Really enjoy every one of your videos Matt. I kept border and fife canaries for over 20 years, but sadly gave up about 25 years ago. Mainly due to family members with cancer then bereavements. But now I’m thinking about starting again, I blame yourself for that after watching all your great videos. So it means starting again from scratch, new bird room will come first. And as I’m a joiner I will build all my own cages etc. the hard bit I think will be aquiring some Fife canaries, I am a big lover of the whites, blues and fawns. But thank you again for the inspiration you have given me
My favourite channel on TH-cam.. I watch alot on my TV not much on my phone so had to come on and comment and just say another brilliant episode. I'm hooked lol. I can't wait for more. 👍
well done .ive just got back into the hobby at 66.mid 1980s i bred borders now this will be my first season with fifes.i just lost one cock bird i bought 5 pairs.all the best stay safe.
Another helpful video Matt!! I have followed ur success for the last 2 seasons & loved every moment! Finally got my own bird to the end of last year so this will be the first breeding season for me 🤞🏼🤞🏼 With the fantastic videos you & Oliver (OC aviary) put together it will help me massively with the does & don’ts!! Keep them coming & good look! 👍🏼
I have only ever owned a single pair of canaries, and they never did anything for me. I am keen to try again. Hopefully, I will learn from your videos an have more success.
Thank you very much I always learn and learn from you and I really enjoyed when I'm watching your video. and thanks for put subtitle for the people like me not perfect understating an English thanks again
Interesting to hear your thought process in selecting and how you make your plans, both for this year and for in the future! Looking at the number of cinnamon birds you are keeping, you have decided to include the whites in the cinnamon and dark pairings....... sounds like a good plan. Love the new format and all the new features!
Hello. ☺️ I have 2 variegated canaries- 1 male/1 female - I don't want them to breed. Must I separate them during breeding season or, can I leave them together in the cage if I don't put a nest in? Thanks for the videos. 👍🏻
Hi there what about 70% alchohol hand sanitizer as a contact spray for mite. There is sure enough to go round, thats for sure! What about diatomaceous earth in the nest pans? Would that do mites in? Could you investigate these two items and insert your findings in one of your episodes? That would be great.z
Hi Ian, I use diatomaceous earth in the nest pans, I’d be concerned about using what is in effective hand sanitizer on the birds for fear of the alcohol being absorbed through the skin. Plenty of mite treatments on the market

Thx again for the show.... Do I see some spare room for Mr. Rands Gloster fancy's.... Hahaha
Maybe one day 😉
Good videos
Great video! How cold does it get for your birds during the winter?
Not too bad, water rarely freezes
Hi Matt I think it's a bit cold for Norwich there.
They’ll be fine, plenty of feather to keep them warm
Hi Matt I’ve been learning a lot from your videos I’m looking to start up with canaries what would you suggest please
Hi Matt, you mentioned of the Winter taking its toll on some of the birds, do u heating in the bird room?.
It’s insulated and fully lined but I don’t offer any additional heat
What’s the best thing to do in winter I have mine outside in a shed but what can I put in there so they don’t freeze thanks jack 🕊
Fantastik agats
Thanks 🙏
Weldone another cracking episode are you going to do anything on lizards
I’m hoping too, I’ve a number of bird room visits scheduled for this year just as soon as they’re possible to do

The birds you are breeding, color, etc., are they good singers?
They have a nice song but the Norwich and Fifes are type canaries songs bred for shape
Hi, I'm looking for cages like what you have. Could you kindly send me the link for where I could order some. Best of luck, you have cracking birds
If you look for David Rands on Facebook he’s the gent who made them
What do you put in the bottom of the cage!!!!
It’s called Tierwhol or chipsi (same thing had different names depending on where you get it)
Are there shows for best in song?
Yes, roller canaries and waterslagga are bred for song
Hi I have a weird question . Is male canary kiss each other or feed each other or it’s male and female I hope I get a respond thank u .
Two male birds will beak each other yes

Dave Rands is the guy to contact, you’ll find him on Facebook

Yep, but Dave delivers across Europe
hello i'm from indonesia. I really like canaries. do you sell canaries. how much does a canary cost? and can you send it to Indonesia.,?
Hi, I’m not sure they would travel that well to be honest
