- For 2024 Apple has redesigned the iPad Pro line, available in 11” and 13” sizes. They’re thinner and lighter, both sizes get a super bright OLED display, and the new Apple M4 CPU with AI acceleration. Thanks to our video’s sponsor ESR Gear, check their products out here: ESR iPad 2024 Accessories: amz.run/9BF6 . We look at the 13” in our review as well and the new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro. We also compare the 13” to the last gen 12..9” mini LED model.

Lisa is one of my favorite tech reviewers. She is unique!
Started watching Lisa when she was still reviewing "normal" mobiles/cell phones waaay back when, and will watch her videos for as long asd she releases them, probably. One of the cornerstones of my YT experience, love her to bits!
Absolutely love her!
I started with her htc sensation review… that was half my life ago now
I find baffling that all TH-cam videos talked the same things about the new iPads and do not compare the mini led vs the oleds from the get go . You are the first reviewer I have seen to do so thanks a lot !!!!!
Even the little things that I want to know that the other reviewers miss like how many positions the case has
Lisa, you deserve all the love, appreciation, recognition and support you've been getting all these years of your hard work. You're truly unique in a sense that you're incredibly knowledgeable, but remain as objective, approachable and kind as ever. I pride myself in being a fan for more than decade and half and cannot wait to see you reach that 1 million subscriber milestone. You'd truly, truly deserve it. Keep up the wonderful work. Much love and admiration from Croatia. PS I am still immensely enjoying and actually watching this review on the LG C2 OLED TV I purchased after you so kindly recommended it to me on Twitter few years back.. :)
Reply to this man asap
Thanks so much!
@@mobiletechreview i’ve seen benchmarks between the nine core and 10 core variance of this iPad and in my opinion I don’t see it really being worth the money on any given level I mean seriously it was so close on many of the tests that were run on other channels it’s not even justifiable you could go with the nine cord base at 256 gb and use external storage and be completely content with that core base model as opposed to a few years ago. The base model really sucked with storage 256 is reasonable my opinion.
Thank you for your videos really I know that TH-cam is saturated with influencers and reviewers, but you are among the best reviewers for technology seriously, thank you for your work
Anyone else like me that watches all of Lisa's videos without ever being able to afford any of the products? 😭
Nope sorry, everyone can afford everything, you’re the only one in the whole world, sorry friend :(
No, I can afford everything

Idk I see a comment like this on every TH-cam tech review video I come across, so I'll say no
I e never seen this presenter; she just stumbled into my feed. But WOW. She’s great. Great presentation style, and an honest assessment of what the incremental differences are and whether it’s really worth the trouble.
She's TH-cam history, probably the most esteemed tech review channel for those who have been around at the time when YT was still issuing warnings that one should not publish one's personal data on the internet.
Amazing that after all these years Lisa is still at it and does such a great job! She’s almost to a million subs, well deserved!
She's outlasted a lot of other great tech channels! She's a legend
To be honest, I saw the superior display from the OLED display on my new 11 inch M4, instantly - without any effort at all. It was a big, satisfying improvement. I’m impressed.
Same here loving my new 11 inch iPad ❤
Lisa is unique because she can give a fair and unbiased review of Apple products. Most other reviewers are so wishy-washy. One video, they praise the iPad. A week later, a video on “I Made A Mistake”. Next one, “I Was Wrong About The iPad”. Next one, “What Was Apple Thinking?” Next one, “What They DIDN’T You!” All click-bait BS!
And don’t get me started on all the haters in those comment sections! 🙄
Thanks for keep it real, Lisa. You’re the tech OG in my opinion and you’ve kept yourself out of the cesspool of those pseudo-reviewers. And I LOVE the new hair! (Sorry, it’s been awhile since I’ve visited your channel if you’ve had this new style for awhile . Subscribing! ) ❤️
They saved the best review for last! This was the review I was waiting for! Thanks, Lisa! 👍🏽
I love your tech reviews, Lisa! Keep up the good work!
Lisa, I've been following your reviews for years. Grateful for your factual, detailed and fun reviews. Keep them coming!
Best Tech reviewer hands down! This review covered more of what people really want to know than any other one I have watched!
