    I watched another tutorial and barely understood what was happening. This is the 2nd granny square tutorial of yours I’ve watch and oh my goodness you are the best tutorial maker like ever. I absolutely love the way you explain each and every step and slow down enough for people to follow along and encourage people to pause to catch up. Please never stop doing what you do, you are truly helping grow this wonderful community

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE your instructions. Slow enough for a newbie like me, but not TOO slow. Very plain and easy to understand. If anyone I know needs a video of how to crochet a certain stitch, I will always send them to you!!! Thanks so much!!!

    I was following along and writing down as you were explaining it. Then when it was finished, I watched it again and looked at my notes to be sure I had it written down right (which I did). This will be my first attempt at making a granny square. My maternal grandmother showed me how to crochet over 35+ years ago. Just this year alone I have crocheted scarves, baby blankets and booties. Now, if I can get this down right, granny squares. I think my grandmother is smiling down from heaven knowing that her youngest granddaughter is doing what she had been doing for so many years.

    I'm finding your videos wonderfully inspiring thanks. I simply cannot understand how so many people "dislike or downvote" craft videos. People like you give this advice freely and for the love of sharing beautiful handmade crafted items. Years ago, we paid big $$$ for magazines - or lessons - to learn these techniques - and now we can get it for free on YT - yet people will dislike them? Why? I guess you can't please everyone.

    This tutorial is amazing and very easy to follow. My mother taught my siblings and me how to crochet when we were kids(along with cooking, sowing, etc, while my stepdad taught us how to fish, start a fire, etc). I recently took up crocheting because I quit smoking and needed something to do with my hands. After relearning all my basic stitches and making an endless supply of swatches, I found this tutorial. I completed my first square today and will make a few more practice ones and then I think I'll be ready for a blanket. Thanks again for making this tutorial for us novices. With great tutorials like this, I'm well on my way to being an adept of the craft.

    thanks for this version of the granny square. I enjoy doing this one more than the other one. instead of making small squares, I'm just gonna keep going around and around until I have a huge blanket for my baby. hopefully I can get it done before I give birth to him at the end of Nov. Again thank you for your help and technique on crocheting. 😃

    I'm about to start crocheting for the first time and I've enjoyed your tutorials SOOO MUCH. I love that you repeat it every time. Yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2. That was so relaxing, and the fact that you point out each stitch that you're going through, just so awesome. I can't wait to get started and I will 100% be using your tutorials!!!

    Despite the difference between the UK and US lingo, I have found your tutorials very informative, even for projects for which I just need a refresher. I've been crocheting since I was a little girl - my grandmother taught me how to do several crafts before I could even write (I taught myself to knit, though, as an adult). But that means I've forgotten many things in over 40 years. Thank you for not only helping me remember those things but also teaching me a few more nice things like this granny square, which I like more than the traditional. I especially like the way you transition to each new round - I've never seen it done that way before but it makes so much more sense! And wastes no yarn or stitches as I was taught or I've seen in other tutorials.

    5yrs after making this video and it's still going strong - they're timeless! Thanks a bunch for making this! I'm an experienced knitter and just recently started designing. But I was thinking, I dont have all of the tools avail to be a great designer unless I learn to crochet. I know how to chain stitches and to fiddle around a bit but I dont know the terms of whatever it is I'm doing so cant read a pattern and such. And I had an idea for a friend's baby blanket so here I am. And what a perfect video for me! Not too slow but not too fast. And I LOVE the fact that you gave places to pause which takes the thinking of when to do that out of the equation, so we simply focus on the stitch. I've got a lot to learn still... I'll say, you crocheters are champs bc boy does my wrist and hand hurt. Lol! I think I'm holding everything too tight, so as I said, I have a lot yet to learn. Thanks again! I look forward to learning more from your timeless videos. 🙂

    • @hibernogirl
      @hibernogirl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      or it could have been a 4.5 mm! take note of the yarn you are using and on the label they suggest knitting needle size or crochet hook.

    Ok I am sobexcited I can hardly contain myself. I live in the US and have been crocheting off and on since i learned a little as a kid. I never had anyone to teach me when I was young otger than the lady that initially taught me. A few years back I became disabled and I spend a lot of time at home añd to much of it is on line 😅. However thank God for You Tube tutorials!!! And NO all tutorials are not alike. I have watched many different ones and usually land my yarn and hiok in a bag of frustratiin and back online. Then one fabulous day I came across your channel. Bella you have to be a Saint. You have the patience of Job! Your soothing calm and assuring voice is such a blessing and your simplicity in the directions make it possible dor just about anyone to learn. I still have a few iasues with mt Granny Square for some reason it always seems crooked 😂 butI am on my second solid granny square and they match and are lovely! ❤. I am so excited I could shout! I cant wait to finiah what I am going to attemot to make. I will keep you posted and let you know if I complete it. Again thank you with sincere tears of joy all the way from Texas in the US! ❤😊😊❤
