And I do promise: No more pins in my mouth (if I can remember not to)!

    Thank you Zee Day! Appreciated!
My draping is a mixture of studying books and experimenting on my own. I'll like to brake knowledge down in to smaller pieces, and then build something I would like it to be. I guess it's called reconstructing
Regarding fabric, I seldom use the fabric I want to have in the final garment, since I'm usually not quite satisfied the first time around. But, I use some fabric reminding in heaviness to what I have in mind, or, just a simple cotton fabric to save money.

What an extraordinary young man you are! Did you learn to drape this way or have you figured this out personally? I know I'm getting ahead of myself, I'm just so anxious. Will this translate to a pattern or do you work with the fabric you want for the jacket.
Simply spectacular Sten and very generous and selfless of you for sharing with us. Thank you, thank you.

Thank you for such a precise tutorial, yet laid out in a very simple language.
As the video reeled out i was wondering how many iterations i will need to make to get such beautiful line of a collar :)

Thank you so much for these tutorials and I a deeply grateful for your work. I wish you long life for the work you are doing for us learning to drape.
Do you show how to actually transfer this draped result to making the actual pattern. That is the crucial point for me now after learning from you.
    Thanks

Thank you for your comment tafamandi! Much appreciated!
I've started to incorporate the finished pattern in some of my videos, on request. You can see an example in the latest two, episode 14 and 15. The dress draped in no. 14 is showed in the start of the next one. And it is actually also shown in my first two videos (episode 1 and 2) although just being a basic waist there.
    Best regards

Thank you so much for your tutorials! I'm having my draping exam soon, and it's the notched and shawl collars that I'm having trouble with. Thank you for this. It is extremely informative, and very easy to comprehend.
I have a question, and I hope you can respond. How would you make a paneled mermaid skirt? By paneled, I meant that your seams are along the front and back princess lines, and in the CB (for the closure). Are all panels cut in the biased, or only the side panels? Thank you.

Nice information. I am curious, however, as to why you drape on the left side of the form...when industry standard is to drape on the right. I have noticed that theatrically trained people are usually the ones who do this.

    Hello Martin,
Would you have a chance to answer my question, please ---
Is it common to drape a garment right on a live person? Or it is more common to apply modifications to a mannequin (e.g. with pads to enlarge hips or waist) so that it resembles the customer?
    Thank you.

  • @emperorny
    @emperorny 10 ปีที่แล้ว

The instruction is good but the dart in the front on the armhole you should be able to eliminate it, so after you have draped the jacket in the mannequin you have to fix that, transporting the jacket pattern into paper and in that way you need to manipulate the dart to eliminate giving it as allowance for the shoulder pad. Or you can make it as a princess line. Or you can move the excess to the line of the second dart that you made and give enough space so the line can down until the hip