Hi Lisa! , Thanks for posting this video
As always, fantastic review. Thank you Lisa
I love this channel a lot. I hink it's severely underrated. Lisa has a very unique and charming way of explaining things and i love it. Keep it up!
i've been waiting for almost two years for this review ( and the OLED iPad... ) !
Hi there, another great review!! As usual, thank you 😊
Excellent review.
Great, balanced review, thanks.
I grew up with your reviews Lisa, makes me so happy when I randomly stumble across one of your reviews, love ya!
Thanks Lisa, great review!
Amazing as always Review , love the new hair style Lisa ❤
Amazing review! Love your style too!
Excellent overview- unique to the rest.
I remember finding Lisa's channel back in 2012 when she reviewed the Galaxy S3. I'm glad to see she's still making great reviews!
Thanks for pointing out this accessory from ESR. The keyboards look really interesting. In fact, I wasn't originally planning on buying a new iPad anymore, the price of the iPad and keyboard and pen and protective case didn't seem justifiable to me. But now the math looks different and maybe I will buy it after all.
I love your channel, which offers very practical reviews and also discusses the technical details superbly.
Many thanks for that!
The Procase iPad M4 case is excellent too. A very very nice, very affordable alternative to the Apple Smart Case.
Now that's what I call review ma'am.
Your video was just point on, where other reviewers were beating around the bush.
You've rather focused onto the practicality and even compared Last gen Mini Led ipad Pro.
Thanks for for such amazing content.
yay!!! Thank you LIsa! I was hoping for your take on this. I picked it up without even reading much into it. LOL!
Lisa you're wearing a Black Clover T-shirt!! 😍😍😍 As if you couldn't get any cooler. But you just did. x1000 🤘
before I buy any laptop or tablet I listen to you last, after watching others. Your views are always the final word for me. You have convinced me on many occasions with buying X1 Carbons and X1 Yogas. After watching this video I'll finally move from my iPad Pro 12.9 2015 to the lastest M4 13. Thanks for your excellent reviews!! They've never failed me!
I had a Gen 3 11" Pro that was pushing 6 years old. I had the Magic Keyboard and pencil. I think it is a worthy upgrade from that generation. The display really pops, the speed bump is barely noticeable. The keyboard is a worthy upgrade. Lisa didn't demo the improved tool interface with Freeform when you squeeze. That's a great feature that will no doubt be picked up in other products. Overall I'm super happy. Apple's trade-in made it more economical. Reviewers rarely mention that when discussing prices.
I just bought it , and it was beautiful ❤
Lisa your the only tech channel that I continue to sub to these days. Seriously though we need you to hit that 1 mil sub count yo!!
LOVE THE SHIRT
Love the shirt! And the ipad :)) but i don't need a new tablet tbh. I'm till happy it exists, as an update was overdue.
Lisa is a rare gem. She is one of the few people I trust for reviews of Apple products.
Ah finally the only review i need
I ain’t got rhythm either. Great video!!❤
I have the 12.9 M2 and the 13" M4 now. The new M4 doesn't have the white light bleeds I see on the M2.
Wow are those your drawings? They’re really good
lisa how is the battery light use not full brightness? My fave as always
Is it bright enough to be used in full sunlight, such as a chart plotter on a boat? Thanks.
I received my M4 iPad Pro 13 inch with 1tb at storage and I have been putting it through the tests comparing it to my M1 iPad Pro 12.9 with one terabyte the storage. I use them strictly for photo editing and Lightroom and Photoshop and the occasional 4K drone footage editing in LumaFusion. And what a difference the new M4 does with importing exporting all the raw image files from my Sony a7rv. it is two minutes and 30 seconds faster importing nine gigs of raw files to Lightroom. And it three minutes and 30 seconds faster, rendering the same images to JPEG compared to the M1 iPad Pro.
Now me, I could care less if it’s thinner I put a case on it. But the new Apple Pencil Pro is so much better than the second generation pencil because it don’t lag whatsoever for what I do. Apple had a Homerun with this M4 chip. Love the channel Lisa I have been a subscriber for over 10 years
The truth, as you say, is that the M4 iPad Pro is an excellent tablet as long as you buy it for what it does, not buying it in the hope that someday it will run MacOS, as it will never. It is the best tablet on the market by far, and although that comes with a hefty price, most buyers use it because they need it, and if they keep it for five years, they will get value for money.
