Hey Pete, fantastic series and love your stuff overall. I’ve only been playing for the last 20 months or so and have been obsessed with your content along my very rapid learning journey. (As the saying goes, beware the injured golfer… more specifically my addition is beware the late adopter, middle age golfer) No question PACE is the winner every time… you don’t put to a dustbin lid for line - get inside the dustbin lid on pace and you have won half the battle. Recently a fellow member at my club gave me a variation of the Bradshaw drill in this video that has really helped me (interestingly it introduces the finishing position mentioned in your earlier video in this series).. The variation I was introduced to is simply to take two balls, place them at a comfortable distance from one another (maybe a foot) and using your dominant hand ‘push’ ball A to connect with ball B. One handed. As you improve the distance increases and you continue until you are tired of the drill. This has given me a number of elements outlined in this series and I think it is game changing! Ps. Ready for a viewer challenge of any description (1 club, 3 club, 2nd hand bag) whenever you are able to head down under…
Use the Bradshaw balls drill most of the time when I’m practicing my putting. Practice the one arm bandit too from time to time. Over the last 12-18 months has become one of the strongest parts of my game. Love these drills, more please . 👍🏌️
I bought a Scotty Cameron which replaced my set's stock putter (a hunk o junk) two years ago in 2019. I held them both in one hand and basically, with a stiff arm, did a pendulum swing with each club. My Scotty was CLEARLY a better balanced piece (it better be for the money by default) but you could vividly FEEL it. I have no clue why my thick skull didn't think to do that on the putting green with practice shots until right now after this vid. The 'movement of 1' is so key to the way I putt and I had never realized it. I just always thought of it as a pendulum. smooth fluid movement that is consistent. Glad to know I was at least near the right path on that way of thinking. GREAT video Pete. Between you and Rick I might just end up not sucking horribly someday lol.
Struggled for years with pace until I started looking at the hole for putts over about 8 feet. Then sometimes would not hit the center of putter. Bought a Cleveland Cero (SOFT). This putter is designed so putts anywhere on the face go the same distance. Game changer.
Line or Pace. The Bradshaws balls drill is a revelation for me. I’ll definitely be using that before rounds and practice rather than putting a fist full of golf balls at a hole. This will be unbelievable for concentration. Loving the videos Pete & Carl
Good video 👍 The last half of this summer I really worked on my putting mechanics and focused on pace in order to avoid 3 putts. However cozying the ball up to the hole is not as easy as one may think it is. Would love to see a video on how to read complex greens and how to approach finding the line based one's pace of course. Key word being complex.
My Dad has always held to the method of using one hand for long putts as he has an amazing feel and sensation of the club face for a long putt.... intriguing isn’t it Pete? The rhythm and result of your one handed putts in this particular video compared to two handed was amazing
Briefly touched on my initial thoughts, pace is more important because if you miss it'll just be a nice tap in whereas if you are 5 ft short/long that's still a pressure put
Thank you very much for this lesson. I usually do the first drill though I didn' t know who created it. I find it very useful, as well as the second one which I try fewer times...
Pace is key, I play with feel for pace, but practice line from 6 ft. I feel the pace during my initial practice putt, then trust my 'practiced contact for straight line' matches with my pace. Fingers crossed. Great tips for putting, thanks for the video Pete!
Two Great Drills, many thanks Pete/Carl. It was interesting that when you were doing the right arm only drill that your shoulders hardly moved ( the stroke was nearly all your right arm).
I am right hand dominate in my putting stroke, even though I have a very light grip. I use the one handed drill a lot. It has greatly helped me with speed control.
Depends on how close the ball is to the hole, and speed of green. Recently played "prairie dunes" in Kansas. The air was dry, the wind was 20mph, and the greens were perilous and rolled like a pool table. Pace was everything as I struggled with the speed that affected the line.
It's all about pace for me, recently bought a puttout and omg my putting has dramatically improved. Not leaving the ball 3,4,5 foot past the hole has made a real difference. Line or pace.
Line or pace? Pace, of course...have used the one-hand drill for years...actually played a competitive round putting with right hand only...I didn't win...Cheers, Pete, really like this series...
Here, I didn't know I was doing one of the best tips with the 2 ball practice. Sending one out and then trying to nudge a 2nd up to it, as I just preferred to do it just before starting a round..
Depends. On the short ones the pace doesnt matter unless you hit it dead center in. On the long putts pace takes over more as it is needed to play the break correctly
Line or Pace Whether TH-cam or TV, I've seen a lot of focus being placed on how much MORE important pace is than line. Been doing that "Bradshaw" drill for years, but only because in the morning before the first groups go off, there are 20 people on the practice green and only 5 or 6 practice holes!
That’s a great video. Funny I just started putting to a ball drill without knowing it was a taught technique. I figured if I can get good at hitting a golf ball much smaller then the cup when I get out on the course a cup will look much bigger. Aim small Miss small.
What about your breathing during a driver, iron, or putting swing? When do you take a breath? Do you hold it through the swing, or do you let it out as you bring the club forward?
Line or pace! I will say that any of my mates I golf with, I always say I am more worried about getting the pace right more than the line. I assume that most of the time, I can read a putt close enough that if my speed is close, I have no fear of worse than a two putt.
Hey Pete as a lefty with the one arm banded drill do I use my left hand instead of my right? Buy the way another stellar video. Great advice once again.
I've only just got the theme tune to this series 'it's what your doing it's making me feel like I'm falling'... Ball falling into the hole possibly. I get you Mr Finch! Line or pace.
LINE OR PACE. I’ve been trying to visualise bowling the ball towards the hole when I’m reading the green to try and help me judge what pace I need if that makes sense?! Seems to be helping me anyway...
Line or Pace.... Pace every time ...never up never in Ooops… I always practice pace before a round I have three paces I check all based around putter head taken back to inside, level with and outside my right foot... do this in both directions. I then go to the course knowing I have synced my stroke with the course on that day..
Line or pace? If it is just the one answer then I would say pace but obviously line and pace are very important. If you have read the line but have too much pace the put will not react the same too little and it won't get there?
Line or Pace.. Great video Pete... I'm leaning toward Pace purely because a correct line but at the wrong pace can leave you with a long and tough Par/ two putt whereas a bad line or offline shot with good pace for the distance should leave you with a good lag or par opportunity imho?
"Part of your practice should be more difficult than the game"
that.. really makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

