  • Nikola Jokic and his legacy are reeling in the wake of a blown 20 point lead AT HOME in game 7. But how can we measure the appropriate level of expectations placed on all-time NBA greats? One way is to evaluate their level of help versus each other. In this video, dive into a complete analysis of every MVP winner's supporting cast for the last 40 years.

    Curry, Giannis and Jokic have had such similar stories, nobody and I mean NOBODY expected them to become anything or win anything in the league when they were drafted and in the first few seasons! Curry didn’t have size, strength or athleticism so everyone looked him off, Jokic didn’t have athleticism, was told he was out of shape, was told he was too slow, couldn’t shoot, when he entered the league so everyone also looked him off, Giannis was super skinny, couldn’t shoot, was super raw and was unknown and he too looked off by everyone!

    • @KyleCox404
      @KyleCox404 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Oh, please. Cope harder with that fairytale narrative. "Similar stories"? That's a laugh. Curry, Giannis, and Jokic had fundamentally different paths. Curry had doubters, sure, but he came from a basketball family and had a standout college career. People noticed him, trust me. As for Jokic, the narrative that everyone ignored him is revisionist history at its finest. The guy had skills that were evident to anyone with a shred of basketball insight, but keep pretending he was some undiscovered gem. And Giannis? Yes, he was raw, but anyone with eyes could see his potential. He was a freak of nature, and people knew it. So next time, try not to lump these unique talents into your convenient little box of "nobody believed in them" clichés. It's tired, and frankly, it's wrong.

Draft position doesn't always reflect talent, especially in a league where scouts and GMs often overlook international players. Jokic's draft spot is more a testament to the NBA's flawed scouting system than to his actual ability.
      Just because he wasn't a lottery pick doesn't mean people didn't see his talent. Anyone with a shred of basketball insight who actually watched him play could see his potential. The draft is full of missteps and overlooked talents, and Jokic is just another example of the NBA's myopic view. So, before you start rewriting history, remember that Jokic's talent was there all along. It just took the league some time to catch up.

    I find it interesting that some players, like MJ, Jokic and Kobe are held to perfection by every one of these losers in the media. The moment any tiny detail goes wrong they go crazy. Kobe won game 7 of the 2010 finals and they still mention ”6/24” when he lead both teams in scoring for that game. Meanwhile they give LeBron every excuse in the book when he loses or builds a new superteam. It’s hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

      Those numbers you’re drooling over. Classic case of stat padding. Leading in points, rebounds, assists, and tying for steals in a losing effort is the epitome of empty stats. When it mattered most, Jokic couldn't get his team over the hump. All those gaudy numbers mean nothing if you can't translate them into wins.
      And let's not forget, padding stats against a tough defense might look impressive on paper, but real greatness is measured by results, not individual accolades. LeBron has proven time and again he can lead his team to victory, not just fill a stat sheet. He steps up in crucial moments, wins championships, and makes his teammates better.

Injuries kept them from competing in 2009 and 2011 so 2012 really was their last hurrah and that's when the talent and hunger of Miami's Big 3 surpassed theirs.

    • @avikellerman4539
      @avikellerman4539 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes it is a cheap ring imo. Here's why;
      In 2008 those guys were still in their primes. Sure, it was the "downside" of their primes...But they were all still close to their primes at that particular point in time. The big 3 were all in their EARLY 30s. Pierce was 30. Garnett 31 and Ray Allen 32. So it doesn't matter if they got old and injury prone AFTER 2008 because we aren't talking about "after". We're talking about 2008 in particular. And that season they were all early 30s, and still at or near the peak of their powers. They absolutely destroyed the NBA that season from start to finish.
      For me this team is a big reason why the league started going downhill with the "big 3" "super team" era that quickly followed. The 2008 Celtics were the first to do it and set the tone. Before that teams would have 1 big star surrounded by role guys, or 2 big stars maximum....Celtics were the first to put THREE big stars together. At least in the more modern era. People can argue that the 2004 Lakers did it first, but it wasn't really the same thing since Malone and Payton were clearly shadows of what they were in their primes. Not to mention the whole Kobe/Colorado fiasco happened. And the Houston Rockets in 1998/1999 with Olajuwon, Barkley and Pippen were on their last legs...Especially Olajuwon and Barkley. So the 2008 Celtics to me were the first. Not to mention Olajuwon already won titles with Houston, as did Kobe and Shaq with the Lakers. Where as NONE of the Celtic's big 3 had won a title before and they joined forces because the window was closing and they knew they weren't going to win unless they stacked the odds in their favor. Their success in 2008 ultimately set the tone for what the Heat did shortly after with Lebron, Wade and Bosh. Then KD going to GS, Lebron going back to Cleveland to team up with Irving and Love and even what the Nets tried to do (but failed).
      So in conclusion it doesn't matter if the Celtics didn't get a dynasty of championships out of that move. They still win a ring because of it, and won it right away straight off the bat. When prior to this mega team up they weren't even close to being a championship team. So yes, it WAS most definitely a cheap ring. Anytime a group of players plot together and stack their team to the max to boost the odds in their favor...That's a cheap ring. Simple as that.

    LeBron Raymone James did much better playing in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. LeBron James is the BIGGEST NBA Western Conference Failure in NBA History - LeBron James: 2019 -> FAILED to make the NBA Playoffs, 2020 -> Asterisk BUBBLE Consolation Prize, 2021 -> LOST in the 1st Round, 2022 FAILED to make even the NBA PLAY-IN Tournament👀😅, 2023 SWEPT 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals, and 2024 Gentlemen’s SWEEP 4-1 in the 1st Round. Now we see why LeBron James went to 8 straight NBA Finals. Michael Jordan locked the GOAT Position at #1. Now ranking Kareem, Magic, Kobe, and Bird ahead of LeBron James sounds very logical. And yes, the basketball world is starting to rank Tim Duncan over LeBron James as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

      The playoffs in the Bubble > the WEAK ASF competition Kobe went through in 09 and 2010 playoffs. In 2021 LeBron did what Kobe did in 05 which was miss the playoffs.
      In 2022 did you forget the amount of games AD missed due to injury?
      Last year he got swept by the team that won it all just like Kobe did against the Mavs n this year he lost in 5. Btw the majority of what u mentioned LeBron was no longer in his prime 😂

Everything you pointed out in your last video was true and that's Denver's role players or the "others" didn't step up. Every star player who has won a championship, had another superstar and role players who stepped up. Denver does not have that, they are basically like the 1994 Houston Rockets. Thanks for the video