Can you do HDR blending as well? or would you need a separate workflow / app for that?
How is battery life on ipad pro m2 12,9inch? How much it last on normal day? I see a lot of guys complaining about battery life of m2 12,9inch ipad pro. I now doubting or its worth to pick one for my self if its battery life is not good. Thanks in advance.
I was an early subscriber to the best.
Lisa is also my favorite reviewer. She gets right to it!
Do I need a screen protector on top of the nano-textured display.?🤔
My frames have been dropping on games my m2 chip iPad ran smoothly any advice
If there's a new Apple product out, there's one channel I head to first above all the others and that's right here of course to hear Mama Lisa's thoughts on it. Hands down THE most underrated tech TH-camr.
Beautiful ❣️❣️
The pogo pins are the same, so technically not incompatible. Just a matter of the magnets being in different positions which is why the m4 pro keyboard itself wont hold onto m2 pro 12.9. Yes?
Lisa , one detail is a bit wrong imho ... you have the feeling of a click on AirPods Pro when u squezze them not thx to a haptic engine, but from the sound of the click that is coming on the airpods pro ... Great review as always.
I like the 11 inch
the oled screen is so much better then the 13 in ipad air i got the ipad air at first then returned it next day and got the pro
It would be useful to know not only how well it edits 4K video with FCP or Davinci Resolve-- but how fast it imports and exports video files to tethered media drive (say, versus Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, MacBook Air & Pro)
There is definitely a difference using the ApplePencil on the nano vs glass. Try it at the store. There is a lot of uneveness / resistance feel when gliding the tip of the pencil on glass. On the nano the tip glides consistently smooth back and forth. My problem with the pencilPro is that I sometimes squeeze the pen hard when I draw and that will activate the haptic/squeeze menu which can be annoying. I suppose you can turn off the feature but it's also helpful feature to change brush/pencil settings quickly.
Thanks to your review I waited and just bought an iPad Pro M2 with 256GB brand new for $899 and the pencil 2 for $79. I think I got what I need for the next 5-6 years.
Hi Lisa, great review. Just a small point of correction though; I don’t think Midjourney runs locally, therefore the AI capabilities of the M4 won’t have any impact on how Midjourney performs.
Always my favourite review. Still don't see the need to upgrade from my current iPad 11" 2021.
Don’t see the need to upgrade from my 2018. Weight reduction is tempting but iPad OS is still too limiting.
@@ryanw8664 Will probably change this year. There has to be a reason for the crazy over powered M4 to be in this thing. i'm sure they're planning on changing the OS to utilize all that power. if they don't its the dumbest upgrade they've ever done
@@Trevor_inkI'm going to be so mad
@@Leo-yn5fx Me too bro lol
@@Trevor_ink they won't otherwise it'll kill off their entry macs.
Apple will always make sure it only dips barely the toes of what mac os can do.
This M4 release is them basically shitting on qualcom for delayed elite x so that now they'll have to admit that its only as good or a tiny better than the last gen m3.
That black clover shirt is rad yo
Heh, I loved that you called out JerryRigEverything busting one of these iPads since that video keeps popping up in my suggestions...which is why if I buy one, first thing I'll do is cocoon it in a nice, sturdy case!
What total cost of replacing cracked Tandem OLED.
Picked up the 11 inch and loving it.The screen is BEAUTIFUL. Apple gave me $395 for my 2021
Lisa, I haven't seen you in forever! You look good! 🤗
that haircut is mint ... and her sense of style is gold
Loving mines I got the 13’ 256g space black.
Nice, thanks for this. i’ve been using the 13” iPad Pro pretty intensively now for the last week & would add the following comments:
A LOT of money & I upgraded from a 12.9 iPad Pro 11 (Pre M chip). I found that the speed & CPU tasks are only ‘a bit’ better & the OLED ‘a bit’ better. Far more incremental than I would have thought. Possibly WWWDC’s launch of iPadOS 18 might /should take far more advantage of the hardware promise here but I suspect will also be simply ‘a bit’ better. I also miss the zoom lens; the landscape face camera a welcome addition buy hey, should have obviously been there long ago.
