FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if TH-cam denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

For real man this movie is brilliant. My dad saw it in theaters and the day it dropped on DVD/VHS/TV my dad showed it to us kids (we were pretty young😂). Scared the shit out of us and scarred us for a long time. We grew up surrounded by forests and cornfields just like the family did. If the corn was up you didn’t want to go outside at night. If you did have to, you armed yourself and begged a sibling to come with you. Even to this day I get paranoid late at night outside when the corn is up. Granted I am a man and I usually pack heat with me 24/7😂

YOU MISSED THE POINT: This movie is about faith and how God works in mysterious ways and there were signs and miracles in their life. GOD gave his son asthma to save him from the aliens, GOD gave his daughter an obsessive compulsive disorder to have water around to save them from the aliens, GOD made Mel's brother have super hitting strength to kill the aliens, GOD killed his wife to give him the message as to how to proceed against the aliens so he would remember it. Mel HATED GOD for putting all these things in his life but God put them there to save him. Mel quit being a minister because of these awkward elements that he blamed God for putting in his life. At the end, Mel realized that none of these things were coincidences but were put there by God to save them. Realizing this, he became a priest again! YES, SOMEBODY DID SAVE THEM.

The Village is also a very good M. Night Shyamalan movie. At the time it came out, it was different, so some people weren't sure what to think. But it has been a lot more appreciated in recent years. Also stars Joaquin Phoenix.

    • @nathanfitzgerald6651

I really enjoyed The Village. It's a polarizing movie; some people loved it, some people hated it. I'm in the former because it has the most lush, authentic, interesting atmosphere and general feel of Shyamalan movies. Bryce Dallas Howard is a stronger actress than I expected. And it had a few very-well-shot rather jolting scenes in it. And the fancy James Newton Howard music goes without saying.

Yeah Signs scared me more than most of the typical horror movies, even tho technically is not even a horror movie. That's what makes it so good, it genuinely makes you feel terrified with it's atmosphere and the few jumpscares are justified and it pays off. The alien reveal on that kids Birthday party is ingrained into my brain for 20 years.
The only other alien movie that gave me absolute dread was "Incident at Lake County". It may not hold very well as effects go these days, but man when I watched it as a kid it terrified me, it was one of the 1st "found footage" films and there was no such genre back in 1998 and many people actually thought it was real, that's what made it so special. That's 1 year before the Blair Witch Project came out.

This is my favorite Shyamalan film (and honestly one of my favorite movies EVER)! I love the double meaning of the title (crop signs and signs/miracles). I find it very funny in a subtle, quirky way that I love. And as a Christian I appreciate the overall themes. My mom was working at out church when this came out and a bunch of the staff members went on a little field trip to see it and then left a tinfoil hat on the pastor's desk! 😂 My Christian college also played it on Halloween at the one-screen theater on campus. 😊 In addition to Unbreakable, you should definitely watch The Village!

8 of my closest friends and I sat down to watch Signs. And I tell you, it was terrifying.
Funny enough, what was planned for the party afterwards?? The 9pm corn maze in town that goes up every year for Halloween.

What most people seem to skim over is his wife's death. Deep down I thought "why not dreams, or visions instead of killing his wife" then it dawned on me. The hardest, most difficult things to forget are memories locked in by trauma. Things like the loss of a loved one, immense stress, and risk to your health and/or sanity, all stick with us no matter how hard we try to forget. To get him to remember the message no matter what, he needed a traumatic event to make sure it wouldn't fade. Nothing lasts longer than the loss of those you hold dear.

This movie had a serious psychological impact on me when I was a kid. Our dad showed it to my siblings and I when it came out on DVD/TV about a year after release. We grew up in a rural county in Illinois. The biggest town only had 3500people in it. And we lived way away from that. Surrounded by cornfields and thick forests similar to their house in this movie. Anyway after watching this movie there was no going out at night unless you really had to. And when you did you had to talk a sibling into going outside with you. At the time we threw pocket knives in our pockets just in case lol. To this day any time I walk outside at night instead of a pocket knife I am strapped, locked, and loaded lol. Didn’t help that my home county has the most UFO sightings per capita in the state and the surrounding states. Which is impressive considering how few people we have here. Nothing will ever likely happen but you had better be damned sure that I will be ready if or when it does 😂

My favorite Shyamalan movie. This isn't really an "alien" movie. To me, it's really a movie about a man who lost his faith and, through a series of amazing circumstances, regains it. The alien stuff was the vehicle to move him through his faith journey. I also love the way the backstory with his wife was interstitched and the payoff was perfectly timed. Just fantastic stuff. • @SamuelDJCox
    @SamuelDJCox ปีที่แล้ว

I think this film at its core is a simple drama, it simply just has a lot of scary thriller and horror elements mixed in so that it can be more than just a drama.
That’s why it doesn’t feel like it’s a normal horror film, because it’s sole purpose is not just to scare and shock you - more than anything it’s there to explore human themes and concepts - it just so happens that one of those themes is our human existential dread - our relationship with the unknown and how it can either make us or it can break us and lead us into terror and uncertainty. The concept of something greater and more powerful out there could be terrifying or it could be comforting, it all depends how you choose to think about and look at it.
One of my favourite films. It just so perfectly hits on so many elements from drama to horror so effectively, it’s not often in a film you’re feeling terrified but also about to break into tears because you are so scared for the characters and you’re so moved with how they’re confronting the scary scenario. When you care about the characters that much you’re not only terrified but you’re feeling their potential last moment’s sadness and it just breaks your heart.
Masterclass in film-making and storytelling and great reaction from you!

