Thank you very much Harvey for your insight. You and the saw and the flowing of air are all one. Your heart is in it, your a natural teacher. This student is blessed. Thanks for the bedtime store. God Bless, Sid
The great thing about this build is your exercising your experience, i think this will be amazing. The improvement of design is great and i look at things very differently now. I think this is your best build and can't wait to see her run. Real inspires the imagination. Thanks again.
Love your theories ,my best friend is just like you ,he's been a small engine mechanic for 30 years ,best in the area at what he does ,I learned from watching him for all these years I do trimmer and saw repair also, thanks for the tips buddy ,I like how you grinded the case to match your cylinder for maximum airflow 😁😁😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Hoss! You got it goin on! You just keep going above and beyond with your thinking. Thank you ever so much for sharing! You have my respect with your attitude and patience . I am an semi retired timber cutter/logger in the Pacific Northwest, now in Quinault, wa. Also a Veteran,,drafted 72-74, owned a 67 GTO in HS.,LOTS in common. Take care !!! We need men like you. Mark
Harvey..im known for my mechanical abilities... In fact...I've been told i could get the Titanic going if they could raise it...so i know my way around motors..i said all that to say this..i admire and respect your ability and capability...i have TOTAL confidence in ANYTHING that you attempt to do...cause i KNOW if anybody can make it happen...YOU ARE THE MAN! i also know when someone is handing me a line and can catch on to it rather quickly...but i hang on to everything you say! And just want you to know that im bragging on you cause you deserve my respect for the man you are and your wealth of knowledge! So even if im the first to ever say it..which i highly doubt...i wanted to say that...preciate you and keep them videos rolling
Good info Harv... I’ve learned so much from your videos. I’m going to build a saw and bring it to buckin stock one day. And you are my inspiration for that. Truly thank you sir.
Hello this is Jason Hamrick from West Virginia I'm a logger I'm watching your videos I'm teaching myself how to port and polish just wanted to say thanks for your videos and for your information on how to do this
Three (3) things are going to Happen each day. Sun will Rise, Ironhorse will Rise, and Powersaw will be Dissembled, Modified and will Run more Efficiently than the day it left the Factory. 😬 Amen 🙏 Brother! 👍
So much fun watching you port your Power Saws. Very interesting, inspirational and exciting, WE Want More!!! God Bless and Protect you and your wonderful family!!!
Go big or go home! I am really pleased with a massive set of lower transfers and changing the shape of of the uppers a little. Port shape has a lot to do with flow. Keep up the great work!!!
My favorite build has been a saw I called smoothie. 372 with a cut squish band 52mm cylinder and a 272 flat top piston. Trueing the crank and removal of any air flow obstruction I could find. It was a freak saw and the harder you could spin it the smoother it ran. I made one fatal mistake I used ceramic bearings in it. Oh well live and learn.
Got me hooked first time I saw you playing with saws.its a universal language for sure.I'm sure all the world enjoying your videos.its a small world. Lol.
Harvey youre awesome!! Love how you do stuff out of the ordinary and explain it. The screw driver almost went flying. Dang magnets. That made me laugh. Have a grwat night!! Talk to ya soon!! STAY SAFE!!
Amazing work on the cases I love this project Harvy I dont think the numbers are to much,i have a 135 hobby saw that where the opening time on the transfers is quit much for a chainsaw And she still has torq at 6500 Love youre videos ,learn a lot of them. Greatings from the netherlands
Been watching every video for a while now harv. Thanks for warning me about that little top hat on the 372. Figured out that's what locked up my 372 holtzforma and didn't have to replace anything
Another Aussie found you this week. 🇦🇺 Thanks for the input, gonna try your timing on my chinese Baumr Ag SX82 (copy of Husky 372) but crapier than Farmertec 😀
You remind me of some great builders....I cant recall all their names, Erv Kanemoto is one, people just couldn't believe he was doing the stuff he was doing, but Yamaha and Suzuki certainly owe him a lot, major championships were won because of his works..
I’m so glad you continued with this! I was thinking when you talked about filling in around the bearings. I think you should use a rubber cement or something that doesn’t get so hard.. I believe it would dampen our better than something hard. Also I’d like to know when you put a new bearing in if you could use a little bit of bearing grease and pack it a little? I’m learning as I watch you and I’m one who is glad you are staying! Love 💕 your videos and thank you so much for sharing with us!
Could you use liquid polyurethane, like for making suspension bushings, to pour into those case holes around the crank. It's designed to absorb vibration right? You can buy the urethane liquid in different hardness on ebay
I REALLY ENJOY WHEN YOU SHOW THE MODIFICATIONS, BUT I GET CONFUSED TRYING TO FOLLOW ALONG AND CHART WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. I'M A RETIRED MACHINIST, LIFE LONG MECH, LIFE LONG MOTORCYCLIST ETC. ETC. ETC. AND WOULD LIKE TO GET IT STRAIGHT SO I COULD TRY MY HAND AT THIS ON MY POULON 4400. I USED TO WORK IT HARD BUT NOW IT IS JUST A TOY. KEEP UP THE GOOD STUFF, THIS IS INTERESTING AND I LOVE IT ! HAVE YOU EVER OR COULD YOU MAKE A CHART ON PAPER SHOWING THE NUMBERS ?
Hey Harvey, are you able to cut the Stihl cylinders ( ie. ms 461) like the Huskies to expose the bottom of the transfer ports. I want to try it but its on a thrust side so I'm a bit apprehensive.
Hey ive had excellent luck out of hyway cylinders for a while. But it seems like the most recent batch of their cylinders has crappy plating. Soon as i cut on the cylinder, the plating close to that area peels off and bubbles. Have u had this issue? Or did i just come across a bad batch.
Thats probably all it was then. It looked like they didnt etch the aluminum before electroplating it. So could be there was a whole batch of them that were poorly adhered. Otherwise ive never had an issue with hyway. I actually really like them!
Ok I am using the 372 cylinder on my RC car engines I make .what’s the earliest I can open the exhaust and what’s the blowdown I should not go past .thank you .cars are35pounds
IRONHORSE HUSQVARNA SHOULD PAY YOU TO DESIGN A WICKED 80 CC WORKSAW THATS BUILT TO CUT LIKE A BANSHEE CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT SAW IN SOME WOOD ,I LOVE YOUR PROBLEM SOLVING SOLUTIONS ,BEHIND YOU 100% your the chainsaw WHISPERER be safe my friend ,take care everyone
It is uncanny how you videos line up with my thought processes. As I was putting together my chinese saw, I bolted the cylinder on to one case half and saw exactly what you are talking about. ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. It is hard to see how much material you are removing. Do you think you are removing enough to effect case volume? I suspect that might be something you could compensate for with intake duration, should it become an issue?
Awesome! That sucker is gonna SCREAM! Your skills and knowledge amaze me with these 2 strokes. Well done Mr. Harvey. Another great video! God bless.

