As a new player, I looked at most of these as options for my first paddle. I ended up getting the Vulcan 540 Hybrid even thought there aren’t any real reviews on TH-cam. I’ve been very happy with my paddle. Friday would have been my next choice.
Awesome video with good recommendations. I recently bought the Volair Mach 2 paddle from this list and am absolutely loving it so far. Tons of spin and great control.
I saw on the Friday site that they have flat top models as well as the rounded top models. Can you described the difference/benefit of one shape over the other?
I'm enjoying your reviews. I'm playing a Ronbus R3 Pulsar right now, but I really like the look of the Friday paddles. Another way to make Pickleball even more fun.
Definitely worth considering! I'll have a couple of Spartus paddles in this week, and I've been playing with the Hudef Mage pro, too, which seems to be a good paddle with a great price, too.
The Spartus Centurion and Ballista are great paddles, with the Ballista having a low SW around 110. The Hudef Mage plays well; for those who like the Onix Z5, I recommend the Hudef Apex. Just played with the Neonic Wave today and liked it. As you know, too many paddles to choose from.@@PickleballMedicine
Watch John Kew’s videos. Carbon fiber is not woven. It is generally three sheets of CF each with the strands going in one direction only. These are usually layered 90° to each other with a resin added to bond them together. A woven peel ply sheet is put between the top CF sheet and the mold. The weave from that sheet pressed into the resin is the weave you see on the paddle. If you separate that top sheet from the others it will peel apart in straight strings of carbon fiber.
Man, I love this! Thank you for that.. I'll be the first to admit I don't know everything about manufacturing processes, haha. I found the video, and it was a great learning experience for me! Very cool. For anyone interested, I believe this is the video he is referencing: th-cam.com/video/6OO0UoHGiFI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FGoRjUNaxrrgefet

I happend to have the two exact same designs you got for the Friday paddles. Looks like we have the same taste! 😂
Haha that's a great sign!! 😅 great minds think alike!!

That is super great to hear... thank you for the feedback, sincerely!! It definitely makes it more worth the work to hear that it's making an impact.
oo i got the aiso centric recently & really like how it feels
I love that paddle... I could easily reason myself into moving it further up on the list, and for many people it could be a #1 reccomendation from me.

Thank you, I'm glad you find them helpful!! And I agree, I love when the look and design is outside the normal.
the friday paddles are cool you can get two for 90 dollars, they are thermoformed and have a carbon surface
Agreed... if there is any other deal for cost per-thermoformed paddles at a lower price point... im all ears!
Curious what the difference is between the Friday Challenger paddle that runs $89 or 2 for $159?
I would add the Spartus Centurion, Hudef Apex and Hisk Rav Pro. All under $100

Tell os is the correct pronunciation.
Haha I'm probably as bad at pronouncing names as I am at spelling them... 😅
