As a hobbyist programmer, I geniunely think this is impresive. Making an emulator is not as trivial as you may think. It's the type of project that requires lots of time if you're not using an external library to do it for you. I've always found looking at old programs like this very fascinating. (And even if it isn't, it has a similar vibe)
i've never seen an emulator like this wire the sound data directly to the midi drivers ... that's fascinating the only other emulators i can think of that do that are j2me emulators
The fact it uses midi is kinda cool but the fact its only mapped to """"square wave"""" and seemingly doesnt even take note length or pitch bends into account makes it eapecially terrible
there is an emulator that breaks the game. i think is only usable on older computers (i think) the only thing that makes this bad is that the audio uses a midi converter that can't do note slides, the hud is glitchy and it is slow
I got as surprised when I found out its available for windows, on Android you can find it as "Fluid" or "Magic Fluids", both are similar but made by different developers. Good luck!
I remember watching a video like this but it was a Sega Genesis emulator and if I remember correctly, a Sonic game. I don't remember the exact name of that emulator but the sound was freaky as well.
@ Alright yeah, I thought wrong... but I still do rememeber the emulator making the sound bad that whenever I get on those crumbling platforms in Sonic 1 the sound made me burst into laughter.
I’m making part 2… but with a twist!
I’m gonna play some songs through the emulator.
REQUEST in the replies :D

Yes we want, please
do sonic 3 and knuckles flying battery zone act 1 on the Sega genesis
Albuquerque
Through the Fire and the Flames

i love how the music plays as a midi
EVERYTHING plays as a midi
@@Not_AnSpyLostHisAccountbro does NOT know about mp3s 😭🙏
@@nmac101 I was talking about how almost everything in the emulator plays as a midi, I wasn't talking about ALL programs
@@Not_AnSpyLostHisAccount oh ok lmao, i was a bit sleepy when i wrote that reply 😅
To be fair the Super MIDIo Bros. gameplay sounds pretty nice
if you want an actually good emulator with midi sound, I recommend G-NES! it's pretty nice sounding tbh
Not at all dude ;-;
@@ChaoticKatOwOdo you have a link to it?
We have sound chip at home!
Sound chip:
for some reason it uses the windows default soundfont, i dont know how and why
@KennethPlaysOfficial prolly didn't set anything and it used default
@@TobyJWalter windows midi lmao
I kinda wish g o o d emulators have a feature to pass by your nes soundchip output to midi like this one, it sounds funny but also cool
Maybe also some use of CC or something for applying proper envelope.
i've never seen an emulator like this wire the sound data directly to the midi drivers ... that's fascinating

j2me my beloved
I’d wager by that Super Mario RPG icon it’d probably work even on Windows 95, perhaps try an actual Yamaha OPL-3 chip
The fact it uses midi is kinda cool but the fact its only mapped to """"square wave"""" and seemingly doesnt even take note length or pitch bends into account makes it eapecially terrible
Still better than competitive shooters
On basis on performance and passion from the developer, i 100% agree
The new definition of “MIDI Mario hell”
there is an emulator that breaks the game. i think is only usable on older computers (i think)
the only thing that makes this bad is that the audio uses a midi converter that can't do note slides, the hud is glitchy and it is slow
this is the Sonic & Knuckles collection equivalent of Mario
someone around 2000: “I can only afford a used AdLib”
Dude this is just regular ass mario except the sound effects are replaced with the default windows MIDI synth
also the hud disappears but like...
The initial level loading is also incorrectly masked
the sound is giving sonic 1 for the gba 😭
the wallpaper is more enticing
I do wonder where I could get that wallpaper?
@jack54guy I don't know anywhere to download it, but this might help

Even though it’s bad, you gotta give credit to whatever 12 year old made an nes emulator

Super Mario Bros: SC-55 Edition
I like midi as nes sound
It's so crazy 😂
Now beat Battletoads on this setup

Excitebike
Silver surfer
Mario bros (the original game)
Kirby adventure (if it can even run)
Punch out
Star tropics (I guess...?)
Some obscure japanese rpg, like dragon quest/final fantasy
Smb2
Doki Doki panic (JP)
Smb3
Dig dug
Don’t forget Gimmick!
Don't get your hopes too up, this emulator doesn't support the required mappers.

I thought my brain was glitching about the sounds being M I D I but the sounds are really M I D I
The MIDIs probably would’ve sounded better if you had a proper sound card with full MIDI support.
Arid canyon zone music, what a chad
Best emulator on j2me
yes
wait it's j2me? that makes sense
imagine porting the src to Symbian devices
@@tauon_its like java but for old 2000s mobile devices before the iphone

im starting to get a stupid idea
super mario bros in the super mario 64 soundfont
dear god that would be awful
It's nice actually.
The song is good in this emulator.
The power up and coins also
btw music here sounds 100x better
The music is kinda fire ngl 🔥
