I really adore and appreciate your garden. It is realistic but done with love and passion. I started doing flowers in pots on my apartment porch. These tours make me a little jealous, but also excited for when I will have a chance to do my own garden. And I’m learning from your learning before i get there 😊
I have been told slugs don't like onions and garlic, 5he plants give off an odour you might try putting a few in each bed rather than clumping. To see if it works.
I love your garden and this Kristi era. My goodness. I bought 3 strawberry bunches and I thought it was one plant. I have a decent sized massive pot I put them in because I knew they were invasive. I had NOOOOO idea they were MANY plants in one container. Explains why it’s SOOOO overpopulated. Guess I have to figure something else out. 😂 I am so excited for the canning videos!
I have started pre sprouting my carrot seeds before planting them. Put on damp paper towels in a plastic container and cover. Usually sprout in 2 to 3 days. Recommend planting when you see the first ones just barely sprout or they can break off or grow into the paper towel. Then take 2 cups water and add 1 TB corn starch bring to a boil to Thicken. Cool to room temp and add this mixture and seeds to a zip lock baggie. Get your area ready to plant and cut the corner of the bag( not too big) run the bag down the row, letting the mixture flow. Bury lightly with compost and keep soil moist. Mine come up in 7 days instead of the 14 it used to take.
Just in case you guys were looking for tips on your orchard, one thing I would do is completely clear the grass about 4-5 ft around each tree and mulch. The grass causes all kinda of competition and it usually wins.
I lovvvve the gardening content Kristi! I’m an OOOOOOOG sub from the good old beauty days on TH-cam and this is so relevant to me now so I’m stoked on the work you’re putting in to keeping TH-cam! Thankssss for real I’ve pretty much learned over the years that potatoes will grow in the worst dirt conditions. They’re the leasssst picky once you get the basics figured out in your area right So, the Ruth something method is the basis of this straw mulch. I know it’s super popular right now cuz it’s super easy and that’s the key. Potatoes will grow, in pretty much any dirt. You don’t need to fertilize, nadda. But again, region and soil factors are a thing now because of big industry and whatever Love you and so glad I found this channel🤍✊🏼🖤Xx, E
Ahh the potato cliffhanger! I'm so bummed I just learned about this channel! I would have subbed when it started. I love gardening! I'm so jealous that you can grow peas this time of year. I'm in Texas, zone 9 and we have to wait for fall. I tried scarlet runner beans this year and not a single one survived our 10 days of rain. I had to pull all of the tomatoes after that too because the rain and heat brought disease. I was so sad but thankfully I had already started seeds in trays so it wasn't so bad. Snails have been my biggest issue. Those little $h!@ demolished my cucumbers. I ended up getting sluggo too but I'm still finding them on my cowpeas.
FOR YOU SLUGS! Kristi! Get some nesting ducks :) They will eat all of your slugs and honestly any other pests that come around. They also lay a ton of really beautiful eggs and are just the most adorable little guys! :)
Our garden got wiped out during a flood. I’m posting a video of the flood in august. I was mostly sad about losing our bees. I was heart broken. Your garden makes me so sad all over lol. So happy for you guys!!
I love that you share everything about what you’ve learned, how you’ve tried things. More info, all the info! I aspire to have a garden like this one day!
Wow, everything looks awesome!! I am so curious about those potato bags that may be something I would be able to do. I have limited space so the bag thing might work I cant wait until your next video to see how they did. Thank you for sharing.
I love these videos it’s so nice to see people enjoying growing their own food and showing everyone how it’s not easy but to keep going and learning and you will get there love that ❤❤
We’re considering the PNW as a place to retire one day. Do you experience extreme temperatures much? I have chronic pain and need to avoid extremes. We’re thinking Oregon is probably as far north as we can go but not sure about Washington. I love your garden, btw!
Look for a local place that Sells bulk compost. Get a half yard of it if your garden is small, more if it's bigger. Amend your soil before planting and it'll go nuts
It’s ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. I LOVE IT AND YOU BOTH. CAN I BUY 1/2 acre and live there if I have a camper?? I works clean and all ha ha ha. Tiny home ??? Ha ha
Have you guys tried the golden raspberry they are so sweet and spread prolifically second year and I dug up 10 new plants to share with neighbors! So yummy! No tartness at all
Isn’t that so frustrating?! We don’t do anything tbh. We had great success this year with them being minimally damaged but I ASSUME that’s because we just have SO many. We have literally TONS of strawberry plants so it’s easy to get a big harvest when we have some sacrificial ones: we lined our garden this year with garlic and onion plants which I think helped reduce some pest pressure as well
Def adding to my garden with an awesome suggestion by RBK of growing Sugar Snap Peas!!!! 🏡 P.s cannot wait to see next video about harvesting!!! Ty both!!
I think the “knee high” phrase you’re looking for is “knee high by the 4th of July” which is an old superstition about how tall your corn plants need to be in order to actually get corn before a freeze
It is always something new every year with our garden. We live in the southeast, so we are harvesting tomatoes. They ended up having "bottom rot," yes, brown bottoms because they needed calcium. Thank goodness we were able to fix them! We've been making tomato sauce all week, YUM! You are such an inspiration to me, and sharing your successes!!
We cut up and dehydrate the greens in a dehydrator. We’ve also diced whole onions and freeze dried them then throw them in a food processor to make a powder
Too much nitrogen will give you loads of foliage but not the tubers for potatoes 🥔 make sure to add potassium and phosphorus as well. I take all my banana peels and put in water for a couple days and I pour the water on my potato 🥔 plants and it’s a great way to really use the entire banana 🍌
I had the tips of my sugar snaps getting eaten off by unknown creatures. I added a light row cover cloth clipped to the fence to shield them, and that solved it. It must have been birds. It didn’t come from the ground. Great update!!
Highly recommend that you look into Egyptian Walking Onions. You will literally never need to plant onions again, they are PROLIFIC. And I’m growing in zone 3/4.
Have you tried growing ground cherries? They are related to tomatoes and come in their own little fairy pod. It tastes like pineapple candy! I bet they'd be a hit with kids. They're my favorite fruit/veg ever, so delicious
My peppers haven't produced anything this year 😢. I have potatoes growing, squash, pumpkins, Roma tomatoes, big boy tomatoes, carrots, and strawberries. I would love to grow snow peas. They are delicious and great to snack on
Build a movable fence and let your quail and chickens feed on the slugs. You can move the fence around to various spots in your garden and they will eat your garden insect pests.
Can you do a video on how you store your veggies? My husband and I are wanting to get into gardening but are worried about storage and not wasting food. Love you both!
Thanks Kristi and Zach, I loved the info on the Snow Peas and the BONUS Strawberry yield! I’m going to listen again and take LOTS of notes.❤
Not me thinking you were flicking the peas just for fun 🤣🤣🤣
Love love love this video!!!
I’m sorry, but that was perfect timing how you said you’re going to teach your kiddo about gardening and BAM ants all over your feet.

