Hear me out: Do this again with Necrons, but paint in REVERSE on the outside of the resin block to make it look like some kind of assembly/portal line.
I wonder if you could orient the mirrors so that it looks like the tunnel descends into the floor. Awesome.
Somewhere out there, Steve was having a really great Friday until watching this a few minutes ago. Now he’s going to go drink himself to sleep
As a Steve I both take offense and also admit I do overthink 😂
Great diorama!
This is one of the Coolest Dioramas I have ever seen
I’m sure that when Squidmar was born his first words after coming out of the womb were “I’m here for the grand reveal”.
I think with the weather being what it is right now , the coolest of content from Emil is much appreciated. Thank you for the wonderful expedition into the cold :)
As a man named Steve... bro you did me dirty 😂 I'll go put myself in a corner again thanks Emil.
That is a very neat terrain piece. Only note I'd have, and I don't even know if this is possible, but feel like the infinite effect would've been better if it was angled slightly downward, so that the hall of specimens extended at a slope downward into the planet, since right now it makes the hallway look longer than the hill itself.
I’m new to the world of miniatures and I’m constantly blown away by the art in this community 🤩 no shortage of inspiration!
Such an awesome idea, looks great.
That is so brilliant!
I Especially Love How It Ingeniously Makes a Small Diorama So Much More Expansive
Impressive you got Knaak to write the novel! I loved his Dragonlance books back in the days.
Mind bowing as usual. You guys do amazing work.
Congratulations and great pick on getting Richard A Knaak!! I grew up reading his novels, and short stories, and was always my fav. He is going to kill this!😎👍
Offtopic…
Currently working on a forest terrain for my warhamme r40k games, and this got me pumped to finish it and start a snow/ice one!
So I love the look of old practice sci-fi and fantasy VFX and your intro got me thinking when doing this sort of terrain piece what about making the back either totally flat or a parabolic curve, and then having a mat painting to marry up to that shape? You could have used that effect to make it look like this rocky outcropping was actually was a part of an actual mountain, or you could use it make a fortification look like there is an actual city being guarded, or behind your oasis there could be an endless desert.
