You caused some family discussion and a bit of Googling. It's not quiz's (never apostrophe s to form plurals) or quizs or even (as I thought) quizes but (can you believe?) quizzes.
Brilliant Liam really enjoyed the quiz again this time I got 7 out of the 8 question's. Only one that catch me out was question 8. I went for Blackbird. 😢
Fun informative quiz again, thank you! I see Buzzards in the mornings quite a lot, but can never tell if they are honey or common, assuming they aren't the rough legged ones since I'm on the river Lea jus north of London... They have a lighter patch on centre underside of each wing.. Maybe they're not even buzzards but they're huge and graceful and circle in pairs.
Flatlining on 4. The question about the wildcat was special, I live in the Pyrenees and have seen them a few times here. I also lived in Scotland for 25 years, though, as I lived on the Isle of Mull I couldn't have seen one there. Thanks again Liam
I do see more buzzards than kestrels these days, but still expected kestrel being more common. today on my patch I saw 4 and no buzzards. So I got numbers 3 & 8 wrong. Great fun as always and informative too!
I didn’t Google anything but I realised once you gave the answers that my initial thoughts to the answers were correct but I wasn’t confident enough to go with them…. Doh !🥴😂
Isn't a Fallow Deer also native ? Glad the number of Robins have come up. When I were a lad, House Sparrow was no:1 in towns, but in the larger countryside, Blackbird was no:1. I got the Peregrine speed correct, I got the Common Toad, and the Scottish Wildcat, and the Muntjac deer skull correct also. Poor Kestrel numbers have plummeted. It was the most common bird of prey in the 1970s. Nice to see Buzzard numbers increased, and Red Kite (my favourite and the wife's favourite bird). Surprised at the number of moths. Hopefully this will encourage the Nightjar !
Four out of eight this week. I was surprised by the Robins too. Thank you Liam I’m enjoying these quizzes I’m learning new things each week. Take care and thank you.
My family are Norfolk natives. We’ve been here for hundreds of years but I’ve only been back here for 25 having left when I was 16, returning when I was 40. I’ve lived in many places around the world and Britain, but I’m always astounded at how much wildlife we have here and how common it is to see examples of it - from stoats to Sika, Hares to hedgehogs, we have an abundance of creatures living alongside us.
OK paused. Here are my answers. 1. 200mph, 2. True, 3. B. Buzzard, 4. False (I'm sure there are Lynx in Spain as well as other wild cats elsewhere in Europe), 5. Roe Deer, just a guess, 6. Another guess, 250, 7. True (Red Deer and Roe Deer), 8. Blackbird I would have thought (my answer might have something to do with the Blackbirds nesting in my back garden though 😂). Edit: 5/8. An improvement on my score last week anyway 😁
I'm surprised the buzzards are so common! I knew they were common, but I didn't realise there were more of them than the others. Maybe I just tend to see them in more rural locations but I see the others also come into slightly more built up areas so I see them more. I was shocked to see a red kite hunting outside one of the buildings at the university of Oxford when I visited for a conference.
1; c 2; false 3; kestrel 4; false 5; fallow deer 6; 250 7; true 8; robin Not so good this week. Although the Peregrine falcon has been officially clocked at 242 mph.
That was fun! You might not believe me but I aced that one --8/8. I knew five instantly and the other 3 could guess right from the options (would've got 6 without multi-choice). Since you're in Norfolk, where I've seen several muntjac deer, that skull wasn't hard, even without the 'tusks'. A lucky find while out on a nature walk?
4/8 and I thought I was pretty clued up about wildlife 😢 Round here we can have over 30 kites wheeling overhead in a normal day but only a few buzzards They follow the plough with the gulls which is a marvellous sight
Answering as I watch: 1. C. 240mph. But it achieves this by essentially falling which seems a bit like cheating in a fastest animal competition. 2. False 3. A. Kestrel 4. True 5. Goat 6. B 250 7. True 8. B Blackbird My score: 1. And that's just on the true/false question 7 :(
5/8 again. I didn't know Q2 about the Toad and guessed wrong. I didn't know Q6 about the moths, and guessed wrong with B, 250. Q5, got deer, but not Muntjac, which is ironic as there's quite a few of them around where I live, but I photographed a nice Roe deer on Thursday.
Hi Liam Another great quiz.My answers:- Q1,B,Q2 True,Q3 Buzzard,Q4 False Q5 Total guess Muntjac,Q6 C,Q7 True,Q8 Bluetit. Glad the most common bird is the Robin, 1 Robin and 20000 blue tits in our garden, well almost. Happy Days!😃
