SO Hilarious to me that I was like “she stomps because she wants pettins!” But you guys let me know that means she wants to get it on. This is what google says “Squatting is a sign of submission - so she is shifting into the mating position for a rooster. If you don't have a rooster in your flock, she will often see YOU as the rooster. The squat also signals that she will soon begin to lay eggs.” Lmfao Sorry ladies, I shall not be mating with you BUT I will give you scratchins lol
Oooo! If you live near a Natural History museum, you can contact them and see if you can bring in the rocks and learn about them. We had those rocks in our flower beds in Southern California. When one cracked, my brother found fossils. He cracked a few more and took them to the museum. We learned so much about the valley we grew up in from that visit. It was pretty cool. (Prehistoric basin, had been all ocean, types of animals that would have been in the area. One of our rocks we always thought looked like a jaw. It was!
My mother cuts down honeysuckle from her yard and gives it to her chickens all the time. She's been doing this for 8 years with no issues. No need to worry!
Passionflower is also a host plant to gulf frits! It grows so amazingly well even when they devour it. Chickens may get a few snacks too. What a great spot for a passionflower vine!
I love seeing the homestead come together. The little glimpses of nature around your home is charming, to say the least. Can't wait to see the chicken house again when the plants have grown over it. :D
I love this so much. I'm in my early thirties and the more times goes on and the more I want to talk my partner into getting an house in the middle of nowhere, grow our own veggies and get chickens. Eventually it'll happen 😂
I’m not sure you would be interested but I live in the top part of the Texas - called the Panhandle - and my parents just moved into a house that has Trumpit Vines - it doesn’t stay green all year but definitely comes up and is ‘invasive’ if you are looking for something that will get big leafy and green with cool orangish redish flowers! We don’t typically get as much moisture as yall do in Washington, but have had an unusually wet year and the vine seems to be doing great with all the added water! Love y’all’s channel, and wishing you all the best at getting your dream yard!❤
Your garden, greenhouse, and coops are literally a fairy hobbit dream with those perennials. You guys have done SO much work to that property, amazing!!!
I absolutely adore watching your woodland cottage dreams come true. Coneflowers are some of my favorites. The goldfinches love to glean the seed heads in the fall. So cute to watch them! Also, why is Zack's hair so glorious? I'm jealous of those braids!
Love the education I got from this video. What you've done with the plantings is amazing. Love it. Fun to see how the chickens respond to you! Pickles is her Mama's girl 😉 Just to connect makeup to this, I think the Beauty Blender setting spray smells like honeysuckle which takes me back to my childhood! ❤
I am struggling so bad with my adhd today and putting this on helped calm me and relax so much. The planting in the beginning was lovely to put on and helped me at work to actually get something done. God I love this version of Kristi so freaking much. You're so passionate and I love it
I'm so jealous of your property! It's so beautiful 😭 It's impressive to see what you guys have done with everything! I saw your video when you first bought it and talked about all of your ideas that you wanted to do. It's satisfying to see it all unfold 🖤🍄🪴
My hard learned garden lesson is to plant new trees in the fall time! They just do so much better than a spring plant in my experience. Exciting developments! 💕
Hi Kristi and Zach! I saw this vid on TikTok to make the wiring practically invisible. They painted the wire black! It was pretty cool! I’ll see if I can find the vid again and tag you.
If you have some soured milk or just buy some skim milk and put it on your twisty baby every three weeks or so it should help with the transplant shock its also great for prevention of blight on vegetable plants.
Your home and property looks so peaceful. My husband and I love trees and everything green. But I’m not much of a gardener which is why I mostly just have hostas and hydrangeas in my flower beds 😂. But what you do Kristi is so inspiring.❤ edit: wow two dozen quail eggs?! So cool!
My granny had honeysuckle on her property my whole childhood, which is where I grew up. And I loved eating it. She never pruned it or anything and it didn't get evasive or take over at all. It did grow up the side of the garage she had them planted by, but that's only where they grew. And the chickens and pigs didn't mess with them too much. Only ate the bugs that the honeysuckle attracted. I miss those days.
Your coop is so dreamy! Y’all did such a good job! You should paint roll the hardware cloth black so it is more see through, my mind was blown when I first saw it done!
awe perfect day! i love watching these on bubble bath days 🫶🏻 also camellias are my absolute favourite flower, stunningggg also i know you were looking for business ideas a few videos ago, and i think you would make the happiest little flower lady.
Kristi and Zack thank you so much for this channel and content. Your channel gives me such joy. I have a chronic pain condition so I can't garden. I just adore watching you guys. Lots of love from Ireland ❤❤❤
Love geraniums! They are super easy to propagate, just clip a branch into a “Y” and put directly into the ground and keep wet. I use them to fill in and keep the weeds away 😅
I love the set up of this chicken run, I’m really looking forward to future footage when we can see everything growing in! You know what would also look awesome around your coop? Multi stemmed smaller trees! Amelanchier - shadbush is a great one. Birch trees if you have the space for them and of course lilacs and magnolia’s. I don’t know if the amelanchier is considered invasive. But it has stunning leave coloration in fall and you can eat the berries!
We have a lilac planted on the side it didn’t flower this year but hopefully once it’s established it will next year. The service berry tree is a great idea too!
@@sweetlifeofzackkristi9574 is the common name Service Berry? Thanks, I’m going to remember that! I could only find shadbush, that’s why I added the Latin name, that always works 😁
The beds are going to look gorgeous when they get established! Just a heads up, the ornamental oregano is invasive. I had some in one bed in my yard and now it is everywhere. Like everywhere. I've become ruthless with pulling it because it completely chokes out everything around it. Calendula is so pretty, self sows and is medicinal. One of my faves. ❤
It's so fun how we evolve. I am a long, long time RBK fan, although I haven't bought a palette in almost a year because I've been spending all of my spare cash on my garden. I've gardened for a long, long time, but finally have the freedom to make it a priority. LOVE this!
I showed my husband your coop and told him “I want this” 😂 I saw this tiktok where she painted the metal fencing with black paint and it looked like it disappeared and looked so good.

