    Love this build brother! I built a hoop coop for my quail (has a solid floor) and is similar to yours but not nearly as good. I'm going to build a greenhouse this weekend based off of yours. Thanks for the great video and inspiration!

    I worked in some large greenhouse ranges and built a lot of quonset type house from scratch and kits. You did a great job. I have built these for home use very similar. One tip I have is when you attach the plastic to wood is to cut about 4"s wider and fold the plastic outward and staple thru to create a backing. This keeps the plastic from tearing. I also use double headed staging nails to hold the firing strips. Easy to remove when changing plastic. You can buy different bar clamp type channels for greenhouse plastic from greenhouse suppliers. The back window up high gives passive cooling. Great idea.

      Thank you! The only thing I wish I would have done different is spent the money for the “wiggle wire” like you said it would be easier when changing the plastic! Thanks for the tips and the kind words! Thank you for watching!

    Looks good. great job on the greenhouse. I like this idea as it could be put on top of 3'-4' walls to give some additional height.

      Thanks! I am 6’4” and I have to watch my head in these shelters but you could absolutely add some side walls for some additional height! Thanks for watching!

    I found using the pipe.insulation will cause the plastic to blister and rip

    I made one similar to this 20 years ago. I used hog panels and t posts. Still standing the only maintenance is replacing the plastic.

    Hog rings! I'll bet Tractor supply sells the likers and the rings. I'm going to give this a try, then remove the plastic and use the frame for a trellis! Thanks.

    Great Job! And yes, you do need that window in the back to get airflow when too hot inside. Love the pipe insulation on the ends. We've built several 2 panel hoops for chickens, with tarps instead of plastic and in process of building a 4 panel one as a greenhouse. Again, great job!!

    nice job. I've learned to zip tie the cattle panel array together before securing it to the frame

    I used hog rings on both my hoop coops before i used zip ties and 8 years later they're still holding. I'm wishing I would have seen this beforehand because I made mine the same way but you made a few things stronger like the door frame notch and the center frame. Going to use that when I make my green house thanks

    How does it hold up to decent sized hail? How do you move it to where you want it without it getting damaged? Looks great!

    • @raisingtherogershomestead3148
      @raisingtherogershomestead3148  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We have had some pretty good size hail and we had no issues! And it slides on the skids! These things are extremely robust they can take a beating! Thanks for watching!

    I’m thinking about a design similar to this, however, at 6’2”, I’m going to modify so I can comfortably walk throughout.

      I don’t blame you! I’m 6’4” and in the middle it’s right at the top of my head. But I figure no longer than I’m in there I don’t think it was worth the sides. Let me know how yours turns out! Thanks for watching!