I'm sure it's been brought up, but when the Alien reveal itself at the kid's birthday party, the entire audience screamed and went crazy like the people in the video. And I don't think that that reveal has anything to do with technology, it deals only exclusively in storytelling! The storytelling is what shocked the audience. Shamalan's showmanship is what sold the scene! Showmanship is what modern movies are completely lacking, which is why many don't like the MCU or other modern superhero films.

I really like this one. Good acting all around, the kids were great, particularly during the emotional scenes like at the dinner table.
This movie is not really a horror movie, IMDB categorizes it as "Mystery" and "Sci-Fi", which it is. But out of all the horror movies that I've watched and were made this century, this is the one that actually scared me. It's the suspense, the tension that gets me.

Shyamalan loved all the old school "horror" movies and uses a lot of old school techniques when filming, like really long shots, panning, shooting action in the background (so there is something happening closer to the camera but the story is happening in the background), alternating focus, crowding characters together in a shot........and his composition is so beautiful.

I'm pretty sure this director also worked with another famous story writer who was in the insidious movies so he also directed them but the guy who wrote the stories was just genius. The director I think also did the saw movies too

Awesome reaction! Love this movie and script 👽 so cool to see you enjoy it and that it moved you. Shyamalan is a genius (he actually did a cameo in the movie: he's the guy that locked the alien and killed Mel Gibson's wife). And ur right his characters and their dynamics are awesome. Hope you get to react to the Unbreakable trilogy (it has samuel Jackson!) and his latest movie "Old".

Shyamalan is such a fascinating writer/director, because when his movies work, they REALLY work, and when they don’t, they REALLY don’t. He’s one of those ambitious storytellers who just goes full throttle and then sees if the finished product is awesome or a big mess.

I've never understood why Sixth Sense got so much love and attention and this film gets swept under the rug. Very good movie as well.

  • @jimmy2k4o
    @jimmy2k4o 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

This and Sixth sense to me are not horror.
They present themselves as horror but in the end they’re overwhelmingly positive and wholesome.
A boy discovers his curse isn’t a curse and uses it to help lost souls. (Adult chole could have been in glass.) he reconnects with his mother, becomes popular and help Malcolm overcome his regrets.
Here a man who lost his faith after a senseless accident took his wife fears he’ll lose the rest of his family to aliens.
Throughout the ordeal despite his efforts he doesn’t believe they’ll prevail. Then when the crisis has passed his fears are proven right and his son is about to die. He has an epiphany that God is real and laid an elaborate plan for the Hess family to survive.
He needed to protect Morgan from the gas, so gave him asthma. Needed to provide water to use so gave Bo a hydrophobia.
Needed Meryl to be in the house with his bat so helped him hit a record to make sure he kept the bat.
He needed grahams wife to die so Meryl would move in, and also so she could pass on the message to Graham that allowed him to make these connections.
Without her death they wouldn’t have survived the final act, What mother in the world wouldn’t agree to give up her life so her husband and kids would live.
I like to believe god gave her a choice before the accident.
Signs is about a very lost and hopeless man, regaining that faith and hope through a horrible ordeal. There something so beautiful in that.
And as if it matter I’m an atheist

Good flick. Great use of mood, setting, characters, tension, score. And it has the proper amount of comedy relief peppered in to balance things out for the audience. I can forgive its flaws and just enjoy it as an effective and classy "monster movie".

This is such an underrated movie. I think there were a lot of high expectations soon after Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, and I do think the finale is a little off with how the reveals pay off, but I still love it and think it’s excellent - the writing, the acting, the meticulous way he frames the camera and builds suspense, are so good. And you have Newton Howard’s epic score. I know he looses favor as he goes on in his filmography but there has always been at least one sequence, or , theme or character in M S’s movies that are pure film making brilliance, and have surprised me, or moved me, or taken my breath away (Unbreakable is a masterpiece ( you should watch), but something like The Village which has some iffy stuff, has whole chunks of just excellent filmmaking).

Part of the reason a lot of people are fascinated with crop circles (other than the hoaxes which are done with wood boards), a lot of the real crop circles are so meticulously created that the corn stalks themselves are actually not broken at all, just very carefully bent. There's so much history with these things, they're not all hoaxes. Just a bunch of the first media-covered ones were hoaxes. But the real ones are scientifically baffling.
