Momoko has been a favorite of mine since her Sakura Gakuin days. She was the only SG member to create a choreographed routine for the group under her Super Dance Unit - SSD. IMO, she was robbed of screen time during the Girls Planet 999 competition. This more than makes up for that. : ) I'm both happy for her, and strangely proud.
You may know what happened to the winners of GP999? I wish them success but I wonder if any of those winners would want to swap winning to be in Babymetal? The fraction of hope of Yui returning has gone. I do wonder why she has disappeared,? Her statement said she wanted to continue as Yui Munzo? Oh well the fox God certainly does not know! Glad one of your favourites has the third spot, she certainly deserves it.
@@Glynthepin I stopped following GP999 after Momoko left. She was the only reason I was following cause I wanted to vote for her. As for Yui, she has always been very shy, maybe the fanfare was too much for her and she just wants to live a normal life from then on. But we will still welcome her warmly and forever fondly if and when she does emerge. Not that she's not already well thought of even with her absence. She will always be a super lady in the Fukei's eyes.

I mean, I knew they were going to announce something big and I was 99,99 sure it was Momoko being promoted to an official member position but I expected Koba teasing us today to make the proper announcement tomorrow. But it wasn't that way and I had to triple check it before going nuts on that sm I apparently can't mention here (I wasn't listening to the stream because I don't want spoilers on the live versions of the new songs) 😁 Congrats to Momoko, now MOMOMETAL, she totally deserve it. Nice reaction. Sometime ago I found Babymetal online purely by accident. I was looking for something else completely unrelated. And was shortly hooked. Wanted to know what the lyrics were was part of the hook. It just got me looking more into them. And then I came across your youtube videos. And you helped me get even more hooked. Your excitement for them did that. I'm glad to see you post about them again after all this time. I started pulling for Momoko to be officially in Babymetal before the other avengers left. Something about her just stood out to me. I think it was how happy she was to be there. And then when she no longer was breathing hard after the songs ended. I knew she needed to be part of this. It saddened me when she tried out for a kpop group. I know Babymetal was "sealed" at the time. And a gal has to work. But I was hoping they would have asked her to be in Babymetal then so they could have her as part of the new album. Now I'm full of joy that she became the new member as she should have been some time ago. I'm still hoping to see some of your reactions to their new songs. Plus, since they announced there will be a new member, I kept listening to the new tracks listening for a new voice. Can't believe Feb 2020 was the last time we saw them! Really glad I went to the UK and met so many people. Even I have to admit the past years wasn't all that exciting and people have moved on, hopefully we get to see them at their peak again. They've become a very very different band now!

This is long overdue, Momoko has performed her apprenticeship brilliantly. We might get longer performances if they do some songs for moa/momoko ala Black BabyMetal. Happy times either way.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 As an eyewitness at the venue : Even before the announcement of Momometal, I was convinced that Momoko would be the 3rd, because : (1) She was captured by cameras and displayed on the huge backdrop screen as much as Moa during the show. (2) In the Shin-BMD, she was crucified on the transparent cross equally as Su / Moa. (As you know, BMD is a song to introduce the members. Shin-BMD was played 4 times in Budokan as well, but the girls' faces were covered with veils in foggy situation that time.)

We here on the West have almost none! Nothing on her health, or on her plans for the future. Thanks for this video, for me it felt like: finally. I do think the music suffered in a different way, having less voices meant certain songs felt like something was missing, well literally something was missing. A second voice singing with Moametal at the same time in Karate for example. Did you know the show from today and the shows from Jan, means they've performed all songs already ? I think they might have been general rehearsals and tomorrow they might perform all of them, because it's a concept album, they should be able to use them all and make it one lore story. Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing Momometal sing along with Moametal and Su-metal tomorrow (or whenever I can hear it - proper). Yes, they were strange times, I've recently seen my first show again since Babymetal just before covid. I went to see Bloodywood and they were great, good live sound and energy too.

Knowing how happy Sabaton are to support Babymetal, I don't think much dragging will be needed. Roll on Glasgow for me, my first time seeing them. Wasn't too bothered to go see Sabaton until I saw Babymetal on the poster. Then it became a "Take my money!" moment.

Actually this isn't all that unexpected here!! What gave it away for me was Yokohama performance. This is Momoko home town & considering how their last January performances ended with 3 coffins on stage. It was probably a given that Babymetal would be a trio again. Now, some hoping for a Yui return might be shocked & disappointed. However, given that 5 years has passed since her departure. There was little chance of her returning. In all Momoko earned her place here and am happy it's finally official. It will be interesting how they work that into their lore now given how important that has been to their overall presentation. Album itself is brilliant & much better then anticipated. It will be awesome to see how this plays out on on tour!! 🤘🦊💕

I really hope they allow her to fully participate in all legacy songs. Great initial reaction there! I saw the fancam footage from Black Night some hours later and I'd been spoiled about the ending, but looking back at it -- yeah, it was totally set up to lead one to believe Su and Moa would graduate (and now, enter the 'Mysterious Trio' as the new Babymetal). All done totally on purpose, of course; Koba being Koba.
Good to see you here. I was thinking that Momo would get it. Even though Yui is still on the Amuse site and she hasn't started her solo career I wonder if she left entertainment.
The new member was already announced from the beginning. Momoko's face appeared in an advertisement. I still had (and have) hopes that Yui will one day come back. After Babymetal stopped being a trio, it lost its appeal. Mikio's passing was also very difficult. The Japanese Kamiband was replaced by excellent musicians, but without identity. The hiatus was long. The children are now adults. The songs have become more serious. I felt like a father watching his children leave and the house become empty and sad. I hope that Babymetal returns renewed. It's certainly a great joy to see CallieMetal back!