This is definitely one of your best teaching series ever.
Jarmo Markkanen thanks jarmo, glad you’re enjoying it :)

Makes a huge amount of sense
Line or pace. Getting better with each video.
Line or Pace.

Loving the videos Pete & Carl
Daniel Batten 😀
Line or pace. Great series, extremly helpful. Thank you.
Great video! Gonna practice these drills for sure!

Line or Pace: your work is appreciated, binge watching!
William Sankey haha good stuff!
Pace from distance, line from close up. If line is wrong from short range then pace is less relevant . Great vid
Spot on putting drills will almost certainly be introducing this in my practice routine. 👍🏻
Line or Pace. Love the nudge ball drill.
Line or pace ........ very good series
Really enjoying this series Pete. It's opening my eyes to a whole new world of putting.
Line or pace.
Mike McNulty 👍🌍👀
Can’t wait to try this out.
Line or pace... Great series Pete!
That's a real eye-opener pete mate great vlog.
William Parke 👍
Pace is as he says more important, great vid again Pete!!
PACE. You know what they say, "Train hard fight easy." Nice to see the 🐊 grip in the snap shot towards the end. Great video Peter Finch.
line or pace. always happy when the pace is good as it makes me feel puts might go in
My Dad has always held to the method of using one hand for long putts as he has an amazing feel and sensation of the club face for a long putt.... intriguing isn’t it Pete? The rhythm and result of your one handed putts in this particular video compared to two handed was amazing
James Kitchen pretty shocking
Two great drills. Line or pace.

