    I get my black R/T Durango tomorrow with the red interior. I also have an 18 Trackhawk. I needed something with more room and better gas mileage.

    WOW. I am in my 3rd Durango. I got the 2019 RT in October 2019 the same color with the red interior LOVE IT. Had 2014 limited and traded it in. I think the ride on the limited was softer but the power on the RT is crazy. It would have been nice to have power seats in the back(3rd row) I got the bench seats fo, my extended family. I have no issues with my alpine system. If you get one you will not be disappointed.

    I’ve been researching Dodge Durango’s for about 8 months and this is one of the best reviews on TH-cam. A real owner not trying to be a character giving real world info and opinions. Much appreciated. Keep it up. Subscribed.

    Nice video! I'm from Scotland and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the biggest we get here from Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge. I was recently visiting Toronto on holiday, and ended up getting one of these as a free upgrade on my rental car (I was meant to be getting a Hyundai Elantra - Score!!!). It was a 2019 5.7L V8 R/T, in black, with around 1200km on the clock (so around 800miles-ish). So not only did I get one hell of a free upgrade, but I also lost my V8 virginity. I absolutely loved driving it! I would agree too, they are fantastically comfortable and quiet cruising on the highway, and it probably had the best sat nav/infotainment system I've ever come across. Fuel economy... LOL I got the equivalent of 23 mpg, which was actually better than I thought I'd get, although it is a third of what I get in my gen4 Prius (I know 'Prius' is probably a bad word in this respect). I was genuinely surprised also at how well made it felt, and that it came with an 8 speed auto. The electric gate was about the only annoying thing (it's too slow), but that's hardly a show stopper. Definitely falls into my list of most fun/exciting cars I've driven...and definitely the biggest.

    Just saw the red seats in person today when I went to test drive one at the dealer. I’ll be ordering a destroyer grey AWD with that red leather, except I’m gonna go with the 2nd row bench as it creates more passenger space + saves a couple grand or however much those cap’s chairs cost.

    I think i am sold on this, when it's time to upgrade my 2014 Explorer. I wish American manufacturers would be more competitive with their warranties, though. How is long term reliability with these vehicles?

    • @chadhanson4369
      @chadhanson4369 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      CammedFox Before the 2011 redesign I would not recommend them. But dodger got new management into thousand eight and recruited ex Mercedes Benz engineers for the 2011 and 2015 redesign as well as doing almost everything about the Durango except the appearance.
      Dodge charger has the highest customer satisfaction for large sedans, which shares most qualities with the Durango. I have not seen an issue in mine in 122,000 miles other than basic maintenance like spark plugs, belt, battery, and the key fob needing new batteries every year or two.
      The hemi isn’t award-winning engine and the V6 pen star is on the top 10 most awarded engine ever list. In fact that engine is put in jeeps which go through all kinds of abuse that no other car manufacturer has built their vehicles to handle.

    • @chadhanson4369
      @chadhanson4369 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      CammedFox When you look up reviews and things you have to keep in mind the Durango is a very tough looking and sounding SUV So the people who want a fast SUV typically abuse their vehicles a lot more than someone buying a Honda or Kia. I can even race most sports cars on the street with mine and barely ever lose any ground sometimes even beating those sports cars as I rev up near those little Subarus and typically pass them.
      The transmission is one of the best on the market as well. The fact that you can do a burn out in a
      Rwd third row SUV Attracts a lot of people who beat the heck out of these and they still last a long time. I’ve seen them with 180,000 miles less than eight years old sell for $9700

    Nice. I just got the same exact R/T in black with the red leather last week. It’s also my second R/T. My first one was a 2012. I agree 100% with everything you say about this being best in class for what you get for the money. My only gripe is the price of this one is about $10k more than my 2012 was with comparable equipment. But still cheaper than a Tahoe for what you get.

    Nice! I went with the Same set up but triple black the same seats but in black with the contrast stitching. with tow package and skipped the driver assist. Some great rebates going on right now. You can get this truck way under MSRP. And the 2019’s packaged like ours most dealers on;y have about 1 or 2 on their lots.

      SRT is great but beware of all the expensive parts that will need to be maintained. Brakes, tires, etc. My SRT wears out tires in about 14000 miles, and about $1300 every year. I’m pretty easy on it too.

    awesome vehicle and I love it, but what usually reviewers forget to say about this so called "family " vehicle is the fact that Durango sucks when it comes to the point you need to accommodate your kids in child seats on 2-3 row of this SUV. it is horrible impractical and uncomfortable.
    thanks for the video and opinion, love this channel, man, keep it coming

    • @2024CorvetteE-Ray
      @2024CorvetteE-Ray  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can get this with a bench for the second row, so I’m not sure how it’s so bad for families.

    • @davidgunther1282
      @davidgunther1282 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish you would elaborate on what makes it so horrible, impractical and uncomfortable. What is it about the seats that make putting a child seat in them so horrible? Please explain, as I am getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these and have a child seat for my 2 year old and a booster for my 6 year old. I plan on putting them in the second row captains chairs.

    • @vincealince_SRT
      @vincealince_SRT 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Considering it’s competitors, it’s actually one of the best, if not the best in class for comfort. Tahoe/Yukon 3rd row is pretty much for small kids and when I say small I mean 3-7 year olds. Explorer has better room than Tahoe but 3rd row again has wheel wells squeezing legs inward. Not too bad but sitting inward for many trips might get uncomfortable. Jap vehicles are pretty similar in leg room and some are good and bad, but you don’t get a performance V8 with them so they IMO are not in class. Trust me I shopped these vehicles recently and Durango and Explorer made best sense considering pricing. For Chevy the Traverse was the better pick between Tahoe and itself in terms of room.

      @dlt215 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had two kids one @ten months and one at 5years old in the 3rd row and 4 adults on a road trip, everybody fit comfortable.
