Tanya: 13 years of service with the RCMP
Dean: I have 25 years service
Jamie: I have 18 years service
Amber: 25 years service
Dat: and I have one-month service with the RCMP.
Text: Why join?
Amber: I joined the RCMP because I thought it’d be a great career choice. I grew up with my father being a member for most of the time that I can remember being a child.
Tanya: I’ve always had an interest in policing.
Dean: I had many cousins before me that joined the RCMP and they were like heroes to me.
Amber: And I always thought wow, I love the people that he worked with, I loved what he came home and he would tell the stories and all the places that I could go and see.
Dean: the main thing for me was to help. I wanted to help.
Dat: I wanted to help people and help my community out.
Jamie: I knew as a teenager that I wanted to join the RCMP and be a police officer and be able to help people.
Tanya: I joined the RCMP as I was looking for a career that would be unique, it would be challenging, and rewarding.
Dat: Becoming an RCMP is what I wanted to be ever since…and here I am.