nate miller cheers :)
Bradshaw's Balls, what a brilliant drill
Awesome video Pete. Brilliant! Surely gonna try it!
Reinhardt Grobbelaar great stuff, let me know how you find it
Line or Pace really enjoyed it
It looked like master yoda was teaching ya pace! Awesome vlog Pete.
Two Great Drills, many thanks Pete/Carl. It was interesting that when you were doing the right arm only drill that your shoulders hardly moved ( the stroke was nearly all your right arm).
Line or pace....great video yet again! Cheers 🍻
For me it is the combination of line and pace. Different pace causes different line!
I am right hand dominate in my putting stroke, even though I have a very light grip. I use the one handed drill a lot. It has greatly helped me with speed control.
Line or pace
Enjoying the vids! Keep up the good work!
Depends on how close the ball is to the hole, and speed of green. Recently played "prairie dunes" in Kansas. The air was dry, the wind was 20mph, and the greens were perilous and rolled like a pool table. Pace was everything as I struggled with the speed that affected the line.
Line or pace . Good content this nice one Pete.👏👌
Another great series Pete!!
Line or Pace
Great drills!
Great video, many thanks👍
Line or Pace. I love that first drill idea ! Next you can mix it with the second drill👹
Fascinating about the size of the hole compared to pace
It's all about pace for me, recently bought a puttout and omg my putting has dramatically improved. Not leaving the ball 3,4,5 foot past the hole has made a real difference.
Line or pace.
Bizairsp good stuff bud
Line or pace. Great video series
Line or place
Great vlog Peter and Karl; this is super important mini-series and I am def going to work on my putting over the winter
Cheers
Malcolm A. Make the most of those winter days!
Line or pace.
Great viddy Pete
Line or pace
Hadn't appreciated how cheesy the intro music to this series was! Really interesting series though Pete
Line or pace? Pace, of course...have used the one-hand drill for years...actually played a competitive round putting with right hand only...I didn't win...Cheers, Pete, really like this series...
Ken Attaway great to hear ken

Really good video, I’m only a novice but like this, great info!
Line or Pace
Line or pace, really liked both those practice tips
Depends. On the short ones the pace doesnt matter unless you hit it dead center in. On the long putts pace takes over more as it is needed to play the break correctly
Line or pace
Great video peter! 😊

Capture width is very important not often know by amateur golfers
Surely pace!
Line or pace!
I will say that any of my mates I golf with, I always say I am more worried about getting the pace right more than the line. I assume that most of the time, I can read a putt close enough that if my speed is close, I have no fear of worse than a two putt.
pace is the key
another good vido like line and pace
LINE OR PACE Very interesting
Line or Pace
Pace putting is critical, line is also important but not as much
Hey Pete. Line or pace. Great video
Line or pace
But definitely pace!
Line and pace
Hey Pete as a lefty with the one arm banded drill do I use my left hand instead of my right? Buy the way another stellar video. Great advice once again.
I love it how you holed the putt with one hand and he didn’t even acknowledge it 😂😂
I've only just got the theme tune to this series 'it's what your doing it's making me feel like I'm falling'... Ball falling into the hole possibly. I get you Mr Finch! Line or pace.
Mark Zoel not by accident 😁
LINE OR PACE.
I’ve been trying to visualise bowling the ball towards the hole when I’m reading the green to try and help me judge what pace I need if that makes sense?! Seems to be helping me anyway...
My putting is terrible. I would love to get my hands on this book
Ya gotta have both the right pace for the line or the right line for the pace.
Pace for me , feel you an get it close with having good pace as if your line is good and have no good pace your going to be lucky to hole any putts
Pace for sure
Pace every time
Definitely Pace
Line or Pace.... Pace every time ...never up never in Ooops… I always practice pace before a round I have three paces I check all based around putter head taken back to inside, level with and outside my right foot... do this in both directions. My pace control is often terrible, leaving putts short is always frustrating.
Line or pace? If it is just the one answer then I would say pace but obviously line and pace are very important. If you have read the line but have too much pace the put will not react the same too little and it won't get there?
Line or pace.
Super simple again.
Line or pace...... It would appear Pace!!
Pace. You will always be close if you have the pace right
Line or Pace..
Great video Pete... I'm leaning toward Pace purely because a correct line but at the wrong pace can leave you with a long and tough Par/ two putt whereas a bad line or offline shot with good pace for the distance should leave you with a good lag or par opportunity imho?
Pete can you tell me what camera you are using and mics. I wanna purchase same to do a similar thing on the golf course, Cheers mate.
I putt left hand low, would you recommend i practice "one arm bandit" with left hand instead?
Pace is putting
Pace is most important. As outside 10ft. We are unlikely to one putt , a two putts is good.
Line or pace!
Hi Pete-
So I’m a righty that putts cross-handed (left hand low). For the 1-armed bandit drill, should I do that with my left hand instead?
Miss a putt five feet right. Bad putt... Miss it five feet long. Great try, so close! Your message shouts loud to me. NO question.
Pace, especially as a high handicap golfer, less 3 putts!
Its all about that Pace!;)
Some people, including me, can't putt right handed with a bad yup. Any thoughts to fix this?