Re. the new, matching ERS Rebound Keyboard: this a great surprise, exceptional & now with those extra function keys. A no-brainer really, AUD$113 shipped (given their discounts right night now) vs. AUD$549 for Apple’s Magic keyboard.
What I did find nonsensical however, is that those other new ERS Cases (both Rebound & Shift) are NOT compatible with the Rebound Keyboard - the magnets don’t work across devices. How weird & what a design oversight. In my case, what I wanted to be able to do is simply shift back & forth from the more bulky keyboard to Case when the need arose. No so. No compatibility there.
Wish they would allow Xcode on iPad
Lisa, can you please start testing to check PWM especially if it’s OLED? It’s important to know for those who are sensitive to PWM. Thanks.
It's very rare to see an OLED display without PWM, alas.
As someone who has owned both Black and White Magic keyboards for the iPad believe me the Black one looks terrible after awhile while the White one will have the same wear and still look good despite it.
I have the M1 iPad Pro 11in. I’m probably going to upgrade to M4 iPad Pro 11in for the oled display because I watch movies. I’m still going to wait first for wwdc to see what software iPadOS 18 brings.
Don't forget, iPadOS 18 won't even be officially released until sometime in Sept, unless you do the beta/developer updates along the way...probably starting in July.
@@PJ-sv4iw Yes you’re right. iPadOS 18 won’t release until September usually. I’m not a developer. I just want to at least see what the software will look like.
Can confirm, the ESR Shift is great, raised height absolutely a game changer in Universal Control setup when not using it in drawing angles.
I'd suggest something other than black, got the blue one for 13" M4, the texture looks a bit more premium in this color. Decent build, sturdy, in case alone still pretty thin and light.
Enjoyable review! Some additional thoughts:
My 24GB M2 MacBook Air is a killer workstation. Amazing visuals, audios with double monitors & speaker systems. Doing work is great thanks to support for 3D mouses + numpad + trackpad + shortcut button mouse... but all that goes away the moment I unplug it. The Air's screen is meh to the point I don't use it for color referencing, speakers are mediocre for consumptions, and my CAD workflow with keyboard+trackpad alone is just not as efficient.
That's where the iPad Pro shines. Amazing screen, amazing speakers for the size, the Pencil Pro can be killer of a trade tool for the right workflow (when the apps exist like mine). Your apps may or may not appreciate M4 (my apps do have some CPU heavy tasks), but I'm also seeing much snappier multitasking, less app reloads (might be the 16GB).
Lighter, thinner, faster, better Magic Keyboard, better pencil, LiDar, personally it's almost everything I'd ask for a device away from desk, both work and play. Some criticisms for iPadOS still, but I'm not trying to *replace* the Mac, I use both each to their own advantage.
The pricing is interesting. It is indeed getting ridiculous vs a MBA, but then like above, the MBA is a fairly basic package, without all that extra work and play prowess... just like the iPad Air. Just lame that the iPad Air is currently stuck with the old Magic Keyboard... which at least it should be cheaper. I think mimicking MBA/MBP split makes more senses than ever, but there are still pieces missing, and it's not exactly a marketing success if most people don't get it.
Music production is basic still on the iPads, but is great for brainstorming simple stuff outside your studio.
Work loads will make it get hot. So heads up.
Not a big fan of the PIP, but I guess to each their own.
The display is nice and is lighter. Finding a case for it right now, is very limited but not for the air lol. Anyways overall not bad, but always could be better :)
So intrested what this devices will be like in 10 years
I begrudgingly updated from my M2 to the M4. The haloing on the mini led is horrendous for content creation imo.
Black clover 🍀 t-shirt 😍❤️
Holy smoke i havent seen her in Mobile Tech review in 13 years ago wow alot has changed. My S24 ultra is a huge different than at the time i was using a Galaxy S2 back in 2011..
