    This is exactly what I was looking for. I understand the darts...and shaping....but I didn't understand how they got it from the dummy to a pattern. So seeing him draw on the fabric and then make the adjustments ....and the end where you lay it flat and cut it into pieces...and redraw it with seam allowances.....I understood ! So cool. New sewer...learningn lots just by watching. Going to give it a try tomorrow. Hi from Canada.

    Dear Tree, you have had fantastic opportunity to be a part of the MAESTRO´s workshop!!!! And a very important person of this show... You have verbalize the whole lecture with your energy and brlliant articulation!!!!! You can / may sort of cooperate with mr Sato and edit all his masterclasses!!!! it would be the peak performance... I have been watching his TR cuttiong for some years now and have made some small samples in order to grasp the idea, but could not dare to deal with the original size.... I have got the second big inspiration for sewing in my life and being bolder now I think I can fearlessly do things to enjoy....
    Thank You once again, It is you and a couple of other virtuoses on TH-cam have mede me feel sooooooooooooooooo enthusiatic that I have no words to explain my gratefulness. have a lot of sewing stuff that I was about to give away....

      Beverly Hughes Aw....that's ok Beverly I take it you've seen the 4 other videos of Shingo on our channel? What's important is not only the totally perfect fit but imagine the tge new style lines you can create! But .. usually you have to stick to the golden rules of touching definitely the bust dart point and other dart points (unless you do forming which is a bit more involved). I have 2 more of these Moulage to share, the sleeve and a beautiful coat one. ... Have fun. Tree X

There is a Moulage yellow sleeve going around on Pinterest and Instagram that uses this technique. Tree x

      Hello Sharon, yes....he is a genius. In learning these techniques it is like a challenge or a doing a puzzle. You would then go on to not necessarily use the whole thing in a real project to wear but would taje some elements of what you would have learnt. why does the back part (waist) have to be cut on the bias?

      @StitchlessTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Anna Vi Because it's easier to get a smooth fit.

    This is interesting, but he starts with a ready made form. It is not much use unless your body is exactly the same as the form. For me the hard part is getting patterns that fit my body, not some model's.

      Denise Chevalier I understand but you get someone to do it on you and you on them. I did it on Claudette and she did it on me. We wore a tight black top and used the masking tape to tape to the top. It's so easy that you can get an inexperienced friend to do it but follow exactly what he does and only use decorator's masking tape. Tree x

      Seeing how he moves darts around. You could pin fit a muslin by pulling the back tight and making all your adjustments in the front where you can reach to pin. Then take it off and move your adjustments to the back. Then stuff this sloper or cut it from stiff foam or cardboard to make a dummy.
