Bobby Hatfield can just make a whole place seem like there’s a giant band and an unbelievable performance that he puts on. There is no voice like his in the world
These two are like fine wine; age becomes them. Love their light hearted approach and of course their voices. I could listen to Bobby sing for want of TP his voice is that enchanting. RIP Bobby Hatfield you are missed more than you know.
I had the privilege to meet Bobby, Bill snd Barry when they were playing at the MGM and later in Dallas and Cincinnati. They were good folks. Great memories ☺️
They were incredible together! And Bobby was truly someone special, that voice and that smile was definitely one of a kind and my heart breaks that he is no longer here😔
Amen to all of your comments!! 😢Tares me up that he's gone and I just found him and Bill 5 months ago. And I 'm old enough to have known of Bobby in the 60's and 70's!
Love the reaction videos of kids in their teens and twenties watching these great talents . Priceless! They just can’t believe that their voices aren’t manipulated in some way. They had unbelievable raw talent!❤️
They were out of The Hop when I returned to So Cal/Lakewood/Long Beach in '98. The Hop stayed around for awhile but the name has long since changed names. I loved how as soon as they sang, they were in sync.
These guys are just awesome. I grew up listening to The Righteous Brothers and I still listen to them now. May you RIP Bobby Hatfield. You had the best voice ever!!! Love Bill Medley's deep voice.
The guitarist Barry Rillera's brother Butch Rillera was in the band "Redbone" who had a hit in the 70's with " Come and Get Your Love." Barry Rillera and Bill Medley were furniture movers in the early days. Barry was also friends with Bobby Hatfield at Long Beach State University where both attended. Bobby asked Barry to perform at a fraternity party, and to bring his freind Bill. That was the first night that Bobby and Bill performed together. And the rest is music history.
In LA on business maybe 1986...staying in Newport Beach area. Someone at the hotel recommended The Hop. Found my way there and had a blast. Although not performing, Bobby and Bill were there. They were alone at a table, if memory serves, drinking coffee. Although they had ups and downs they certainly seemed happy in this great video. Thanks for posting!
Ritcheous Brothers were fantastic together the meld of two such different sounding voices was perfect. One of a kind duo. Love to listen to recordings and when Bill continues to sing with his new partner. RIP Bobby. His Unchained Melody will never be duplicated. ❤😍❤😘❤🤩❤❣
They are soo cool n sexy. Not to mention their talent. Voices are hot n smooth. Bills voice has heart n soul. Love it. Bobby's voice nice. I'm still in luv with them
Wow!...great video, what memories of late 80's early 90's, the shows I saw at the Club Casino each year were loose, they had a lot of fun as well as the audience, I remember some extra encores because the crowd woudn't leave until they came back...good times....Thank you!
If that is "The Hop" their nightclub on Brookhurst in Costa Mesa area of Orange County, I used to go there a lot from 1986 to 1988. Nice nightclub. They played great oldies and had a big movie screen behind the dance floor to play videos to the songs. Lots of fun great looking girls who loved to dance. It was my favorite place for a while. Last time I drove past there it looked like the building is now a Chinese Restaurant.
I wonder what Top This was there was a hop in Long Beach on Clark Street I used to go there all the time in the '80s but it was there way before the '80s they had a lot of the greats there I have their autographs and pictures. I'm89 years old now so I've been around a long time through the 50s and 60s and seventies watching Always guys singing some in person some not but not the Righteous Brothers. I wish I had seen them but I'm enjoying them now anyway.🤩🤩
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 outstanding all around! Band and backups are terrific. Barry Rillera is 🔥🔥🔥 as usual. And what can I say about The Boys. On point and at the top of their game. Not only great singers but exciting entertainers. Suspect they had had a couple of wobbly pops with the customers before the show. 😆 Loved Bill's rock leaps. Wow! Surprised even Bobby I think! Never seen them so relaxed. Wish I could have been there. Thanks so much. I have a couple more from The Hop. Hope there are some more out there. 💪🤘👍👏❤
Bill's voice sounds closer to his voice on the recordings and earlier performances. While I would say Bobby had an amazing voice earlier in his career, you can hear it is not the same. They sounded good though. Rest Easy Bobby and best wishes to Bill!
Bobby was trying to keep a drunk off duty bartender from driving home and the guy got mad. When Bobby and his wife left the hop, the guy tries to take Bobby's keys. When Bobby turned his back, the Bartender did like a wrestling move and Bobby's face hit the pavement. It broke bones in his face, teeth his pallette, I think his nose, esophagus damage and nerve damage. I read thatbit said he had some numbness in his face and had lost taste and smell. I think the later was only temporary. I think that contributed to his voice.
I believe Bill M. owned "The Hop", ended up marrying the female manager he hired (Paula) w/ whom he shared 30 happy years before her Earthly departure. I met him once; GREAT GUY!!
@@kalinhatfield3969 I'm sorry about the loss of your Mom. I've been praying for your family. I too have lost both parents. I've also lost my husband. I'm thankful to your Dad. A few of his songs really help me when I'm down. His passion, dancing and even his playfulness on stage make me smile, laugh and then have joy. Thank you Kalin, Bobby Jr., Vallyn and Dustin. I will always be truly thankful to and for your Dad.
This is outstanding... thanks for adding. Do you have any other Bill Medley, Bobby Hatfield or Righteous Brother footage from the Hop you could upload?
I've got a few, but all on old analog Hi8 Video tape. Finding the right clips, then digitizing them is a bit of a process. Stay tuned. I expect more will pop up.
95 % percent blockage. The miniscule amount found in his body is suspect. Especially when his family, friends and Bill never saw him take anything(or act under the influence). Nothing was found in his room. Just weird.
Bobby Hatfield can just make a whole place seem like there’s a giant band and an unbelievable performance that he puts on. There is no voice like his in the world
They were and are phenomenal. They engage fans from all ages. Love watching young people today listening in awe to the Righteous Brothers.
So thankful for these wonderful videos of the guys> Especially precious, since both Bobby and Barry are gone! Bobby was just all around wonderful!!!

These guys had the looks, talent.Together blended they were magic.
I would give anything to have Bobby still here but God had better plans for him rest in peace Bobby we love you and miss you
Amazing human being.
In addition to their great sounds, I can’t help watching Bobby move his hips. He could have been a fantastic dancer, too.
He was!
A vocal match made in musical heaven🎶🎤🎵

Barry Rillera was one fabulous guitarist.
I remember "The Hop" in Fountain Valley! That was a GREAT place to go.

Just makes you smile while watching it!!!
The very best of Blue Eyed Soul! The Righteous Brothers!!
They CREATED Blue Eyed Soul!
They WERE "Blue Eyed Soul"! They invented it and it was named after them.
In LA on business maybe 1986...staying in Newport Beach area.

I've been to The Hop, the Whisky A Go Go too. There was no better time to grow up than in the 60's when it comes to music.
So very much missed, the Righteous Brothers live in their music !

Fountain Valley, actually.
Love their voice and sense of humour 😂
Damn, Bill Medley could go low when he wanted to, and then he would come out with that gravelly sound too, that he developed so well.
Bill's speaking voice was just as phenomenal as his speaking voice.

Bobby was a smoker. And this is after his accident, I think.

The HOP was owned by Both of Them
My Dad sold his half of The Hop then Bill turned it into Medley's which lasted for a while.
