The accident… I was packing up the Drone and heard the crash followed by a dust cloud. I figured with so many people around, and some a lot closer than me to the accident site, somebody else can deal with the clean up. As I approached the site, I didn’t see ANY activity so I figured the driver had got himself out or he had done a runner. Then I saw the brake lights and realised somebody was still in the car. What happened next is in the Vid but I have to be honest; nobody else around was lifting a finger to help somebody that could have been in some distress or injured. I don’t understand. I took some photos and contacted the Hire Company so they knew what they were dealing with. I hope he took the Insurance option. 😀 The local cops rang me later and it works out the Driver discharged himself from hospital the day before and should not have been behind the wheel. 😞 I hope he made a complete recovery.
From seeing the driver my initial thought was a medical issue. Surprised too that bystanders did just that. Shameful. Aside from that, your adventures never fail to impress, but not only that the amount of adventurers with and without families travelling incredible distances to some of the most spectacular locations in this country of ours. I'm feeling embarrassed not to get off my bum and get out there, even if its not that kind of distance. Again, thank you for bringing us along on your journeys through your videos.

I didn’t know that was part of my job…like I said, thankfully the bloke wasn’t bleeding out. He was in good hands and being cared for by others. I knew he was safe. Thanks for watching. 😀
Let’s get one thing straight…I HATE AUDIO! It has an adapter (duh) and it’s a Robe mic but I couldn’t tell you the detail at the moment (I’m currently cycle touring South Korea). Do your research, trial and error, plug away, test your systems and eventually you’ll come up with something that works. I know it’s not the answer you’re looking for but that’s the best I can do at the moment. 😞
Well done as 1st on scene. But i do have question as i was taught by Motocross rider before tar with 1st bike. Why dont you stand on the pegs when doing difficult sections like water crossings or rocky terrain. Fellow temporary Australian for over 40 years.
Yeah, nah. If only it was that simple. The bike and gear probably weighs 320kg. I'm about 84 kgs. The bike is a handful in snotty stuff and the 19 inch front wheel, along with the Paralever front suspension dont lend itself to behaving too well over the big rocks on that creek crossing. Hitting those rocks tend to throw the front end all over the place throwing you off line making control very difficult. Standing up would only make things more difficult and reduce reaction time if i had to 'dab' with a foot down. I understand the theory (this aint my first Rodeo) but in this case its easier to 'paddle' thru this obstacle. Thanks for watching.
He moved from the drivers side to the passenger side…I figured he was trying to extricate himself before I arrived on scene. He did put his foot on the brake…I’m pretty sure he could move his legs. Thanks for watching. 😀
I have photo evidence of crossing the Ivanhoe Crossing in my GU Patrol with a 4 inch lift and 100 series LandCruiser with only a 50ml lift who was with us and we clearly told them to go around 4 adult school teachers thought they knew everything and only just made it an upon the exit they blew the motor up because of the water. And yes it was the same height as what you have there now.
Technically you should not have removed him from the car , until St. John’s were in attendance. Also remember they are vollies at St. John’s so calling them morons is uncalled for and I take offence to it as a vollie myself otherwise good video . Keep up the great job.
Technically, he was trying to extricate himself from the car and I don’t think he was in a position to reason with. I’m not a paramedic and I don’t want to get in an animated discussion of what should be, could be, I would have done that, you should have done this but I will concede the ‘moron’ comment was uncalled for. I guess sometimes I say what I’m thinking and chose to leave it in the final cut. It is after all, my Channel. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. See pinned comment. Nobody else was lifting a finger. He might still be in the car if I chose to do nothing like everybody else, 😀
Hi Steve, watching from Philippines, might be a huge coincidence but my brother in Perth repaired a MC for a man called Chris who just traveled top end, Diesel fuel in tank, had my Brother stumped for a while. Maybe same Chris, ex army.
@@gregpit1964 Because I could see the Cop car inbound and wanted to let them know. Is it my job to point the Ambos in the right direction? Ivanhoe Crossing is a prominent landmark up that neck of the woods. Pretty hard to screw it up I would have thought. Thanks for watching. 😀
One question I’ve got for you is, how often do you get close calls with Kangaroos while riding, what do you do to avoid the chances of hitting one. I ask because I’d like to ride around australia in the future.
@@diegol4452 Avoid being on the road the last hour and a half before sunset and after sunrise. If there is a lot of roadkill on the sides of the road then that would make me nervous. Be.mindful of vegetation on the sides of the road because they could be resting in the shade and get spooked when they hear you. Emus are very unpredictable. Goats are predictable and have road sense. Camels take the path of least resistance and will just run on the road or track. Never swerve to avoid an animal. Brake hard but If need be take the knock. Many people have died trying to swerve around wildlife. Never ride at night. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, bikes that have been developed for the European market and not conditions here in Oz. Maybe we should stick to easier road and track conditions but that wouldn’t be any fun; would it? 😀

