Stick to normal AXS Eagle X01 or XX1 if you want fast shifting, this Sram system only changes gear when cassette is in the correct position, this can make gear changes laggy as hell, i used the new XX for 3 days before taking it off again.
I have to agree! I will definitely be making a video to explain this difference between the old and new drivetrains. It is annoying how you can't quickly go up gears for a descent after finishing a climb in a low gear. If you press the controller a couple of times, it will keep shifting even if you done clicking. It is super smooth and all but it looks like SRAM is dictating when you want to shift. Maybe a firmware update with help.

Such a nice build! I don't think ill ever understand the want for an orange fox fork but to each his own. Cheers on the build I'm sure it will ride like a dream!
@@Orphansmash that really is a big question and we will find out in a few weeks when the snow melts in the mountains. Stay tuned for more videos like a detailed walkaround, a first ride impression from an XC racer's perspective and more!
Hey there! Thanks for putting this together. I just built the same bike today and have a quick question about the spacers you used with the DUB bottom bracket. Did you use the 4.5 on the drive side? It looks like you used a 7.5 on the drive side and a 3 on the non-drive side. Do you remember? The top the gears are having trouble and I’m assuming it’s due to a spacer error on my part. Thanks for the help and love your videos!
Hi Kris, sorry for the late reply as TH-cam does not notify me of new messages. On this 73mm shell frame and the new Transmission drivetrain, the drive side spacer is 7.5mm and non-drive side spacer is 3mm. This gets your the recommended 55mm chainline.
The new Forekaster is pretty burly at 950g and the Rekon EXO+ should also be good for most trails for this travel category. For high speed DH runs I would take my Enduro bike with Assegai and DHR2 double down.
It depends on the terrain. 78 works great around here in the mountains where we have really long climbs and equally long descents. It is so much more comfortable climbing the sustained steep climbs compared to my outgoing Epic Evo.

@@sprungmass I hope an update might help but not hopeful it can make a big improvement, i hope Sram can prove me wrong.
This is making sitting at home enduring covid really quite enjoyable. Thank you. Sweeeeet build.
Thanks Richard, wishing you a fast recovery from COVID!

Thanks! I am over the orange fork already. This was left over from another build so I reused it but I just ordered a shiny black one to replace it.
Foreskin pink is the new black
@@sprungmass ahh makes perfect sense then mate. Def think the black will be sick! cheers!
Nice I was thinking of this color would look sick with the orange fork
It is not bad. I think for next season I might change it up and swap to shiny black lowers. It would go really well with the high gloss XX cranks.
@@sprungmass the big question is how does it ride?

Vc deve estar muito feliz... A bike é lindas demais
obrigado. estou ansioso para montá-lo nesta temporada
dope af handle bar
Definitely one of my favourite components on this build. Looks stunning in sunlight.
Price of the bike?
fantastic
Thanks for watching Clifford
odd question, what grease is that and link to buy it?
It is "Finish Line Premium Grease with Teflon" I have been using it for years and it works great. Most bike shops should carry it.
Superb build!!! Where did You get the chrome decals for the fork?! From FOX directly or online?!
Thanks Roman. I got the decals custom made from Slikgraphics. These ones are metallic silver and metallic copper in glossy print.
@@sprungmass thx, will shoot them a request. what was the total?! 100?!
@@romandenkovych8760 it was a very reasonable $45 CAD even with this premium metallic print
@@sprungmass xpress or usually delivery?!
@@sprungmass definitely will be on order on monday!!! appreciate the help

amazing build, but those tires look really light duty for the bike. you gonna be throwing heavier tires on in the future?

what size?
Large
👏👏👏🇹🇷
Yup I'm watching yet again another of the things that I can't buy.
atrocious seat angle. but nice build

@Sprungmass no, I mean the angle of the saddle, not the seat tube. It's personal preference, I know, but anything other than level seems super uncomfy
@@eliroberts9362 ah! Gotcha. Yeah I leveled it after the video haha
