Tip: for others (like myself) who’s hair doesn’t like coconut oil (my hair is really protein sensitive and coconut oil makes it feel crunchy and stiff), a mix of olive oil, JBC and almond oil works well too :)
I have been natural for 6 going on 7 years, I’m so ready for a relaxer!! I feel confident now after watching this video and subscribing to this channel, thank you❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm still natural however I want to relax my hair. I workout 3-4 and I travel all over the world.... I was wearing long beautiful braids but after so many of rocking them I wanted a change. I prefer long hair as it just makes me look better but my old stylist use to cut my hair too much that my hair never grew out like it use to.... this video gives me hope!!!!
That balm is life! I have used it for years when relaxed and I love it. I am relaxed again and I am going to order all three products for my first wash, I will use it with my steamer as the new growth comes in.
Great video!! I just relaxed my hair after being natural for four years. I have been dealing with shedding and breakage, after having the twins. I’m glad I found your channel I will be watching.
People have been raving about Joico for a long time, especially their deep conditioner in the gold tube or bottle. I think that has consistently been voted number one as a protein/moisture deep conditioner to help strengthen and stop shedding.
Style Domination I love your hair. I wish my hair was like yours. At the moment my hair is so short and it keeps on breaking because my hair could not cope with the ralaxer perms but what I am going to do is to go natural and grow it that way.
Purchased Joico Shampoo, Conditioner and the Recovery Balm...love the products before I roller set my hair. I had almost no tangles 6 weeks post relaxer. Thank you so much.
I love my youtubers and i love your personality its different and classy - you have a different take on hair. I love all the info I get on youtube. I just subbed and followed on IG. Perfect timing for me since i am searching for a new hair regimen and hair care products.
I bought the shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner in december ' 17, and i am about to get the leave in ...my hair loves this stuff too....a bit pricy but a little goes a long way...i was so glad to get rid of the pile of other products i collected trying to find something that would moisturize,, slip, and detangle ....THANKS for the recommendation
I totally agree with you! After a while, I just stopped buying everything else. Every now and then, I stumble upon a gem like Schwarzkopf Repair Rescue but yeah. My hair just loves this! Thanks for watching, doll!
I bought a relaxer today at Target and nearly had to whisper asking the sales associate where the relaxers were. There was another black woman in the hair care isle and I just felt so bad with the whole natural hair acceptance. (Kudos because that is amazing) however I had natural hair for 7 years and the maintenance and lack of length retention was keeping me at armpit length. I just wanted to say thanks for the tips. I am newly relaxed and will do it right this time. Update: After 5 weeks I had to big chop. From armpit length back to twa. I put a normal strength relaxer in for about 10 mins total and it still completely straightened my 4c super dense hair. Fell out left and right. It's cool though, it'll grow back.
Your hair looks very beautiful and I love that you wear a straight because this is how I love wearing mine and a lot of people tell me that my hairstyles are boring but I don't think so and I don't really care LOL but I wanted to ask a question on these products are they protein free and chemical-free products because I was looking for natural products to use on my relaxed hair thank you so much for the review God bless you🙏💕
Hi Sapphire! I'm with you, girl! I love the stick straight look! LOL! Unfortunately, these are not chemical-free. They contain silicone. I do like them though...
You are so so so so so so sooooooo beautiful!! Love your hair and style very chic you should totally do a video on your day to day outfits. Stay blessed 💕
You're very very OVERDUE!!😂😂😂 I thought you had abandoned us, relaxed girls! But your hair is really really beautiful, and healthy. I enjoyed it. Also, you have an amazing skin over all. Admire you more without the makeup🙈
Style Domination Thanks I had purchased some shampoo and conditioner that had avocado oil in it and I had a bad allergic reaction to it so I'm afraid to try certain things. I went to the site for the Joico shampoo and conditioner so can you let me know if it has a strong perfume or fruity smell cause I would hate to spend a lot of money and then I can't use it
Your hair looks gorgeous. I workout 4 days a week and relaxers made my scalp dry and itchy, scalp burns but I might want to relax again that’s why I’m watching your video.
your hair is absolutely gorgeous!!! my hair always had/have problems growing in the back-mainly upper back & middle back. i stop using coconut oil because i have low perosity hair & alopecia & coconut oil is not good for my hair. i do use jamaican black castor oil. i'm going to start using pumpkin seed & flax seed oil. i don't currently do hair at home-but i'm going to start because of all the heat hair dressers use. i have ingredients i am going to add to my hair weekly after i am 6 weeks post relaxer to soften my new growth. i was gettting relaxer every 6 weeks-now i get them every 12 weeks. i had it all cut off back in september 2017 when permanent color broke it off. i ask the girl to use a rinse & she used a permanent color. love your videos.
I will try it... I BuY allot of shampoo and conditioners cuz my hair is very picky. My fav right now is cream of nature/ and Sebastian drench conditioner. My hair length is hip length so I need something to help with less manipulation.... I love your channel. Can you tell us what helps with shedding. Thanks blessings ♡
Hip length! That's AMAZING! What really helped me with the shedding was a good trim. A few years ago, I lopped off about three inches, and committed to weekly deep conditioning, putting a little oil on my ends nightly, and wrapping my hair. I experience little to no shedding now. I also swear by little manipulation and wearing my hair up frequently...