Well done! Ah, that graphic slipped the net. I used last weeks question graphics as a template and must have not completely updated that question beforehand, doh! Thanks for taking part.
(5/8) Not gonna lie, I am kind of proud of this one. Went against intuition and choose 2,500 which is an incredible number but they are such as varied creature. It appears we only have 1,500 in ireland which is still an incredible number. Thanks for the quiz Liam. Very Enjoyable. Ps. I will start studying skulls now 🙂
I thought the Peregrine's stoop was 200mph but the addition of 240 threw me as I thought there may have been a new study where a new top speed was registered. The moth question also shocked me as that is one of my biggest fears. Other than that, I nailed it. Need to share this with everyone I know. Fantastic quiz!
Buzzards, meh? I had kessies. Do we know what's behind the decline in kestrels? Habitat? Pesticides? Competition from other predators? There are more moths than I thought .... 10 times more! Seriouslt unsure about the 'garden birds', so I was bit surprised I got that one. 6/8 That was 2 better than I was expecting! Really looking forward to the next one. Maybe a 'guess the turd' round?
Living in New York, I didn't even attempt the quiz, but I learned a lot from your answers! The UK robins are so lovely and quite different from ours. (No offense to the US robin, which is designated as the state bird of Connecticut, Michigan, and Wisconsin.)
@mateicontas4381 The European blackbird is also a thrush, but significantly bigger than a redwing, which is closer in size to the American Robin. It's true that tha European blackbird is one of our most abundant garden birds and lives here all the year round. Oh, and I apologise. I got used to thinking of our robins as thrushes, but recent DNA evidence shows they are actually related to the Old World flycatchers, a family of small birds that do what it says on the tin.
Oh dear, only 4 right. Must warch all your episodes. I will never get skulls correct. Thank you, very stimulating. Hope there is more to come. Regards.
I was expecting a few people to say this. The 242 mph is questionable and not a representation of what the bird could actually achieve (being set from 17000 feet, which is far higher than the bird would naturally go and would allow higher speed due to less air pressure). The official recognised highest speed is 200mph from guiness book of records.
Very surprised about the Robin, in my garden, the different tits far outnumber our one Robin. Wonder if he will return to his nest area in my shed. I should post a video of their activity last May.
Probably because robins are more territorial, so there’s going to be less in a given area than the various species of tits which are more tolerant of members of the same species
4 correct again - looking forward to the next quiz! Was caught out by the toad question. I thought it was a newt species that isn’t found in Northern Ireland ( GCN? )
Thanks Liam, very enjoyable quiz.
Love it, keep it up. You deserve to do well on TH-cam
really enjoy these quiz's I got 5 this week, Moths and the robin I got wrong.
You caused some family discussion and a bit of Googling. It's not quiz's (never apostrophe s to form plurals) or quizs or even (as I thought) quizes but (can you believe?) quizzes.
4 again but I like a challenge .it’s rare to find a fairly difficult quiz so love it as it informs me
This week i scored 5 YAY! An improvement of 2 on the last quiz!
I live in America and got three right.
😂
I'm not very good at these quizzes, but getting better watching A shot of Wildlife.
Brilliant Liam really enjoyed the quiz again this time I got 7 out of the 8 question's. Only one that catch me out was question 8. I went for Blackbird. 😢
Exactly the same here.
Great quiz Liam, 6/8 this time, I was surprised that even the blackbirds outnumbered the bluetits. Thanks for making this 👍
Fun informative quiz again, thank you!
I see Buzzards in the mornings quite a lot, but can never tell if they are honey or common, assuming they aren't the rough legged ones since I'm on the river Lea jus north of London... Well, 4/8 again... I think I need a study guide from you Liam ! Thank you !!!
I do see more buzzards than kestrels these days, but still expected kestrel being more common. today on my patch I saw 4 and no buzzards. So I got numbers 3 & 8 wrong. Great fun as always and informative too!
Thankyou fun .and learning .
I didn’t Google anything but I realised once you gave the answers that my initial thoughts to the answers were correct but I wasn’t confident enough to go with them…. Doh !🥴😂
5 not bad . The last one was the biggest shock

