  • Alright, I’ll admit it, I’m hooked on Gopeds.
They’re cheaper when you buy them used
    They’re faster
    They’re more annoying
    They’re super well made
    What else do you need??

My Go-Ped went just over 50MPH.. Super X-PED but I had a 49cc engine, HP carb, Velocity stack, K&N, Stroker Crank, HP Forged piston Oversized Cool Head/Cylinder, MSD ignition/coil pack, aftermarket Flywheel, Exhaust, Air scoop/Pull start block off, 3RD bearing support, bigger Long drive spindle, Billet aluminum deck, Oversized fuel tank, Billet aluminum wheels, Billet Aluminum throttle lever, racing bars with billet bar clamp & MX bars, upgraded Brake lever & front calipers. The thing screamed. The Super X-PED had a lot beefier built frame for Jumping, stair sets, banks/gaps, you could grind ledges & rails. Also had a Grind/Skid deck underneath. I raced GO-PEDs growing up. There was a local dealer/race shop, GO-PED Nationals circuit would hold races & events annually. Many of my friends in the neighborhood had GO-PEDs as well so we rode them everywhere which was great especially as a young teen 11-14/15 when you aren’t old enough to drive yet. We’d ride just to ride & race around in the industrial parks behind our sub division. Ride to the lakes nearby to go fishing, the store, school, the mall, friends houses, to go skate just have your skate back pack & your board, or just adventure or explore around town. My favorite thing was having wheelie contest with friends when riding around just see who could do the longest for blocks. Honestly those were some of the best years growing up! I’ll always have a soft spot for the GO-PEDs

I'll use it to drive to my job next week because most of my workmates ride electric bicycles or scooters🥱...

No range degradation between refuelings is the best and also most eScooters use a planned obsolescence proprietary battery pack that no one makes and is hard to get out and replace. The low fuel density of batteries is bad and the decent performing ones are always overpriced and won’t work after a few years, basically a rich kid throwaway toy.

I have one very similar but it has a bicycle gear change with a cable connect to the motor to allow disengagement on the drive spindle. Then when your ready to go just drop the motor on the wheel and your off.

Escooters that would be comparable would probably run a few thousand but that gets you a steering damper, comfy suspension, turn signals, headlights, tail lights, hydraulic dual disk brakes, over 50mph, instant torque and adjustable settings to tune it for different riders, fine control over throttle, a variety of security features, and you don't have to pay for gas you just plug it in when you go to bed. I think gopeds are cool but they're never going to be as safe or convenient as escooters. I think a goped shines as being a cheap vehicle to have fun on but you wouldn't be able to commute to and from work on it reliably and without police attention or angry drivers/pedestrians.

I just found this video from you. Looks to be about four years old.. does your opinion still stand on both the performance and price difference ofa go-ped versus a Escooter?
on my channel, you can see the goofy thing that I built, which is a gas bicycle, which is absolutely beautiful reaching me anywhere between 18 and 23 mph consistently and I get give or take 50 to 60 miles off of it !
I’ve been thinking of trying to build a gas powered scooter, but it looks like I need a whole new scooter and can’t just use the cheap kids scooter that I currently own😂.
As much as I love peddling and dealing with my bike, it currently doesn’t work because of a rear wheel axle issue .
I’ve been thinking of getting a scooter like this that is purely throttle only and no obvious way to push it like a normal scooter as I know of . Is the price to performance worth it?
Although I could look up this last question, I thought I’d ask you since you clearly have one at least in this video .
I see that it uses friction drive instead of via a chain . Do they still work that way to this day? I’ve never used friction Drive before but then again my first ever engine on a bicycle was recent and it’s the only time I’ve ever worked with a 49 cc engine or any engine before

    • @kylesjunkandprojects216
      @kylesjunkandprojects216  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The performance of E scooters has greatly improved in the past few years. I still rip my gopeds around and prefer them because I enjoy small engine repair and they are MUCH cheaper.
I weigh 200 lbs and the gopeds work great, I can even jump over stuff with them and I haven’t broken one yet.
Friction drive works very well, they do not like wet pavement, they will stop moving, there are spindles that fix that issue though.
I would look for a goped Bigfoot on marketplace, that one is a million times more comfortable than the goped sport.

Most them barley get 20 mile range than gotta charge for like 6-12 hours. 7nless you wanna spend $1,200-$1,500 or more for a decent 1. Some them things be going for like 4k! Gas is good for people like to tinker with shit, they way cheaper but alot places can't ride them in parks or bike paths ect. I actually just made this decision and went with gas for doing food delivery. Main reason was price and no range anxiety. The e scoot community and ride outs are huge tho. Gas scoots kinda dying out. I think in a few years electric will up it's game and pretty much take over tho
