Some diagnostic tools such as the IID tool will show you what diff you have fitted. In the CCF (Car Configuration File) when you select the rear diff menu/drop down it will show as either a locking or non-locking diff 👍🏻
Great informative video Jay. Cant wait to see how the car performs off road with the spacers, I'll be interested to see if they cause premature bearing failure or not? (hopefully not)
Thanks David, hope to get the spacers fitted before Sunday when we are heading off to Derbyshire with the Cheshire LRC. I have replaced a couple bearings in the last 2 years, so wouldn’t be surprised if I needed 2 more with our without the spacers, but let’s see.
As far as I know, the Rear Diff Lock image, is not shown at all, if the vehicle doesn't have it. It will only show a green diff lock in the centre and nothing at all in the rear. Maybe it's a European model feature, I have a N. American spec. Good to know though, Cheers!
Hi, could be a regional difference or perhaps between diesel and petrol models? I have definitely seen diesel D3's that show the green lock that don't have a locker.
On my Land Cruiser it has a big lever.Centre Diff lock engaged as well as a light. I turn the knob labelled Rear Diff Lock to engage it, that also has a light. Simples.

@@JayTeeCars Ya maybe, mine is the Petrol V8
That is true with a D4, but not the D3. The D3 will always show both lock icons no matter the configuration.
I don’t think mine does
