Man you are so right on the Dremel. They are really the way to go for starting out. In fact I've done literally hundreds of cylinders with them. You can do excellent work with them, no question. Glad you like the new tooling Harvey.

Hang up your dremel up in the air you will like it . I have two of them and I like it up in the air. Try it Harvey. Glad to see you back. Kenny from Texas. Thanks

We ain't goin' anywhere Harvey. I've met some damn fine people because of this channel. I've also learned a whole lot... And not just about saws. A price tag can't be put on any of it, brother.

That very last thing you pointed out about the primary n secondary being not level i noticed one day on a dolmar 7900 cylinder. Ever since then i been doing that on the 372s. And all other bottom fed cylinders like that. Thats horsepower stuff! 👍

Rough finish on intake itemisizes the air. Help mix it verse smooth finish. Like stated that what I was taught. I thaught different before show and seen results. Biggest thing is when first starting watch how much you take out. Less is better. You can always go back in and take more out. You can take to much out but you can't put it back. Looks like you got that tooling handling down really good.

Ironhorse, you're a good man and a humble man. I'm about 45 minutes west of Albany and I'd love to come visit you. The problem is I can't ride in a vehicle more than about an hour or the pain is unbearable. I smashed myself up working onsite on a semi trailer. That was my Valentine's day present un 2019. Then a new hip the day after. Fun times. I still want to come see you though. I would have a plan it to give myself extra time so I could stop, rest and stretch every hour or so. I quite sure you're a few hours away. Ok buddy, take care.

Your absolutely right about the finish on the intake side, just like a golf ball is dimpled, so it will fly straight. Take care Harvey, and family.

After the 55 lost the battle with a skidsteer (totally operator error - mine) I snagged a 550XP, ended up with another from the dealer after the 1st one wouldn't run & it's run very well but there's something about autotune i find a little weird. Sure it'll cook but it's not the same as the 55. that girl just ran. Cruising online Auctions I came across a 61 & having never heard of them began to do a little looking around. On about the 5th mouse click your TH-cam channel popped up - WOW! Haven't seen everything you've posted but am working on it - totally impressed with what you do, how you do it & the matter of fact way you're sharing the "how to's" of what you do. Thank you! Don't have the 61 yet, auction was quite a ways away, sure am looking forward to running it & watching the rest of your vid's. Take care & please keep up the awesome work!!

Fast forward a year or so & quite a few saws later (345 / 50, 51, 55 / many 61 -266-272 sized saws, a 630Super II - yup - it has the different jug & carb block which i managed to recondition), this is making more sense all the time. The 61 i 1st spoke of ended up being the last built, wanted to learn more on the cheap replacements vs wrecking a Hyway & it does run very well, as do the cheap ones. only cut 1 jug intake too far, was able to save it & so far that 266 (72cc kit) is running very well. I am struggling to wrap my head around intake duration - not how to measure it but the actual differences varying degrees can make. OEMs seem to run lower numbers 130's in the 345 to 140's in the 630) but the higher numbers I've run seem to be easier starting & as you say "pick up in the cut". It's all fun! Keep up the good work!

Exhaust smooth or rough get build up over time. Your getting better flow and cast inprofections out. That what your shooting for. What I was taught porting heads. You get into a set of heads check your water ports out on cast heads. You clean them up you'll get a big difference on coolant flow. Thanks for the knowledge buddy.

Would definitely be interested in seeing the difference between squared off transfers at the bace of the cylinder vs rounded off to be smaller for the vilocity effect🤔 also wondering if you would test the dimples on the floor of the intake. I noticed that the sizes of the dimples the placement and depth of each dimple does effect atomization and flow in different ways the roof ramps I will say helps the effect 😎 also would be a good test for alcohol or nitro possibly. Just a though good video interesting stuff as always buddy!
