I got the Bose 700 in that beautiful pink soapstone and they are exceptional. Half the time that I wear them I’m not even listening to music, I’m listening to the silence the noise canceling provides. Their ability to block out the noisy world has done wonders to help with my ADHD, when I have to work in a noisy office and need to focus. Also when you have the noise canceling on full on an airplane and then you take them off, it’s alarming how loud airplanes really are.

Great reviews and overall great content - as always but… what happened to your own sound in this video? Did you change your microphones?? Maybe most people listening on their phones/laptops won’t notice much difference but to the rest of us listening on room speakers this episode sounds so weird! It’s kinda funny because you guys pay so much attention to the way things sound :)

Technics!!!!!!! These are reviewed as superior to the Sonys overall by a fair amount. Used Sony XM3s seem the best for the price. Bose 700 don't seem durable, click when walking, the app didn't work for a long time for many people, and people report more cabin pressure from all the Bose than Sony. JBL 660NC seem to be the best value new and used. I ordered the JBL and Sony to test and will return one of them. But none of these will sound as good as non noise cancelling open back headphones or closed back from Audio-Technica. But noise cancelling is better if someone can only have one pair because they protect people from raising the volume and losing their hearing. But I would tell people to save for the Technics. And until they can afford them buy open box JBL or Sony XM3s on ebay.

  • @robertsine8812

To me “noise canceling” can be integrated into the construct of the device. And be left at that. I want my finances put into the “drivers”. And performance.

Can’t agree with you regarding your negativity around Bose QC45’s…ANC, Bluetooth connectivity and (for me at least) sound are definitely superior to QC 35 II’s (which are already great cans). I also had Bose 700’s, sent back due to discomfort and click of metal headband arm on cups as I walked (well documented). 700’s sound was great but for me, no better than QC 35 II’s. Plenty of well qualified Audiophiles review sound of QC45’s superior to 700’s…just demonstrates sound is a totally subjective variable to each individual. Nice review anyways….

The thing for me is I can't justify 200+ or more for headphones no matter how good the sound is. I tried to go high end once and just like virtually every other headphones I've owned they broke within a year. Headphones just don't last up long enough to make an investment like that worthwhile. Maybe I've been EXTREMELY unlucky (wouldn't be the first time) but with the exception of one or two that's always been my experience. I use them more then your average person but I'm not rough with headphones like throwing them around or whatever. Unless you count laying on your side in bed.
If I didn't have ear canal problems I'd probably go in ear exclusively but for comfort reasons I have to do headphones.

I bought some Wired over the ear Panasonic Technics for around 400 when I was 16 somewhere around 2004 or so. They lasted me 14 years. My next pair were Bose QC35ii’s. For about the same price except Bluetooth, which I might add is a great feature when you’re 6’8”. They only lasted me 4 years till the foam in the headphones 🎧 deteriorated.

I have most of these headphones and the bose 700 are the worst. Theyare rubbish on android. No detail, compared to shure ionic 50 the bose sound like a £20 pair. They are muffled, boomy and low quality should. Yes, exciting, but completely artificial sounding via aac with android. You guys obviously have terrible ears. Maybe ty some good quality wired headphones before you try to judge wireless.
I agree with some of your comments but in terms of bose 700, you are simply insane.

I think you said the Bose 700 headphones were the best. You said the Bose qc45 were worse than the qc35 ii? Really? That means the Bose qc35iis are bad headphones! If you think the qc35iis are bad, then you are incompetent! I can understand you saying they are not as good as the 700s, it sounds like you think they are bad. I own the qc35iis. I love them! I love the Sony M4s better, but the Bose qc35ii headphones are very good headphones.
The other problem with the video is you spent too much time on the really bad headphones. I don’t think you need to spend over 2 minutes explaining why we should not by terrible headphones.

Something's off. -- if you're going to make a video about recommending audio devices and comments where you judge what is 'terrible' audio or not. I"m probably in the minority to notice or to comment, but it's October now so this 2022 video is about to be ancient news anyway come Jan 1 2023, so I'm sure a lot of people will not notice.. so maybe some advice to help you for your 2023 future videos.

I've got the Bose nc700 (and others) and really enjoy them. Also great for things like audiobooks as well as for calls and for noise cancelling and transparency mode (I tend to use them when cooking as well, so I can hear things cooking as well as what I'm listening to. The buttons controls (and app) are great. One press and they turn on.

I think I find the AirPods max to have great sound quality, over priced yes, and bit heavy, but the build is great. 400$ would have been the price for those, I got on sale. Sony xm4s feel comfortable but not sure it’s actually better sounding than Apple but of course you can customize so more ppl can get the sounds their ears like. Never been a Bose fan, they just don’t do it for me. Heavy headphones are what was used too.

