunning bike but so heavy when not moving under its own steam. No garage and having to squeeze it through into single door width shed door nearly did for me and I had to let it go. :( Power everywhere and effortless to ride, but so easy to be doing silly speeds an not even feel it. Don't know what the suspension is like on the new versions but the 2008 one seemed to be designed to break your spine and shatter your bones.
I had a 2018 street R and loved it but always wish I would have gotten the speed. I'm all smaller built guy but the speed just has a presence about it that I wanted. Maybe next time!
Exactly why I got the Speed R, though I'm going to spend some time this summer road testing a bunch of different bikes, because that sounds like a laugh. Coffee and bacon roll still got your name on it at one of our local moto cafes when this warmer weather hits buddy.
I’ve got a Daytona, not an R. Didn’t bother me when I bought it as I didn’t ride it hard as I’d only had a licence a few months. I’d love to upgrade to a newer R now, but I’m holding out for either a white and blue or the mat black and red. They seem hard to find, especially local.
Your spot on with your opinion about the two bikes and how a bike should look. The street triple is a great bike and there is really nothing between them. However I’ve got an early 1050 and the stance and presence of my speedie and street when side by side is definitely noticeable
"............. goes like a stabbed rat" LoL. Have missed your pearls of wisdom. Who said the Tuono is fugly? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It doesn't even have a fuel gauge. Maybe you get another Daytona when Triumph bring out the new 765 next year? Btw I think Triumph's most expensive bike maybe their flagship Tiger 1200 XCa at about £17k, but I might be wrong. Unless one of their big cruisers costs more. Anyway your Speed sounds awesome. I rode the RS last autumn and absolutely loved it. It's like a grown up Street Triple RS, as you say more planted, more substantial, more purposeful, but still very nimble and quick. Know what you mean about getting the R version higher spec. Thanks for posting.
I’m having that dilemma at the moment. Haven’t had a bike for a while now, so looking at a replacement. Probably getting an MT09 but a Blade is very enticing.
For me the R version was not worth the extra £700 on the insurance premium.. if money wasn’t an issue I’d jump on it but for me I’d take the regular. Thanks for answering my question on the gram :)
I had one for a while. I am going to upgrade to the next model after the current when that comes out in 2020. The 2019 has cruise control, something I wanted but Triumph will do an improved one in 2020. I would look at mods for the bike. Scotoiler, to preserve the chain on the bike, quick shifter. The list is endless.
Like youre bike think it's a matter of prospective love my brand new RS is the dogs driving it easy ish till i get my 500 mile service then it's rock and roll time love my bike every time I look at it i KNOW it's what i wanted right down ro every details i changed enjoy youre clips but RS all day for me my bike ROCKS does it for me dd
How do you find the brake lever feel? Plenty of power in mine but the feel isn’t the best. Don’t really want to spend £250 on an RCS but feels like it may need it. May try a different pad when they are up. A non triumph spec brembo or the like. Interested to hear your thoughts 👍🏼

"Stop being a fucking bitch" I like you! On another note I think the street triple tail looks 10x better than the speed. The speed tail looks awkward and with the stock pipes the whole ass of the bike is to fat and looks tail heavy. With aftermarket exhausts it looks better but I would still prefer the street tail.
