Liam reviews Star Wars: X-Wing: Wraith Squadron by, Aaron Allston. Wraith Squadron was the fifth book in the Star Wars: X-Wing books series from the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and the first in the Wraith Squadron Trilogy. In this book, Rebel hero, Wedge Antilles, builds a new X-Wing fighter squadron called Wraith Squadron. Wraith Squadron is made up of a ragtag group of misfits and outcasts, hand-chosen by Wedge for their superior flying skills as well as their effective ground combat skills. This leads to a story featuring a cast of unlikely heroes, searching for a way to put aside their personal grievances with the Empire and work together as a team.

Great review Liam! Wraith Squadron is one of my favourite Legends novels of all time, and the original Wraith Squadron trilogy is one of my favourite series of Legends books of all time and I love it whenever people talk about them here on TH-cam. I'd love to see more of these smaller reviews from you guys in the future. Not just of the Essential Legends books, which, judging from the upcoming titles for later this year, and into next year, seems like it's now just the new format for all of the Legends novels, but for other books and/or comics Legends and Canon.

@@starwarslads That would be great. Especially for books like A New Dawn, Aftermath, Tarkin, and other books that came out almost a decade ago now. Which makes me feel old, knowing that The Force Awakens is almost nine years old now. Lol.

I haven't yet read this book but I do plan to eventually since I really enjoyed Stackpole's X-Wing quadrilogy and I've heard very good things about Allston's Wraith trilogy. I've also heard it makes Zsinj a much more threatening character than he was in Courtship of Princess Leia.

It’s certainly worth a read! Very different tone from Rogue Squadron, but with the same emphasis on character. I highly recommend checking the trilogy out.