Hi! I am new to hair loss in the top of my hair. After watching the videos I am convinced the loss is from over processing (and devastated). I wore braids last summer and probably didn’t take them out correctly. I notice breakage in the top of my head once I started getting relaxers again (due to Covid-19). I am guilty of not oiling my scalp and regular hydration. My salon does carry the Joico products and I will request my stylist to start using it. Thank you for all of your recommendations. I’m now in my hair repair journey and will be patient with the process.
Hi Ms.Chelle! I usually only air dry then flat iron. If I'm in a rush, I'll use the blow dryer on medium-cool heat. I don't use a brush or anything. I just blast it with air. LOL! Thanks for watching!
What is your natural hair texture? Is it a 4? Or is the pattern looser? Ps. I ask because I wonder how these products would work for my 4c relaxed hair particularly when the roots are coming up.
I have 4c waist length hair and I believe that those products do work. For me, more than moisture, my hair needs protein so I use ORS Hair Mayo with every wash. Without that stuff, I would not be able to have my hair down. Please, please do not comb daily or too thoroughly or your hair will break. If you have enough length, then do the hair style she mentioned before - look up how to do those headband curls. I swear to you I use that style to gain length. No hair ties or pins. No braiding. Twist n Tuck!
Veritas Pryde I used to do the headband curls when my hair was shoulder length. It worked great and I didn’t have to comb it for like 4 days lol then I chopped it off 😒
I have been going back and forth with relax to non relax...I really love the manageability of relaxed hair since my hair is very coiled but it is also fine hair. I found an in-between called "texlax" but the hair salons give me a hard time every-time I try to get it done. Have you ever had to overcome social issues like this?
Hi there new subbie here !!! Your hair is beautiful! I’m on my self relax do my own hair journey now lol because I’m recovering from a year of setbacks from 3 different stylist smhh but no shade though there are plenty of awesome hair stylists out there but I’m leaving my hair in my own hands now and I’m showing progress. I’m so glad I found your channel I heard so much about that product line but never seen anyone’s results, I will try it now for sure after watching this 😊 and yes your natural beauty is on point girl I didn’t even notice you weren’t wearing much makeup until you mentioned it lol
Aww! Thanks, Vanetta! Actually, my family is from Barbados and many still live there. I visit frequently! My little home island! Save me a rum punch. I comin'! LOL!
Great Video, Dominique! Quick question. Was the Treatment Balm still able to soften and detangle your new growth in the weeks leading up to relaxer day or was it only effective on freshly relaxed hair?
This may sound weird but I love the way you speak. I have trouble pronouncing my words thoroughly. It’s not even an accent, I’m just terrible with words. Perhaps it’s because I grew up bilingual? But funny enough, I’m not great at any of the languages I speak lol
You have a great voice. Like you do (or should do) voice work. I thought this would be a weird comment, but seems I'm not the only one who thinks so! 😁
Your hair looks great! I have to agree with you about Joico conditioner. I'm a product junkie and have tried many, many conditioners, but I keep coming back to Joico because it never lets me down! I think I'm going to try the shampoo now as well... thanks!!
Hello Dominque, my brothers discovered you a couple weeks ago and thought that we look alike. Since then I have been looking at all your videos. Thank you for all your tips and advices. I have just ordered most of the hair products you mentioned!
Clélia Dangué Hi Clélia! Awww! I have a twin! Tell your brothers thank you for “introducing” us. And really hope you like all of the products! Happy New Year!!
Style Domination thanks. I can’t wait to come back from vacation and start your healthy hair routine. In the meantime Happy New Year to you, your husband and your sister!
I have a trick for oil breakouts (when you need to use oil take an over the counter allergy pill).Moroccan oil argon oil applied before shampoo and relaxer touch ups.
Hey! I enjoy your videos each time I watch. I'm curious to know if you still use Leonor Greyl masks? I agree your hair is healthy but it looked thicker in older videos. You take great care of your hair for sure. It just seemed thicker before. Peace & love.
The balm is my ride or die deep conditioner. have you tried the DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask??? I was pleasantly surprised!
Yay for the video! Your hair is beautiful as always. I totally agree about not deep conditioning for hours and hours. Did you use the joico conditioner before using the Moisture recovery balm?
Hi Gem! I was going to use the regular Joico conditioner, but after using the treatment balm, there was no need! My hair was so soft - it was incredible! Thanks for watching, dollface! xoxoxo
Love your videos, have been watching for probably a year! I currently live in Ottawa for school and was wondering what salons you recommend - other than curly hair designs! Thanks ☺️
It's pretty darn moisturizing! My favourite! I always come back to it BUT, if Kpak is working for you...no need to change! Get some Moisture Recovery samples and try it out when you can without springing for the full sized $$$ bottles!
Another great video. The blue looks amazing on you. What are your thoughts (or Gloria's) thoughts regarding protein treatments? Do you ever use them, if you do what would you recommend. I understand that they help strengthen the hair. However, I think I might be protein sensitive. Thanks a bunch..
Hi Marie! Gloria and I really like protein treatments. I would recommend Joico's Kpak line and Schwarzkopf Fibreforce. Both amazing. Now - they can leave your hair feeling not as soft as other deep conditioners, so watch that. And use them sparingly. Once a month is good. xo
Hi Dominic! Thanks for this helpfully videos. I'm using this Joico line but I live in Chile and the water is really hard so althought this treatment is good I still fight to detangler my hair. Now I'll try with the K Pack of Joico beacause its a deeper line. Have you ever tried it?
I’ve been natural for about a year...but I just went back to relaxing this weekend. Lol, no regrets. I’ve been binging your videos all day
I wear my hair relaxed and I don't care what people think
naturals don't care either🤣🤣🤣#hairdown2therewaistlengthdontcare
@@mkb5984obviously you do, cause why comment