Oh that shirt
Cameras HAVE changed, as the Ultrawide has been dropped from the M4 iPad Pro, also 256/512GB use a binned (lose 1 CPU core) and have only 8GB of RAM, how important that is to you, only you know. Initial tests suggest they make little difference on iPadOS17.5
I like your hair
Cute hair and earrings
Not interested in the products but love her style and review
Is the 11 to small for watching movies?
If you put the 11 and 13 side by side watching a movie it’s not really a lot in it because of the aspect ratio
Try to look for a reviewer having them side by side and see what you think
Don't know how I feel about the screen's curved corners.
A tech product hasn’t “released” until Lisa reviews it

a reviewer I trust
Logitech makes a far superior keyboard case for $229 which will be reduced to $139 after about two months. I’ve had the product on my 10.5 inch MacBook Pro for 7 years no problems whatsoever has everything and more than Apple much larger trackpad light up keyboard and most importantly protection for the edges of the over $1000 iPads. The only thing magic about the iPad case is the ridiculous high price of $350.💵💵💵💵💵💵💵👈👀

MidJourney is a web based app. I don't think a fast processor helps with that. Locally run models like Stable Diffusion I don't think can run on iPadOS, and 8 GB of RAM would definitely not be usable with it anyway.
Yes, my bad, I meant Stable Diffusion, which is available via an app called Draw Things. BTW, the 1-2TB models have 16GB RAM, but it will run on 8GB.
For some reason watching her reviews helps with my anxiety. My upstairs neighbor's noise has been driving my anxiety up. Just watch Lisa videos.... -_-
15:01 😂😂😂
i dont get, you say colors match but i can clearly see WB is off, new ipad is more pink old one is more green
Most overpowered netflix machine
Ipad air pleeeeease
Good to see it i the hands of TH-cam reviewer who actually uses for drawing and is not whining about Apple making it lighter, thinner or more powerful. Yes Apple needs to make MacOS available for it to take advantage of the power, but that has never a fault of the device but a plus for iPad Pro.and a reason why people do not upgrade often ss it's way futureproofed. Good review.
Tandem, two OLED screens on one iPad
I bought the 11" (1TB Wi-Fi model w/keyboard and pencil) to replace my 2018 11" (1TB Wi-Fi model). I'm expecting this to last me at least 4 or 5 years just like the last one. I'm really hoping they do some big things with iPad OS next month at WWDC. Apple moves at a snails pace with features. I cannot figure out why they won't allow a dual-boot OS (macOS / iPadOS), with "shared access to the storage." There's just no technical reason to hold back this hardware and the way users want to use it.
2018 ipad pro and still going strong 6 years later. This damn tablet is gonna take you further than 6
@@Leo-yn5fx Still use my 2018 12.9" iPad Pro (basically maxed out with apple accessories) every day on my desktop. Desktop setup: 27" Studio Display and 14" M3 Pro MBP). But I will purchase an M4 iPad Pro 13" 1 TB model with Apple Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro accessories around Thanksgiving 2024 time frame - if all goes according to plan. My 2018 iPad Pro will then become a trusted secondary tablet in my household.
It's highly unlikely that iPads will see any type of "dual boot" feature implemented anytime soon, if ever.
Apple has simply always viewed Macs and iPads as two different products for different workflows/use cases, going back to Steve Jobs. The more logical explanation for the M4 SoC is because it contains an NPU (neural processing unit), which drives A.I. functionality -- an area that Apple has fallen behind in, versus its competitors (Samsung, Google [Pixel], & Chinese brands).
Also, Apple is a bit paranoid (perhaps rightly so) that providing iPads with even "MacOS Lite" functionality will mean iPad sales will cannibalize MacBook sales. Regardless of the reasons, it's a classic Apple "cash grab" that helps explain why the market capitalization of their stock is nearly $3 trillion ! 😮 🤑
Money money and more money
What is it used for?
You may want to re-watch the video, because she showed you some uses. She showed drawing art with Wacom-like stylus features, video editing, gaming, and more.
The iPad can also be used for most things that most people do, like Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, and Photoshop. For more specialized needs, you still need a computer.
1:20 did we just get gnomed? 🤣 (anyone remember that meme lol)
