Another stat that never gets talked about his his rebound.. the offensive rebound. he only passed MJ in total offensive rebound just this season.. in 20 years. Most of his rebounds are easy - padded rebs.. not hard earned.
Not only the steals but Jordan averaged well over 1 block per game for a few seasons in the 80s. AND his on ball defense was also absolutely NASTY

No defense played in Lebronze's career can ever be called "elite." That's a slap in the nuts to real, actual defenders. The only defense I've ever seen him play is a chasedown once a year. Of course, then he had to rest for 3 games after that, but still...
He was a good defender in Miami. He’s been average at best at every other stop. And he’s downright mediocre to poor during his time in LA.
@skap_attack Which is crazy, because that "new juice" has given him energy to do almost everything else.
Yup and we saw Jordan literally go back on defense whether they scored or lost the ball off a steal and stymied opposing team's fast break attacks on his own.
I would like to say that in 2013 Dpoy,
Defensive Plus Minus:Marc Gasol: 3.1 (1st place)LeBron James: 2.4 (5th place)

Marc Gasol: 5.4 (2nd place)LeBron James: 4.7 (10th place)

LeBron James: 101 (49th place)

It's not even that. I hate the fact that people act like it was only Lebron's award and that he got robbed. A simple look at the voting shows you that there was no consensus pick and there were many players who could've won it.
You’re right. The voting was VERY spread out that year. When the winner only has 200 some of a nearly 1200 total points, there really was no consensus.

My man not only do I really enjoy your commentary and movie snippets, but you actually do your research and present us with straight FACTS !!
I'll always remember that clip of Kyle Kuzma shoving Lebron to cover the open shooter on defense.
Yeah at age 34, the season Kobe tore his achilles, he was defending all the elite point guards. There's that segment of MJ talking about it and how ludacris is was, how Kobe is willing to go to the extreme, and he's just as cursed as Mj when it comes to that. It's great to play 21 years at a high level as Lebron has, but he's not playing defense like Kobe or MJ did. That's a major factor that separates them.
I remember, he was guarding Kyrie and blocked his shot and he also locked up Russell Westbrook.
"Rabid, Jock sniffing attack dogs" 😂☠️
When one of the biggest parts of your argument invokes the phrase "when he wants to he/when he gives the effort" you've lost the argument. Basketball is a two way sport and you're not supposed to play elite defense "when you feel like it." You're not going to always succeed even when you do but the point is you were trying.
GREAT POINT here. As that is a HUGE phrase thrown around when discussing Lebron’s defensive prowess. “When he wants to” 😂. Because as we know, he has to “save himself” for the other end. Pretty sure both Jordan and Kobe had higher career usage rates than Lebron. They didn’t save themselves tho.
And the thing is if this was a new phenomenon i'd be more sympathetic to the argument that he has to pick his spots to conserve energy. He is almost 40 and has played 21 seasons. But it's only recently has his age become a more reasonable excuse. His lack of effort goes all the way back to his second stint in Cleveland. He hasn't made ANY defensive teams since he was with the Heat. Not one. We have compilations of him standing on the other side of the court watching his teammates play 4 v 5 at the age of 30. If you go 100% some times, 50% most times and 0% at many spots the net result is a bad defender. You play poor/lazy defense more than great.
example: Lebron hopped with Wade and Bosh but did not want to win more than 2 rings when he could have got 8.
Lebron could win in 2011 but did not want to.

