Crazy how Joey's speech was actually right. The abridged series had such an impact that they actual dubbing has abridge level jokes in it now. When ppl talk about yugioh almost everyone will mention the abridged version atleast once and even crazier the madlads actually did the whole series to the point some of the voices actually work for dubbing studios now.
Yeah. For example, I watched some Top 10 WatchMojo videos of YugiOh recently and almost all of them start with some LittleKutiboh catchphrase.
& duel links will even reference the abridged series, Tristan's skill is Super strength! Lol i give 2k attack to a card that can attack ppl directly
I remember how uber sarcastic Kaiba was in the 2017 movie the way Abridged Kaiba is
LK really paved the way for how impactful the "funny voice on the web" thing could be. Now people make their living streaming or making videos, others get professional household-name-companies hiring them, and even the parodied work acknowledging some silly little parody.
The internet developed so rapidly and in such insane ways that it's difficult to pinpoint exactly how much impact LK had on this that or the other. But I think it's safe to say he definitely left on internet culture.
Does Britain not have laws about parody and other transformative works being protected speech? Man, the one time a guy with AMERICA powers might've actually been helpful and he had to be a fake one.

What I love about watching these now is all those references I didn't get when I was younger, like the FMA one in this episode. I cracked up laughing. I only watched the show last spring. It's little things like that which make it so good to rewatch these episodes.

The gang eventually electrocuted him when he's bounded. Then Atem came and electrocuted 98% of the gang with a single tazer at once. Volumes later, they came back and try to kill Jonouchi and Yugi with yo-yos. It didn't work and they all fall from the roof after Atem and Jonouchi yo-yo'd them.

From my knowledge the original company that made YU-GI-OH (in Japan) never gave 4Kids the rights to dub it. After being sued 4Kids Entertainment filed for bankruptcy.

Rylan Brooks Oh wow…Heh, now I'm torn. On the one hand, I now know how badly 4Kids fucked up the show, so knowing they did it without permission just makes them evil, but on the other hand, if they hadn't dubbed the show, I wouldn't have been able to see it as a kid. XD

Aren't "Fusion cards" basically vanilla cards? Don't know how to explain it, but something like Omnimon or Paildramon
Yeah, well have you ever seen Kaiba play? He plays 3 blue eyes white dragons in one turn with no sacrifices, and then fuses them into a blue eyes ultimate dragon without polymerization. This show has little to no connection to the actual card game other than the names and graphics on the cards. Not only that but I think 3 blue eyes are actually more powerful than the fusion. lol
Late reply, but 1 BEUD vs 3 BEWD is a situational choice. On its own merits, having three unfused dragons is the better choice in terms of raw numbers and overall support for the card, but on top of the obvious issue of being out of luck if your opponent pulls out something that can trump 3k, you also have to realize that over half of your monster zone is being occupied by 3k beatsticks, which leaves little room to play effect monsters.
Well actually, that's usually because the dub often cuts out explanations and info that the original Japanese version had. If you wanted to double check, you could look at the episode guides every time a move doesn't make sense. It usually provides and explanation that was cut out in the dub.

12 years later and joeys speech is still beautiful! Also I absolutely cannot believe you are STILL pushing out episodes man! Amazing job amazing amazing job! Even with everything going on in the world and all the personal set backs and everything in between you’re still at it! From the bottom of my heart thank you! This show is one of my go to’s as something to play in the background as I play games and I ALWAYS get distracted and end up watching 10-20 episodes in a row and end up marathoning it all the way thru and let me tell you this show is something beautiful and it’s so dumb and simple but brings so many smiles. So maybe the true YGOTAS was the friends we played childrens card games with along the way! I mean Without this abridged series all about a childrens card game I would never have know all about a pharaoh who got flipped turned upside down! This was the first episode I ever saw. (My brother showed me the Brooklyn Rage segment.) I then decided to watch the rest of the show, then got into the original Yugioh show and manga. I've enjoyed it so much, and want to thank YGO Abridged for bringing such a wonderful show into my life!

I love how even now, Joey's speech and the music set to it, and Joey declaring his final attack SET TO THE YUGIOH THEME, is amazing.

Yu-Gi-Oh! would have died, buried in all its spinoffs, if LittleKuriboh hadn't made YGOTAS. Heck, the show shaped my childhood - my childhood best-friendship ended over this show - but once it was over, I thought it was over and kinda moved on. Yet here I am today, 22 years old, loving the show all over again in a whole new way. Especially THIEFSHIPPING! >:3
…Ahem. Anyway, my point is, I loved the original show to death, and I still do, but I can laugh at LittleKuriboh's jokes 99.99% of the time and love this series too, because it's genius and puts the show and everything in it in a whole new light that even I don't find completely offensive (and I get offended VERY easily when it comes to TV shows I love to death and allowed to shape significant growth periods of my life). Apart from Ishizu's trying to make her little brother happy making her a bad sister, every single one of LittleKuriboh's jokes has just made me laugh and say "So bad, but so true!" It has given my love for the show new life in my heart, and I'm sure it has given the franchise new life all over the internet. I'm glad the show is going on, even today. Because it's true, even though the joke here is "It's only a children's card game", we know why we loved it: Because it was really about fighting for what you believe in and defending what you love against all odds - the card game was just a convenient and interesting backdrop for that. The spinoffs kind of forgot that, the soul of what this show was about slowly died - and that beautiful soul would have died completely and spent the rest of eternity in the Shadow Realm, had LittleKuriboh not stepped up and made YGOTAS.
LittleKuriboh , I once feared the content of your parody series, since I was (and still am) very easily offended as a devoted fan of things, but your work is genius and I love and support it with just as much enthusiasm as I do the original show itself. I especially thank you for thiefshipping…ANYWAY, I'm glad you took the show's message to heart and have continued fighting for what you believe in and defending what you love against all odds and opposition. Had you given up, I would be sick in bed, upset at being rejected by my dream college and missing my boyfriend and hating homosexuality for the hurt it's caused me - instead, I'm happy, I'm laughing, I'm loving this show and am able to forget about my boyfriend and even college, and my heart is once again open to all love. You have helped heal wounds deep in my heart that even my boyfriend couldn't relieve, and you've given me something new to love and enjoy every day. What I'm trying to say is, THANK YOU, LittleKuriboh. Your series has shaped my life almost as much as the original show did so many years ago, in the best possible ways. This episode was amazing. The Transformers noise for Johnson, the way Gozaburo angrily says "CHILDREN'S CARD GAMES?!", "Attention Duelists! My mullet is going to give you SUCH a spanking!", Crump-Tea hitting on Yugi, Joey's speech, that Ace Attorney animation. I think this is my favorite episode up to this point.