Looks like you need to invest in, if you haven’t already that is, a freeze dryer.
My 21 month old lovess pickled beets too 😂 so do my husband and I but especially my husband and son 😂

I will definitely try this method next time I do carrots!

wonder what's happened with the mushrooms!
UnPEAlievable tehehe
Salt works great for slugs!

get ducks and your slug problem will go quack
You are strawberry rich!
Soo cool ♥️🥹 beautiful garden, awesome work y’all !
Oh my god guys! This is incredible! Thanks so much for the tour :D
This channel brings me comfort 💚 Wishing you a bountiful harvest 🪴
Thank you for posting! These are my favorite videos 💚🌿 hope to have a garden like this some day.
Cant wait for the next video, really curious how many potatoes you will have, really enjoy these videos😊
Literally cannot wait for the harvest videos 🙌🙌
We have some good ones coming! Beets, potatoes, snow peas, strawberries garlic and onions!

Oh man, your garden = goals! I'd love to do something like this eventually (but not so big!).
Our garden got wiped out during a flood. I’m posting a video of the flood in august. I was mostly sad about losing our bees. I was heart broken. Your garden makes me so sad all over lol. So happy for you guys!!

Have you tried eating the radish pods? They are really good (I like them more then regular radishes) in stir fry!
Yes! I’ve only eaten them raw tho. They’re very similar to peas tbh!
Could you do a video about fertilization? Or point to a good resource? I think it’s why my garden is so shrimpy
Look for a local place that Sells bulk compost. Get a half yard of it if your garden is small, more if it's bigger. Amend your soil before planting and it'll go nuts

