This week, we got challenged by Nerdforge, Jazza, Rahul Kohli and Matthew Mercer from Critical Role to paint warhammer miniatures in the most chaotic situations possible. In a racecar, In a Blizzard, while getting electric chocks (emulating labour pains) and getting a tattoo.

Paint a mini upside down
This was great to watch! Maybe you guys should try painting whilst slowly ramping up a treadmill?
Paint a miniature on bungee jump or on parachute jump ;)
I'd love to see you guys try to paint, while going fast in an aeroplane.
Painting in a very hot sauna! :D

Painting in a Sauna would be fun to watch - after that blizzard Lucas needs some warmth - perhaps first a 200m swim session then into the sauna and paint
It might work best with a dry sauna I think 🤔

I dont think that a dry sauna would make it much more comfortable but the paints might not like a "real" sauna and birchleaves floggings ;)

Ice sauna XD, cold enough to be a bad time but not cold enough to freeze the water in the pallet

I like how all of Lukas' challenges made him mildly uncomfortable and Emil's were just... pain...
I wouldn't call freezing your hands off in a blizzard "mildly uncomfortable", I think I might actually prefer the birthing pain machine XD

Great video, and just goes to show how good these two are at painting. My ideas are painting a mini:
1. while hanging upside down.
2. while running a half (full?) marathon.
3. while it's being 3D printed.
Birth-pain one was hilarious 😂
Ideas:
Painting in a sauna.
Painting with strobe lights as only lightsource
Painting while doing a spinnclass (Dvs Spinningpass)
Painting between sets in a bodybuilding workout (preferably arms )

I don’t know if anyone will notice my comment, but what do you think of the idea for painting:
painting a miniature after a significant workout in the gym with emphasis on your hands? (possibly dumbbells, barbell or other strength training)
Or something similar, the meaning is the same but the test is different - after rock climbing. hah?!

Needs to be a vs so you both do the same challenge and then see who gets the best results

Ok. Now we need to see the challengers’ reactions to the paint jobs.
It would be weird to paint a mini underwater, if you could figure out how to not have the paint escape. Pre thinned lol
Those astronaut glasses used to train motion sickness, that flips your view upside down. Or vr-headset and a camera, painting in third person perspective!
3rd person perspective is an incredible idea!
I say you guys should try painting with a deadline in a snake enclosure. That would be really fun to watch, 30 mins painting with an anaconda. I think you guys should also try paint whilst doing one of those indoor skydive experiences. That would be intresting.
Some other potenyial challenges:
1. Paint a mini while out to a nice dinner with your wife.
2. Paint a mini while in a sauna.
3. Random color generator: every time you change paints, you have to use a randomly selected color.
Omg yes to number 1. But to make it worse, he has to do it without her knowing, so he needs to keep making excuses to get up from the table to go and paint in the bathroom or something where Lukas is waiting 🤣

I am new to miniature painting.. so my challenge to you both would be... You both have a day to teach someone like me to paint a miniature. Whoever's student does the best job, wins.
This would hopefully identify some of the challenges us common folk face when painting.
Again, love what you both do.
Bouncing off this, the Try guys do a show where they have an expert chef in one room and one of them in another and they have to cook working just with mine direction. I could see a spin on that for this. Like first mini by phone instruction, then that same mini with the guys in the room supporting and teaching. Then compare the different results

The funniest was surely seeing Lucas paint job in a blizzard !
That made me realize how hard it must have been...
I love that the tattoo artist is a berserk fan.
This was the funniest vid I've seen on youtube for quite awhile haha. Had no idea that Rahul Kohli was a fellow hobbyist, that also put a big smile on my face.
We've all seen painting challenges by now, but this was something new. Great work, thanks for the entertainment!
Of course, the only possible thing left to do now is painting miniatures in a submarine, or in space :D
imagine you're painting in calm with a warm environment and it's still worse than some Swedish in absolute nightmare conditions

I think an Amusement Park ride would be a good one. It doesn't have to be a roller coaster any of the rides would do.

I love you guys - you are amazing painters and videographers. And I know that to a certain extent you have to bow the knee to TH-cam, as that's how you provide for your family. I don't begrudge that one bit.
But maybe just do a painting video? I miss those like you did in the early days. They might not have been as traffic inducing, but they were helpful. As a painter, I appreciated the learning that took place when I watched them.

Here are my challenges:
- Painting while in a moshpit, or at a dexthcore gig. 🤘
- Painting while doing goat yoga. 🐐
- Painting while upside down. 🔃
- Painting while one person is the eyes, and the other person is the hands. For example: Emil is blindfolded and Lucas tells/guides him while painting. Emil can’t see the mini, and Lucas can’t touch the paint/mini. 👁️✍️

To "activate" the arm/hand muscles: paint in between pushups. 1pushup every minute/ half minute.
Shout-out to the Challenge DMs as well. They did very well (and are great people)
Maybe try the blizzard with oil paints? Turpentine is apparently liquid down to -57! Would be a fun challenge too with how slowly it must dry at that temperature!
I know these are silly youtube memey challenges BUT it is good to collaborate and it also normalises mini painting a lot more

I usel to paint at sea, was a captain on a oil tanker, and painting during a storm on the North Sea is quite challenging!

Painting in the sauna would be quite the thing I think!
I think a fun idea would be alternating painting where you are both painting a mini each, and at randomly intervals have to swap with the other person and carry on what they were doing and elaborate on it but you never know when you are going to have to switch and can't tell eachother the plan with the paint job.
Summer challenge: paint a miniature while on a swimming pool while you are on a floater and your friend is swimming and making you move around all the time

Ok that blizzard one is probably the one i’d never want to do. I feel like I’d get frostbite by doing that and if it gets bad enough there’s no coming back from that.

There’s all the obvious ones, like a rollercoaster, a stunt plane, but maybe paint something whilst also trying to do an escape room. It’s all against the clock, could be interesting 🤔

So fun! Great episode. Suggestion for a summer edition, painting while riding a bike. Painting with oil-paints underwater. Make your own paints with mat-medium and what you find around the house and in the woods.

Confirmed Emmel is a Slaanesh worshipper ;) I did a short series of painting miniatures on a train (pretty easy), and I hoped in a pie in the sky kind of way to one day take it to the moon.... Literally... So. With that in mind, here are my suggestions in the order I wanted to try them: Speedboat - Helicopter - Rocket to Outerspace. A plane journey I decided would be too easy.
I would also suggest a bunch more that could fit into this challenge! Painting a miniature in the dark! Painting a miniature outside in 35 degrees centegrade or more heat. Painting miniatures during a tandem skydive.
If you get stuck for ideas, let me know LOL
Could do a charity sky dive where you both paint a mini each whilst plummeting to earth, we can then vote on which mini is the best painted and then you could raffle them off with the proceeds going to a selected charity/s? I'm not sure on legalities/logistics etc. but I think that would make a great video 😂 Thank you for the content as always guys 👍
here are some ideas for you, painting while icebathing, on a spinning wheel/chair, while it rains, during a fitness workout, hanging head down, while swinging in a hammock, on a rollercoaster... just to name a few.
