I know. Especially with costs going up these days. Nobody’s gonna pay £30 to check the history of a used car they purchased. I certainly wouldn’t, knowing full well that £30 could be put to better use, such as heating or food. And a decision like that could be the customer’s death quell, as the video shows.
I remember how it used to so hard to find these old fifth gear episodes for free on youtube some 15 years ago. Now they're being uploaded.... And Johnny Smith was (and objectively still is) such a ride
Back in the day in the 90’s I worked at dealerships and body shops that would litterslly take a what should have been a written off rear collision cut the car in half and weld another half on.
Nice to see that Jonny made the effort, well groomed and dressed up. Haha! Scruffy sod! For the intro he looks like he had the camera set up in his bedroom and literally just rolled out n started talking haha! His TH-cam channel, The Late Brake Show, is SUPERB and shows just how much of a car nerd/obsessive he truly is. On Fifth Gear I used to get the impression that his car tastes were for the more sensible (read boring) cars. Watching Late Brake you realise that he is a true Petrolhead with a great taste of favourites of all types.
@@ObeseFurry Nah look at the seatbacks, at 5:20, his jacket/back goes further past the B pillar and u can't see the seatback.. Whereas at 5:04 you can actually see the seatback.
My reaction to the video: Whenever your car was bought new or secondhand, your responsible driving could guarantee that you'll enjoy driving that car even longer.
Most write offs are repaired to a perfectly acceptable standard. People should inform themselves better. Just because a vehicle is cat d, n, u or s is no reason not to buy it.
however... it is a reason to really check deep into it to ensure that it is the case that a proper repair has been done. Theres lots of cowboys out there!
Hi I love your videos I’m first to wow I wasn’t even trying to be oh my grandad had a Green Ford Focus 2.0 petrol it was a good car he passed away in 2014 sadly I wish he was still here all the best bye 👋🏻✋🏻

A change in the law is required to make a car's history freely available. Why should we pay for safety related information?
Agreed
Totally agree..

@@MrSupercar55Sounds like the UK isn’t as affordable a place to live as one would have hoped.
@@thegameshowgeek The term "rip-off Britain" floats around for good reason.

Yeah he's brilliant. Used to be Car Pervert but renamed it for obvious reasons lol
Funny how far back the seat is on the blue focus compared to the silver one when comparing them (5:04 vs 5:20)
The dashboard is closer in the silver one so it just looks that way .._..

@@akj2387 mb i didnt see that. It is still important tho to have the proper crash bars and stuff so still be wary of things like this.
To think that you put your entire family at risk, just because some one wanted to gain some cash for their overused car is insane
Love your show