Enjoyed the update! You can ask your stylist to use Antidot Pro to prevent burning and flaking during a relaxer.
I was on the fence about ordering Joico, now I'm sold!
YOU ARE AMAZING and without make up even better ❤
Bruna Mara Brandt Awww Bruna. Thank you!!
You have beautiful hair. I am hoping to reach full bra strap length by the end of this year! Thanks for the inspiration.

Your hair is definitely Hair goals...so after the wash and condition what do you usually do??

Your hair looks beautiful 💅💖
I just found this video. I’m currently natural wanting to relax and have a question. How do I manage new growth?
What relaxer do you use? How often do you relax your hair?
I think I'd like to try Joico.

I'm struggling with my ends, They are brittle and keeps breaking, I've tried moisturise every night, it's not working, idk what to do.

Thank you! Yeah - definitely relaxed! There was a time where I was more texlaxed but I'm full on relaxed now. xoxox

hello, do you use a daily moisturiser for your hair? If so, which product? And I was shocked when you mentioned Barbados, Im from there!
I enjoy watching your channel❤️. Where to buy product in Toronto 🇨🇦?
Can you do a complete video for when you want your hair out and not in a protective style….

Thank you my sister for teaching me
Hello Dom, could you please share your hair stylist info?
You are very pretty! Love the hair. 💜
Natalia Ayasha Ciccone F Thank you!!
I don’t want a relaxer bc my hair is too much care but bc i hate my texture. Is that a bad reason to get one?
jazzy Angel No. oF course not. Ultimately, the decision is yours for whatever reason you choose. It’s your head! Do what you please!
How long did it take u to grow your hair that long.
Temi Azeez I gained about 5 inches over the last several years...it would be longer but I keep cutting it..
Style Domination Thank you for answering my question