I was thinking she should be the third with Pa Pa Ya's release. She's been in every performance video they've done as music videos. She was obviously learning the songs since she was singing along even without a microphone. I don't think I've ever seen any of the other avengers in things officially posted on youtube.
Koba was definitely trying to fool us into thinking that Su and Moa were retiring and I think he had a lot of people wondering because you could hear a pin drop while the lore video was playing as everyone held their breath.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 As an eyewitness at the venue : Even before the announcement of Momometal, I was convinced that Momoko would be the 3rd, because : (1) She was captured by cameras and displayed on the huge backdrop screen as much as Moa during the show. (2) In the Shin-BMD, she was crucified on the transparent cross equally as Su / Moa. (As you know, BMD is a song to introduce the members. Shin-BMD was played 4 times in Budokan as well, but the girls' faces were covered with veils in foggy situation that time.)

As a Japanese, do you have any local news on Yui-chan? We here on the West have almost none! Nothing on her health, or on her plans for the future.
I'm guessing that it may be something related to her contract with Amuse, that don't let her appear anywhere, nor be interviewed.
Also, it may be the contract's fault for them to have taken so long to add a new member.

I do think the music suffered in a different way, having less voices meant certain songs felt like something was missing, well literally something was missing. A second voice singing with Moametal at the same time in Karate for example.
Did you know the show from today and the shows from Jan, means they've performed all songs already ?
I think they might have been general rehearsals and tomorrow they might perform all of them, because it's a concept album, they should be able to use them all and make it one lore story.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing Momometal sing along with Moametal and Su-metal tomorrow (or whenever I can hear it - proper).
Yes, they were strange times, I've recently seen my first show again since Babymetal just before covid. I went to see Bloodywood and they were great, good live sound and energy too.

Knowing how happy Sabaton are to support Babymetal, I don't think much dragging will be needed. Roll on Glasgow for me, my first time seeing them. Wasn't too bothered to go see Sabaton until I saw Babymetal on the poster. Then it became a "Take my money!" moment.
This group has got me addicted since I downloaded tiktok on my phone on the Jan 3rd and saw a random clip Babymetal's "Catch me if you can" from the Red Sun Festival 2016. We all love Yui but momoko NOW momo-metal has been brilliant in their live shows . Hope to see/read/listen to her interviews and her english is very good somesay even better then su's

Actually this isn't all that unexpected here!! What gave it away for me was Yokohama performance. This is Momoko home town & considering how their last January performances ended with 3 coffins on stage.
It was probably a given that Babymetal would be a trio again. Now, some hoping for a Yui return might be shocked & disappointed.
However, given that 5 years has passed since her departure. There was little chance of her returning. In all Momoko earned her place here and am happy it's finally official.
It will be interesting how they work that into their lore now given how important that has been to their overall presentation. Album itself is brilliant & much better then anticipated. It will be awesome to see how this plays out on on tour!! 🤘🦊💕

I am so happy. She was always my favorite of the Avengers.(I never really liked the name Avengers...so MCU derivative) I have been screaming for 3 years now "Give Momoko Twin tails,a mic and a glove on her right hand and lets get on with loving her" They have finally pulled the trigger on what we have always known was basically inevitable.
I really hope they allow her to fully participate in all legacy songs. Black BABYMETAL especially and BMD etc. I am hoping for her to get matching twin tails like Moa... it's such a cute look and they are a BABYMETAL tradition and necessary for songs like Headbangerrr!

Great initial reaction there! I saw the fancam footage from Black Night some hours later and I'd been spoiled about the ending, but looking back at it -- yeah, it was totally set up to lead one to believe Su and Moa would graduate (and now, enter the 'Mysterious Trio' as the new Babymetal). All done totally on purpose, of course; Koba being Koba.
Good to see you here. I was thinking that Momo would get it. Even though Yui is still on the Amuse site and she hasn't started her solo career I wonder if she left entertainment.

The new member was already announced from the beginning. Momoko's face appeared in an advertisement. I still had (and have) hopes that Yui will one day come back. After Babymetal stopped being a trio, it lost its appeal. Mikio's passing was also very difficult. The Japanese Kamiband was replaced by excellent musicians, but without identity. The hiatus was long. The children are now adults. The songs have become more serious. I felt like a father watching his children leave and the house become empty and sad. I hope that Babymetal returns renewed. It's certainly a great joy to see CallieMetal back!

Hi, they also changed the logo, no more MOA's hearts💕, no more YUI's skull💀, and different SU's wings🪽🪽. It's a new era, not really a new beginning, but this way, they sealed and crystallised the 🍅YUI's era. It's not gone, it's still with us, but it's time to move on, "shinjita kono michi wo aruko-o".

I was thinking she should be the third with Pa Pa Ya's release. She's been in every performance video they've done as music videos. She was obviously learning the songs since she was singing along even without a microphone. I don't think I've ever seen any of the other avengers in things officially posted on youtube.