@@fatman3177 What's your point? The NBA needs all the ratings help it can get.
@@skap_attack Jokic and Luka are my favorites since everyone that jock rides LeBron calls them plumbers.
@@LegalLatinoHeat luka was being compared to lebron, i have never heard someone call luka or jokic a plumber
Brian Windhorst needs to stop eating McDonalds
So LeBron “defends 1 through 5”, eh? Then he should have shut down Dirk Nowitski in 2011 to get that ring for his team. But instead LeBron couldn’t even shut down Jason Fucking Terry! Or how about shut down Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, or KD, or Steph Curry? How come this alleged “elite defender” didn’t stop these guys from beating his team in finals? We all know the answer: a chase down block every now and then does NOT make you an “elite defender”.
Love your content bro. I click on every new video.
Like Jokic said on press when they asked him about Lebron guarding him, "its a missmatch for me"😂 Thank you for bringing the truth brotha!!!✌🏻
Lebron’s most famous blocks are chase downs or from the weak side. He can’t face guard anybody, the media saying he can “guard all 5 positions” gotta be the biggest lie, he cannot guard legit 7 foot 280+ lbs centers (Embiid, Jokic and them), he also cannot stay in front of quick PGs (Rose, Ja, Russ). I’ve only seen 3 people on my life guard all 5 positions (Rodman, Draymond and OG Anunoby, OG more 1-4 but the occasional C he can hold his own against)
Lakers will lose in the play in. If not they lose to the nuggets or thunder.
They’re going to have to first beat the Warriors THEN Phoenix OR Dallas just to get to the nuggets or thunder. TOUGHT path…
i mean yeah, but thats more darvin hams fault than anything, if you look at the lakers roster they should not be in the play in
The self proclaimed billy goat 😂 😂 😂
The year Mike won DPOY he averaged 3.2 steals per game and 1.6 blocks per game. Lebron has never come close to those numbers in any of his 21 seasons. It took Lebron 17 seasons to pass Mike in total career blocks and in 21 seasons he still hasn't passed him in career steals.
He hasn't played in an era that fast with perimeter players that limited offensively, but we're talking basketball, and we know that isn't your strong suit.
The grizzlies had 2 other all defensive players outside of gasol that year. Tony Allen and mike Conley made first and second team all defense
Skap can you cover this new lebron scandal? I asked whitlock to and he said its not newsworthy.... even tho we all know anything lebron does is newsworthy let alone something related to his recent steriod scandal.
Whitlock did cover it
@@fullmetal1766 where. I emailed him and he said its not newsworthy.
@@fullmetal1766 no this is new. Just happened a day ago. Lebron avoids steriods to talk about his legacy but plagiarizes kobe qoute on it.
Michael never has, and never will, say stuff like "Charles has my MVP at his house" or "Karl has my MVP at his house."
I hope you make a video on the Lebron and JJ Reddick podcast. Can't wait 😂
Yeaaaa, I’m going to have to give that a listen here sometime soon and respond to it in some way…
@@skap_attack Great!!
@@donniet348 yeah ur whats wrong with nba fans nowadays, that podcast is great for the nba community, literally gets people to talk more about basketball and plays, then whos the goat, whos the mvp, why is this player toxic, i hate lebron, luka is ass, and just stupid takes that every media does now
LeBron never guarded anyone of note.
Watch him against Kawhi in 2014 finals. He was his primary defender.
KD averaged an efficent 32ppg in the 2012 finals and 35ppg on 50/40/90 in 2017.
Why wasnt LeBron guarding KD?
why are you acting like its not kd, arguably the best score of all time, and lebron did guard him its just they wanted to rest him so he can help out the offence, because kd was probbaly going to get a bucket regardless if it was lebron or like richard jefferson
@@fatman3177 why are you acting like LeBron takes the challenge? He's a great defender. Name who he's stopped in the postseason.
Kawhi, KD, The Truth, Tatum, Jalen, Drose, Oladipo, Jokic, Steph, Jamal Murray. Who dafaq has he guarded to a bad game?
@@MarkLaw13 a few games ago lebron held kawhi to like 0-8 in the 4th where he made the comeback and outscored the entire clippers roster in the 4th
@@MarkLaw13 there are multiple games where pierce has dropped less than 10 points against lebron
thats in the playoffs btw
😂 that mf was never a defensive player.. he had moments... Maybe in his younger years but even then he was t consistent... And it's funny how 2k use to buff his defense abilities... LeBron and Luka play pretty identical... It's only Luka is a better shooter, but both players are lazy as hell... Defense is so lost now in most sports... Even baseball is starting to look like low football scores now
th-cam.com/video/d8x8BGcFYJE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7WKuQLuSVb_5ZuBv stop lying y’all get on here trying to change this man career daily, we lived thru it we saw him defend night in night out
Tbh, even 37yr old Duncan had a way better DPOY case than Bettis.
Spurs were 3rd in Drtg; Duncan was 1st in Drtg, 2nd in DBPM, 4th in DWS.
Hell, KD led a better defense and had better advanced stats on defense than Bettis that year. And led his team to the #1 pt differential in the NBA, playing in the vastly superior West. So that right there should’ve also nuked the idea that Bettis should’ve won unanimous MVP
Love your videos!!! Couldn't agree more :D
IT'S GARBAGE!
It’s a complete CRAP!
A complete crap 😂
Jordan and Kobe were much better defenders than this fraud
I totally agree. Just from an effort based standpoint alone…
Lebron, elite and defense should never be said in a sentence.
Some times DPOY is determined by a big margin between 1st and 2nd place, like prime Dwight Howard in 09-11. Some times it is closer like Chandler(311) and Ibaka(294) in 2012 or Gasol(212) and James(149) in 2013. But in the end a win is a win. Michael Jordan won his last championship by 1 point. Some might say "Jazz was robbed of victory". But majority celebrate on MJ's clutch greatness.
One of my two MAIN reasons I don’t have him as the “goat”
He’s 4-6 in the championships rounds and he’s not an all time great/elite defender.
Finals record is by far the worst argument in sports
@@gggyy7104 of course you’ll say that, it’s a losing record.
@@judahmourneth3211 So 4-0 is better than 4-6? 🤣🤣
i mean 3 of his finals was solo acts, with 2007, 2015 (kyrie and love were injured) and 2018. 2011 is fair lebron chocked, in 2014, wade and bosh were on the decline and the spurs just played perfect basketball and in 2017 lebron was versing the 2 of the top 3 players of the 2010s plus klay and draymond with kyrie really his only good teammate and love ig
@@fatman3177 2007 his team shot a better FG% than him he went from 25PPG to 22 on 35% shooting and 5TOV a game. Games 3 lost by 3 he missed the game tying 3 to send it to OT, game 4 lost by 1 and he missed the game winner.
2015 he still shot under 40% game 4 up 2-1 he went 7-22 and got locked up by iggy. 2014 he also played bad and got outplayed the last 3 games by kawhi.
2017 was fair and even, he just let KD bust his ass. Especially in the 4th