Way to step up Steve! Didn't look like anyone else even noticed that car. Was that a medical emergency, that caused him to go off the road?
Hi Bill, pls read pinned comment. It might fill in the blanks.
😀
Riding with no gloves, I thought you were more safety conscious than that. 🤔🤔🤔🚑
I was in shorts and a T shirt and it was ‘Liberating’.
Mind you, I was conscious of the lack of protection and rode very conservatively.
😀
These are essential viewing for Adventure Motorcyclists. What mic are you running with the Action 4 ?
Let’s get one thing straight…I HATE AUDIO!
It has an adapter (duh) and it’s a Robe mic but I couldn’t tell you the detail at the moment (I’m currently cycle touring South Korea). Do your research, trial and error, plug away, test your systems and eventually you’ll come up with something that works. I know it’s not the answer you’re looking for but that’s the best I can do at the moment.
😞
@@mongreldogproductions Thanks for your prompt and honest reply. Have fun in South Korea 👍
Smashing
Probably would have been best to ask the guy if he could feel his legs before moving him.
He moved from the drivers side to the passenger side…I figured he was trying to extricate himself before I arrived on scene. He did put his foot on the brake…I’m pretty sure he could move his legs. Thanks for watching.
😀
Makes a change seeing the EMS heading for someone else and not Broken Leg Tom.
True, harsh but true.
😀
Old bloke was doing definitely more then 10 Km/h. He was lucky as....

That sounds like a good reason to go around!
He might still be in the car if I chose to do nothing like everybody else,
😀
@@mongreldogproductions appreciate you giving him a hand . It’s the unknowns ( spinal etc ) , but thankfully a good outcome. Keep up the great work
@@mdbrulz1977 I acknowledge.

Hey Steve, any Crocs in that water by the Gorge Mate?
Which Gorge…
Well I suppose if you could always become a luggage handler
Any more details of what happened with Old Mate who crashed & is he OK?

😀
Lucky he stopped, the speed must have been fairly high to get that far through the undergrowth.

Hi Steve, watching from Philippines, might be a huge coincidence but my brother in Perth repaired a MC for a man called Chris who just traveled top end, Diesel fuel in tank, had my Brother stumped for a while.
Maybe same Chris, ex army.
Nah, not related this time. But you never know.
Thanks for watching.
😀
Dr 600 doesn't run well with a mix of diesel and petrol!
Owner is an ex army shrink.
@@willemvantsant5105 That would explain it😂😂😂
why didn't you chase the ambulance down on your bike ?
@@gregpit1964 Because I could see the Cop car inbound and wanted to let them know. Is it my job to point the Ambos in the right direction? Ivanhoe Crossing is a prominent landmark up that neck of the woods. Pretty hard to screw it up I would have thought.
Thanks for watching.

If your riding off the black top i don't understand having the mud guard so close to the tyre.
Yeah, bikes that have been developed for the European market and not conditions here in Oz. Maybe we should stick to easier road and track conditions but that wouldn’t be any fun; would it?
😀
Did you get to see the Itchy Boots bike build video ?
Yes. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Good man
It's a shame Paul never rejoined the team at Kununurra.
Yeah, he was looking at different strategies to join the group. It won’t be his last ride.
He was in the passenger seat? Where did the driver go?
He/I couldn’t open the drivers door…blocked by a small tree or bushes.
Thanks for watching.
Glad ole mate was ok must have had a health issue.
If bloody bogan can make it across the river ,you guys shouldn't have any issues.