Cant wait for the harvests ! ❤
Do you guys have problems with deer eating your plants? Or do you have it all fenced off tho keep the deer out?
We have an 8’ deer and elk fence (plastic crappy one) outside the entire garden to keep them out and fortunately haven’t had any issues so far!
I like your garden. Looks very natural. Who are those dogs wandering around? Do you still have that curly one? ❤
Have you guys tried the golden raspberry they are so sweet and spread prolifically second year and I dug up 10 new plants to share with neighbors! So yummy! No tartness at all
Love your garden! I can't wait for more videos guys, you are doing a wonderful job 😊. I love supporting you and your beautiful family, God bless!
I had slugs but i don't understand were they came from? I did a pot garden that a squirls and bunnies killed my garden
I live in the middle of New York City not one patch of gardening land in site and I love these videos so much!
So excited for this video!
Y’all’s garden is absolute GOALS!
Okay please tell me how you keep pests from your Strawberries. I tried a couple just in pots this year and ants and bugs just destroy them
Isn’t that so frustrating?! We don’t do anything tbh. We had great success this year with them being minimally damaged but I ASSUME that’s because we just have SO many. Gorgeous garden tour
I love this
Thank you so much 😊
I can't believe you got sets to get that big! My onions were pretty small this year and I think it's because I didn't fertilize them enough.
It’s SO hard! We can’t believe it either, we fertilized with fish emulsion a few times and it seemed to help a LOT. But it’s so hard to know
Beautiful garden! Love you guys, hard working people ❤🌱
My husband is allergic to peas 😢 so I didn't grow any thing year. But I did some green beans and they are very satisfying also! Love your garden ❤️❤️
Watch out for snakes under the strawberries. They like to hide out there… oh wait, you guys don’t have snakes right…💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
Haha omg I can’t imagine; no we don’t have any real snakes other than garter snakes which aren’t scary at all
Your garden is beautiful!!! Than you for sharing 💕
Def adding to my garden with an awesome suggestion by RBK of growing Sugar Snap Peas!!!! 🏡 P.s cannot wait to see next video about harvesting!!! Ty both!!
loved seeing your garden!! pls do videos on cooking/canning/pickling i would LOVE to watch you do that!!
I really wanna throw up a tent and live on your land ❤...so kool !!! Yall are amazing 🤩!!!
If I can find the old 1911 husbandry book my dad found I will totally send it to you. It has lots of old timey advice for gardens and stuff.
Wow! You guys have made your property so rustic and gorgeous. Thank you for sharing 🙌❤️🇦🇺
I think the “knee high” phrase you’re looking for is “knee high by the 4th of July” which is an old superstition about how tall your corn plants need to be in order to actually get corn before a freeze
I have garden envy 😂❤ I live in an apartment right now so no garden this year
WOW! You can really see the growth! Congrats guys, it’s amazing! ❤
Thank you so so much!!!

How do u make onion powder
We cut up and dehydrate the greens in a dehydrator. We’ve also diced whole onions and freeze dried them then throw them in a food processor to make a powder
kristi we need you on your main channel!!! where did you go???
The Raspberries have chlorosis :) Everything look so good!
Love it! I don't have the space, and I kill anything green, but y'all make me want a garden! So impressed!
❤❤❤

We have a TON growing all along our fence line! We haven’t used them much because I keep replanting them to create a “pest barrier “ along the fence.
Snow peas are thin snap peas are thick. Those are snow peas! My favorite.
Dont forget to "cure" your onions! Id love to see a video of your process!
You should collab with Tick Creek Ranch Kristi!!
Have you tried growing ground cherries? They are related to tomatoes and come in their own little fairy pod. It tastes like pineapple candy! I bet they'd be a hit with kids. They're my favorite fruit/veg ever, so delicious
Omg we haven’t but we definitely will!! Thank you for the suggestion!!
😊
“Not puny loser” hahahah
Just here to show you love and support, love everything that you are doing 🥰🫶🏼💪🏼
Growing anything in Phoenix this time of year is brutal! 😢 Love your home!
The slugs here in the pnw are awful. I had to use sluggo too. It’s not the worst thing we could use!
Egg shells crumbled will help keep the slugs away, helped me hope it helps you.
If there any bites bother you later you can mix water and baking soda to make a paste and put it on the bites.
I sprinkled seeds in my backyard thinking they were flowers and now I have a section of peas growing on our wired fence 😂🫛
Can you do a video on how you store your veggies? My husband and I are wanting to get into gardening but are worried about storage and not wasting food.
Love you both!
If you plan on canning, take us along for the journey !
My onions are puny loser size 😪😂
I think if you start them from seeds, they take more than a year to harvest
That’s strawberry patch is unreal.
I know! It really took off this year. going to expand it this fall into our orchard too!
To me....when weeds fully grow they are pretty beautiful
Haven't seen you post in so long! Hope you start again soon.