Fallow were introduced by the Normans for food and sport during the conquest 👍

Great quiz, I scored 4
Four out of eight this week. I was surprised by the Robins too. Thank you Liam I’m enjoying these quizzes I’m learning new things each week. Take care and thank you.
A disappointing 4, but I've learned something new today. Not bad for an old dog. Loved this quiz.
5/8. Was pretty convinced more Blackbirds than Robins!

5/8 - thanks for another great quiz!
Wowed me loads. Subscribed.
Great quiz, only got 4 but its a work in progress!!
The numbers of robins surprised, but of course robins are smaller and love to hide in shrubs.
OK paused. Here are my answers. 1. 200mph, 2. True, 3. B. Buzzard, 4. False (I'm sure there are Lynx in Spain as well as other wild cats elsewhere in Europe), 5. Roe Deer, just a guess, 6. Hello I got 7 out of 8 got mixed up with 240 On the peregrine one 👍
7/8 very enjoyable and informative thanks 👍🏴
Excellent quiz, thanks 😊
Love the quiz.
Thanks for another thought provoking quiz Liam. 6-8 again. I need to up my knowledge on Deer!
Brilliant wee video thanks 😊
I was surprised at the Robin. I was sure it was the Blue Tit but they are not so territorial so you often see many more together.
3/8 that was tricky but enjoyable.
Thank you so much 🌻
Good quiz. Some surprises in the answers managed 4. Many thanks👍
Got them all correct.
I'll play - 200mph, true, buzzard, false, muntjac, c lots of moths, true red & roe, robin (see them dawn & dusk) Yay & didn't cheat! 🤣🤣
Wow that’s impressive!
Another great quiz Liam 6/8 Moths and Robin got me !
Most enjoyable - thanks!
2/8.... a lot of guessing involved!
Forwarding these on to my grown children.... that could be interesting!
Brilliant quiz, please do more. Got 6 out of 8 👍😝

Pretty sure I had six out of eight there…moths and muntjac deer tripped me up. Great fun though!
Took me 15 mins on pause to remember it was a Muntjac. You'd have got it given time. The moth one really threw me though
Thank you for the information ❤
4/8 and I thought I was pretty clued up about wildlife 😢 Round here we can have over 30 kites wheeling overhead in a normal day but only a few buzzards They follow the plough with the gulls which is a marvellous sight

What is astonishing to me is that this simple format of questions and answers have sparked a whole new interest in wild life I got all questions wrong

Spring before last I counted about 250 bluetits in one tree, they were very loud. Was it a mass wedding?
6, this time
Snap
Just the month question wrong, I guessed 250, but no 2500 wow! Great fun, thanks Liam 👍
Thank you Liam!
I got 5 and enjoyed the quiz.
Great fun. Only got 4/8 though!
8 last time, 4 this time. shocking result.
5/8 from New Zealand... Boom. Got the Muntjac, too....
Living in New York, I didn't even attempt the quiz, but I learned a lot from your answers! The UK robins are so lovely and quite different from ours. (No offense to the US robin, which is designated as the state bird of Connecticut, Michigan, and Wisconsin.)
Your Robin is a thrush. Our closest equivalent is probably the redwing, a small thrush that is mainly a winter visitor to the UK.
@@missharry5727Actually I think the equivalent would be the eurasian blackbird as its more common and they might also be closely related
Your comments are much appreciated. I will definitely look into properly identifying the American type. I wonder how the misnomer came about?
@mateicontas4381 The European blackbird is also a thrush, but significantly bigger than
a redwing, which is closer in size to the American Robin. It's true that tha European blackbird is one of our most abundant garden birds and lives here all the year round.

Very helpful discussion! Thanks to all, and I welcome more input on this subject. 😃
That was fun, I got 5/8 - so, not bad
6/8 ... I'll take that. Was amazed at 2500 moths and also got the skull one wrong. Had it down as a roe deer.
Oh dear, only 4 right. Must warch all your episodes. I will never get skulls correct. Thank you, very stimulating. Hope there is more to come. Regards.
1. B 200mph
2. True
3. C red kite
4. True
5. Roe deer
6. B 250
7. True - Red and Roe
8. B Blackbird
I thought the top speed record of a peregrine was 242mph?
I was expecting a few people to say this. The 242 mph is questionable and not a representation of what the bird could actually achieve (being set from 17000 feet, which is far higher than the bird would naturally go and would allow higher speed due to less air pressure). @AShotOfWildlife Ah ok, thanks so much for the clarification. I was a bit confused