They sure seem to love the pettins though.
Omg I was JUST about to give you a heads up! I saw it on TikTok the other day and when I saw this I was like, oh no! 😅😂
I went straight to the comments when you said that hoping that people were nice when they educated lmao
with my parrot I just keep to petting only her head and neck, to avoid that kind of stimulation...👀
I'm pretty sure it applies to chickens too :)

I love you and Zach's interactions with animals ❤️
Surprised the manager didn't walk up and assign you a section 🤣
Paint your chicken wire black with a sponge roller. It’s makes it almost transparent. Game changer!!

watching these videos to manifest this life for myself 💗
Can we see a video of what these plants look like after they have some time to grow and spread? These beds are going to be gorgeous!!!!
omg you guys should consider growing a climbing rose over the front of the chicken run! would be SO stunning 😍

The "stomp" means they want/ are ready to mate.
It all looks so beautiful
🤣 that is too funny!
Yeah the crouch is them preparing lol
@@sweetlifeofzackkristi9574you are their rooster 😂
I have always Since I was a kid been obsessed with fossils and wow I’d just die to find that!!!
Have you heard of painting the wire mesh black to make it more invisible? Seems like a cool idea. ❤

The calmness of this video is helping my anxiety right now that I woke up with. Thank you 🙏
I just saw a video on tiktok this morning where a lady painted the chickenwire black. You can see in much better!!
Love hearing the Kristi voice for pickles ! Lol you guys have truly transformed your property. I can't wait to see how everything comes together. ❤

I absolutely love the idea for the English garden! That will be so sweet next to the chicken coop!
So beautiful, you and Zach put in so much work, but it’s worth it! Just gorgeous ❤

That leaf fossil is so rad!
Yay it's garden time!
I LOVE English gardens. They're so beautiful. That is a perfect spot for one!
I would love to see a quail update! 🥰
Love you so much mama. Please start breaking up those root balls when you plant. Lol
We do for all of the rootbound stuff but tbh it hasn’t been a problem with anything so far
@@zacks.4655 you guys are doing an amazing job. The property is beautiful. Thanks for bringing us along for the journey.

I LOVE your Circa Survive shirt!❤

Right?! 🍂
Love geraniums! They are super easy to propagate, just clip a branch into a “Y” and put directly into the ground and keep wet. I use them to fill in and keep the weeds away 😅
Also be aware of the honeysuckle, mine died because I was not aware it needed to be trimmed or the branches choke itself out. Loved this video.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll have to try that with the geraniums