I love when people say you can’t do that. Most of the time they get proven wrong. If you don’t try new things you can never learn

Another great video Harvey. I’m here in Massachusetts. Looking forward to see this build done.
I really thank you for explaining all of this so well!

"You cant do that!" .......... Challenge accepted! ;0)
really interesting vid. really helps when you show stock vs modified.
Loved it paul. Waiting for jeep vid and more story time
Nice work brother. Thank you for the insight of the finer parts of porting and building saws that make a difference in performance. Love ya man.🌲❤🌲✊
I remember you showing us this a couple years ago even till this day it's stuck in my head that's an easy little hop up fix..
Thanks Harvey love your content so much thanks again from Northern Ireland Russell

Gas will wash away the grease
Better off not packing it, the oil in the gas takes care of it
I'm definitely looking forward to this build, wait, i look forward to all of your builds!
nice match porting. its going to be a grazy power saw. cant wait to hear it to run.

Pure gold here Harv 🍻
Good information thank you for sharing your time and wisdom. Stay cool harv
Take a look at the Proxxon units to replace that Dremel.
God bless ya ironhorse!!! Been wanting clarification on this subject
Keep it up Harv! Really like your videos.

Hey Harv Nice to see you... 🙏❤️💪
Great video!! Loved it
Good day Harvey
have you ever tried or looked into dimples on the intake and maybe in the transfer ?
hopefully you are having a great day
Hey Harvey, are you able to cut the Stihl cylinders ( ie. ms 461) like the Huskies to expose the bottom of the transfer ports. I want to try it but its on a thrust side so I'm a bit apprehensive.
way do you dont tejp over the SKF in the krank kase your chips ar going ther ?
Great vid Harvey, Ty
Nice job love lerning with you man keep going you are doping good
i bought a 372 clone saw would you port and polish the cylinder for me ?
Harvey you have a creative mind that is cool
Hey ive had excellent luck out of hyway cylinders for a while. But it seems like the most recent batch of their cylinders has crappy plating. Soon as i cut on the cylinder, the plating close to that area peels off and bubbles. Have u had this issue? Or did i just come across a bad batch.
I had a hyway cylinder flake off that I built in February! But it was the only one! Bad batch?
Thats probably all it was then. It looked like they didnt etch the aluminum before electroplating it. So could be there was a whole batch of them that were poorly adhered. Otherwise ive never had an issue with hyway. I actually really like them!
And btw stens uses hyway. I can get some hyway kits thru stens for half the price of hyway
In the cylinder I had a problem with the plating was thin at the bottom but Ryan at wolf creek gave me a new one and I have had no problem science!
Ok I am using the 372 cylinder on my RC car engines I make .what’s the earliest I can open the exhaust and what’s the blowdown I should not go past .thank you .cars are35pounds
Email me! Ill help you with this build! Ironhorsechainsaw@gmail.com. Leave me yer number and best time to call! I’m east coast
Awesome video! 🤙
What's up with that big hole in the bottom of that one red case half?
This build is epic
Do you do anything with new saws like 562xp
1:33 OIL MIX IS OK ? HUSQVARNA LS + ?
Mix oil works great!
@@theironhorse6600 apparently there are cases of jamming rings at 33: 1?
Did ya get the blue saw figured out?
thanks 4 video. be kind.
Only one way find out do it. Only way you'll learn. Just like alot old trades if not handed down you don't know but retry it.
you can not do that to a saw buck off its all about flow /// more flow more power /// looks good
Do you have any USA followers? :-)
Harvey my question is why not ??
Perfect!