Panasonic RB-M700B (100€) vs Sony WH-1000XM4 (265€) : Maybe you think a 100€ headphone can not be better or as good than a 260€ headphone. But if bass is important and NC is not important you are wrong! Here is why : I own 2x Panasonic RB-M700B headphones since February 2021 because it's a great headphone and want to be be secured with 2 exemplares. I hope Panasonic don't stop producing them!!!! BECAUSE I just got and testet the expensive Sony WH-1000XM4 (because many people say it's the best headphones on market) and because Panasonic RB-M700BE have not good NC, and Bass reactor is deactivated in the NC mode. I have a problem with noise at the moment. BUT!!!!!! the bass sound on the expensive Sony is much much much worse compared to the Panasonic even with highest bass parameters in the EQ in the sony android app and android EQ. I can not believe that Sony is so expensive and have no heavy bass on it. I Iike heavy bass in my electronic music i listen which the Sony really does not have! It's day and night compared to the Panasonic ! I will send the Sony back to the seller. Ok the Sony really have extrem good NC. But what advantage I have with extrem good NC if i can not hear sounds with good bass ? So i gonna buy 1-2 more of these Panasonic headphones to be sure I have heavy bass headphones for the next 15 years. But it is unknown if Panasonic will further develop and produce them in future... And I hope Panasonic don't stop that... But I know that Sony is also capable of producing Bass headphones because before the Panasonic I had the Sony MDR-XB950N1 which also had a hardware bass boost activator and with vibrating bass on the ears, like you really have a subwoofer... I'm not sure but Panasonic did a great job because i think bass is better than on these old Sony XB950N Bass headphones which i do not own anymore because they are broken, the reason I switched the brand... But in all of this you have to consider it is a thing of individual taste. Strong bass frequencies are very important for me because I like music with strong bass. Some other people don't like heavy bass...

As with every review of headphones/earbuds I‘ve ever seen, I don‘t know how to transfer your findings to my experience. I listen more or less exclusively to classical music - opera, symphonic, occasionally chamber music. My instincts tell me the demands on the headphones will be different. One big point: Everyone talks about „the bass“ in headphones/earphones. That indicates to me that everyone is testing the headphones with „pop“ music (I don‘t like the term, either, but it is useful here, I think). I suppose I could try to find some reviews for classical music; surely they exist.

    • @MikeWal2
      @MikeWal2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I wouldn't consider using Bluetooth headphones for classical music (same mix as you but the order being Symphony; Concerto; opera; chamber music) so while I have unnecessarily many good Bluetooth noise-reduction headphones for other use, for classical I use an old Sennheiser HD 600 connected by cable to a headphone amp connected to a good CD player (which I also use for jazz and for any "pop music" (of various kinds) that I really want to concentrate on listening to). The Bluetooth headphones connect well to the TV and to a standalone network storage device that has (non-WAV) copies of my "pop" (etc.) CDs in the format used by iTunes and is used when I don't want to sit and concentrate on the music.

Not sure this subjective style of review works when you compare sound, comfort or even ANC. Especially you tell people which ones are the best. (for you maybe?)
Lost me at 700 ANC having better than the Airpod Max. In which environment did you test? In which frequency range? I have both among others and the Bose 700 ANC isn't doing great on real flight.

After having Bose QC35's for a couple of years they stopped being able to be recharged. Took then to the Bose Service Centre and was informed that they could not be repaired but they would offer me a replacement at 20% discount. Decided to change to Sony WH-1000XM4. This replacement lasted 17 days before the recharging failed! Now awaiting a reply from the Sony Service Centre but very disappointed.

I bought the Bose 700s and after a few months, one of the speakers blew out and always rattled. Called Bose and they wouldn't replace but would give me a discount on another pair. No thanks. Never buying Bose again. My Bowers and Wilkins PX were better, not as comfortable as the Bose but sound and build quality were far superior. I think I'm going to go with the Sony XM4's this time and give them a shot.

Guys I love your video, but I am going insane trying to choose a pair of headphones 🎧 I am really bad with technology and this is being overwhelming to me.
I really would like your recommendations based on my requirements. I want wireless, noise cancellation, good bass sound, but more importantly comfort cause I am gonna use them for long period of times. I am 5’2 and my ears are not too big.!
Also, all my devices are apple. I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ if that matters.?
    My pics :
    Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling
    Sony WH-1000XM4
    Apple - AirPods Max
    Bose Noisecancelling 700
Any help.? I don’t want to end up with ear pain or head pain, so comfort is very important to me.!
I have sensory issues and that’s the the reason I looking for this type of headphones cause I can’t insert anything in my ear 👂😬
Thanks for the video and I would highly appreciate your feedback on this situation.
P.S. I apologize for the length of my message 🫣
