Check out Northern Auto Parts. I'm rebuilding my 6.5l diesel. You can get pistons in std and . 020& .030 pistons. The kit is a great kit. High quality parts, Mahle pistons, Felpro gaskets, Melling oil pump.

Interested to hear it run with that much play in the retainers. Wont that cause excessive valve train noise?

I am curious too, i guess we will find out. To be fair the plastic ones had a fair amount of play as well
